A 'Mating Season Collection' book

The hunger moon hangs in the night sky…

Malachi battled alongside the Villalobos wolves against the fanatical Kingdom Guard paramilitary to save imprisoned shapeshifters, but he has never truly felt at home in Angels Rest. Raised in the depths of the Russian taiga, his wolf is too wild to be tamed.

Sofia has lost everything, but she’ll fight to the death to keep her newborn son. Then Malachi offers her one night of protection she can’t refuse—and a passion she can’t understand. There’s a wildness in him that calls to her soul, but his secrets are darker than the violence she left behind.

Trust is hard, but the desire is undeniable, and both of them are hungry for a love like they’ve never known.

I grew up reading SFF, buying the biggest books I could with my chore money. While I loved the action, adventure, and exciting worlds, most of those stories were missing…kissing! Now I read and write paranormal romance and science fiction romance which I think mix the best of all worlds. I also write urban fantasy romance as Jessa Slade and sexy contemporary romance as Jenna Dales.

I spend most of my time at my computer thinking about stories, in my garden thinking about stories, or walking my dog thinking about stories. Hmm, I think there’s a theme… 🙂

The "Wolves of Angels Rest Series" just keep getting better and better, hotter and hotter and dammit I want to go live there.
In exchange for an honest review I received an ARC of this book by the author. Thank you so very much.

Malachi Avdeyev or Mal is a wolf shifter, born and raised in Russia, he served in the Army and now is on a mission to stop the Kingdom Guard once and for all. He has teamed up with his friends from Angels Rest and will be trying to get into the Cage King fight. Someone has been taking the best of the fighters who lose and handing them off to the Kingdom Guard.
When he hears that a diner on the outskirts of town may possibly give him some information he's looking for, off he goes. What he doesn't expect is to find a beautiful waitress named Sophia who has woken his wolf on first sight. And once he sees how she is living and also has a son, he wolf is right there to protect. The only problem, Sophia has no clue what he is.

Sophia Cristobal is trying to stay off the radar, she needs to keep her son Ace safe and away from his father's brother. He already got Brueno killed and now wants Ace. Because of this is why she is working for Skinner at the dingy diner she now calls home, well the small trailer out back is.
When a huge hunk of a guy comes into the diner, she does a double take, dam he is hot looking. and when he orders silver dollar pancakes, she nicknames him pancake man.hehe.

Mal didn't find any useful information at the diner and leaves, but when he hears a cry of some sort from out behind the diner he goes to investigate.
When Sophia sees a figure approaching the trailer where Ace is at she jumps on his back to attack. But when she realizes who he is and knows he won't hurt her or Ace, she politely faints into his arms.

Disgusted on Sophia and Ace's living conditions, he scoops them up and takes them to where he is staying. Not only does his wolf approve, but will make it know to him that it wants her.
Sophia takes Mal's offer to help. But what happens in that hotel room the next 24 hours will change her life and Ace's forever.

Mal need to concentrate on getting into the Cage King fight if him and his team are to stop the disappearance of the shifters, he needs to quit thinking about Sophia.

Sophia is told by Mal to call his friends if he doesn't come back from his bad business meeting tonight. And when he friend Torch comes to the hotel to warn Mal about the king, Sophia is then on her own mission to help. He was there for her and she will be there for him, she just needs to get to the cage fight and warn him. Sounds like a easy plan right, wrong..

From here on out Mal and Sophia embark on a dangerous mission together. Will it be just the fight to end the cage King, or will love be the goal now. Mal takes Sophia to Angels Rest, to keep her safe and finds out that shes his fated mate. oh my..

Loved this book!! I get such a kick out of all the cute names Mal calls Sophia and Ace. Myshka..little mouse..for her and Zaika..rabbit for Ace. I am so looking forward to the next book in this series..

I was given a copy of 'Fighter' by Elsa Jade, in exchange for an honest review.

'Fighter' didn't sit long in my kindle app before it was being read. I pretty much got it, started & already it's finished. There was so much happening within this installment, it kept me riveted. I do HIGHLY recommend you read this series "Wolves of Angels Rest" in order, it's not needed, but it does make alot more sense if you do.

