Delightful, fun, clean sci fi fairytale

This is such a fun book. It's kind of a soul mate story, which are wonderful when done right, and blessedly this one is. Tamara is the lead heroine snd has her life mapped out to a T. I loved how the author flipped al of those ideas Tamara once held so death. I found the story to be unique and I really appreciate that. It's the soul mate troupe done right and an impressive sci fi atmosphere.

An ancient civilization works as Earth's guardian angel, but for the upcoming disaster, they're going to have to bring in Outside help.

Fresh out of college, Tamara Worth thought her "life plan" was finally getting on track. It might not be exciting, but it's safe and designed to take her far from the poverty of her youth. Just because she secretly longs for a little excitement in her life it doesn't mean she's willing to risk the security of her perfect plan. Suddenly she doesn't have choice. A shoe-in job falls through and with it her boyfriend. Dumped because she doesn't get a job. Sheesh! What exactly did she see in him? Anyway, now she's scrambling to patch her plan back together. Even if that means working for a shady company and a very average man who absolutely doesn't fit in her life plan no matter how she turns it but who she unexpectedly finds irresistible.

Nick Walsh is anything but average IF you can see through the shroud he has to wear. He's destined to rule Aerth, but without a strong woman by his side, his powers won't be strong enough to protect the world. Tamara shows up as his perfect match, and he's pleasantly surprised, until he realizes she'll never be happy trapped in his small part of the world. Now that he's met the woman of his dreams will he be able to settle for anything less? When Tamara disappears, he might not have a choice.

Summary:
I was expecting the usual kind of sci-fi story considering the title, but what the author created for the reader was unexpected, creative, and riveting. Tamara had her life all planned out from the groom, her perfect job in NYC, and to seeing the world. When all her plans fell through, her girlfriend Jamie found about a new company, Aerth, interviewing for new hires. From the start, Tamara has a strange feeling about what the jobs entail, but when she meets Nick, the young man in charge, all her concerns instantly disappear after her eyes meet his. Tamara questions her very sanity when she looks at Nick seeing him as older then he is and other tings that the other new hires don't see. Nick is hiding that Aerth is an enclosed dome world on Earth that has existed since the ice age and he is the next ruler. Their society uses it's power to protect those on the outside from the dangers that could destroy them. Nick is looking for a bride and he hopes that Tamara is the one for him. This is just the beginning of a story that is filled with unique characters, plot twists, and a love story that defies the odds.