Malachai is on his way to Vegas in hopes of finding out how the shifters were being taken without their knowledge. After talking to a recently escaped bear shifter, Mal is looking into the underground Cage Fighting... but first he needs to know where to go. After getting the information from a diner cook, Malachai is about to leave when he hears a cry, which he goes to investigate....

From the very start until the ending, I was TRANSFIXED! I'm really not sure what more I can say, I don't want to ruin anything for you.

'Fighter' is book 9 in Elsa's "Wolves of Angels Rest" series, which in turn is a part of the "Mating Season" pack series. A set of books from 6 authors, 6 different packs & an individuals story on finding their mate. I'm hoping that Elsa continues to write more of the "Wolves of Angels Rest" I've really enjoyed what I've read so far. I can't wait to delve into the other authors work in the "Mating Season" series.

A quick read That could be improved

I found the characters to be well written. The plot was really good I enjoyed the thought of reading about the cage fighting which I know very little. I felt the writing was a pretentious for the story. Using $10 words in place of down to earth Words that I felt as shifter be. It's just my thoughts and the way I felt but when I have to look at a dictionary and more than 3 times to find out what it means to me it's not that enjoyable

Fighter: Wolves of Angels Rest #9 Elsa Jade

Reviewed by SFF Dragon

True mates Mal and Sophia have tough lives but everything changes the day they meet. Action packed and sweet, I loved it.

Take a terrific stand alone paranormal romance set against an on-going background story with a great cast of characters, add a couple of scoops of mystery and suspense, a spoon or two of intrigue, a pinch of war, a host of good guys and bad guys, some humour, a lot of steam and a happily ever after, stir well and you've got the totally addictive action packed Wolves of Angels Rest series by Elsa Jade. I was given a copy of 'Fighter', the ninth book in the series, by the author in exchange for an honest review and I really didn't want to put it down. But it is a full length novel and took me about four days to read. Well written in the third person and told from the point of view of the two main characters, I was totally absorbed in the story from the first page to the last and I absolutely loved it. All the books have a little something extra and are also part of the multi-author Mating Season Collection of stand alone short stories, novellas and novels

Lone wolf Malachi Avoleyev has never felt like he really belonged anywhere, was only wanted if he was fighting and came to Angels Rest with his only friends, members of his former Army special ops team, Diesel and L.T. to fight alongside the Villalobos pack and take down the shifter hunting fanatics known as the Kingdom Guard. And they did, but there's still a loose end that's been bugging him so he heads to Las Vegas to deal with it. He has information from one of the rescued shifters about a diner on the edge of the city as well as a cage fighting club and he's following those leads when he stops for a coffee and something to eat, but he gets a lot more than he bargained for when he goes back outside and hears a cry....

The diner's waitress Sophia is in a desperate situation, on the run from dangerous people with her six week old son, Chase, and on the edge of despair when she finds Malachi about to open the decommissioned hot dog van she's been staying in, and acting on instinct, attacks him then promptly faints.

Fortunately for Sophia, Mal really isn't the person he appears to be and all of his protective instincts rise, while his wild and nearly uncontrollable wolf just wants to roll over and show it's belly to her. Mal is seriously confused, he really doesn't understand the actions of his wolf, and it's never acted this way before, but he has a good heart and he just can't leave them there...

There's a lot of story packed into this fantastic book and I don't want to give spoilers. Along with humour and some serious steam as well as a few tear jerking squishy moments and the happily ever after we all expect, it's full of suspense and is as much crime thriller as paranormal romance. There's action and cage fights, assorted shifters including some very rare dragons, as well as those making money by selling the beaten shifters to the Kingdom Guard. Full of terrific characters from previous books and a few new ones, it takes a desperate run for the safety of Angels Rest and being told some truths by his best friend, which might have seemed obvious, for Mal to finally understand what Sophia is to him but you'll have to read the book to get the whole story. It also takes the feisty Sophia, Kane, the Villalobos Alpha, and the backup of his friends to make Mal understand he isn't the monster he sees himself as. He is so much more than just a fighter and he'll never be alone again. Nor will Sophia. The Mating Moon may be gone and the Hunger Moon is hanging in the night sky, but it won't be long before it's mating season again. I absolutely loved it.

Malachi and Sofia’s gritty, raw story explores trust and survival after trauma. Their bond is forged in hardship, and Elsa Jade doesn’t shy away from darker themes here. The mother-son dynamic adds depth, and the ending delivers a hard-won, believable HEA.

Malachi and Sofia

Elsa Jade writes some great books and this series is my favorite of the ones I've read. Additionally, this book is my favorite of the Wolves of Angels Rest series. And while it can standalone with its own HEA, I'm certain I enjoyed it more because I've read the previous books. The series has become one of my PNR favorites.
Malachi is a born wolf raised in wolf skin by his extremist father in rural Siberia until he was seven and his father died. He was taken in by an unsuspecting human family and raised as a human in the U.S. But Mal never really felt like he fit in, even in the Army. So, when Angels Rest put out a call for fighters, he answered and is now working to help mop up the remnants of the defeated anti-shifter Kingdom Guard. Mal is looking for an entry point to an underground fight club connected to missing shifters when he stops at a diner he thinks may provide leads. He gets the information he needs from the cook, but as he's leaving, he hears a noise out back.
Sofia Cristobal is keeping a secret from her boss at the diner where she works as a waitress. She and her six month old son, Chase/Ace, are covertly living in the hot dog truck out back. When she sees a customer headed for the door of the truck, she jumps on his back to stop him, without success. But she quickly realizes the man isn't a threat and accepts his offer of multiple showers, a salad and one night's protection. She offers to help with the cost of his room, until they drive up to a casino hotel and she realizes she is in way over her pay grade. Oh, but the promise of multiple shower heads! And a salad!!

Another fantastic book that Ms. Jade has written of Wolves of Angels Rest which I believe is one step better than the last book. I love all the characters that she has portraying each with their own surviving skills, but it also lets you know that there is a lot of good people who will help you no matter what.
Malachi Avdeyev aka: Mal, with his Army Brothers Kane, Diesel and LT demolished Kingdom Guard, outpost in Las Vegas where they were kidnapping and experimenting on shifters, after this job was done, Kane and Diesel left as they had found their Mates. So LT left to some where else and Mal decided he was following a lead to a Cage Fight for shifters, but he needed to get in. Going to a greasy spoon diner Mal got his information he needed and left only to hear a cry!
Sofia was a waitress at a diner, living in the back in a hot dog truck, she has been through the mill and back it seems like she takes 2 steps forward and 10 steps back. Now she was exhausted, barely keeping it together but had to for her 6 week old son, Ace's sake. What is she going to do? Who should she trust? No one is going to take her baby!! I was gifted this ARC for an honest and truthful review.

"3.5 out of 5 stars, Mal (Malachi) has been a lone wolf for a very long time. Currently he is on a mission to find out who the middleman is that is kidnapping beaten shifters away from an underground fighting ring and into their enemies’ hands. The only way to find out more is to get into the ring himself just to get caught. Though, for his friends he’s willing to find out just so everyone will be safe. Yet, on the way fate steps in to throw a wrench (of the female persuasion with her infant son) in his plans … will he be able to protect them all before it’s too late?

First off, I’ll admit, this is the first time I’ve read a novel by Ms. Jade, let alone either of the two series’ this novel is attached too. Therefore while some of the inside jokes I might have missed or might have not known the significance of some situations with sub-characters in this novel, when it came to Mal & Sofia I wasn’t lost at all. A good stand-alone. Nevertheless..."

This review is from: Fighter: Wolves of Angels Rest #9 (Mating Season Collection) (Kindle Edition)
I was given a copy of 'Fighter' by Elsa Jade, in exchange for an honest review. This is book #9 in the "Wolves of Angels Rest Series" and also part of the Mating Seasons Collection. This stories just keep getting better and hotter, this time is about Malachi Avdeyev and Sophia Cristobal. It's a standalone but it would be better if you read the previous books. The story is very well written and will hook you from the very first page. Mal is a wolf shifter, born and raised in Russia, he was in the Army and now is working with the Villalobos on a mission to stop the Kingdom Guard once and for all. Sophia has lost everything and she will do what ever it takes to keep her son Ace safe and away from his father's brother that is why she's working at the dinner. Mel is at the dinner to investigate about the missing fighters when he met Sophia and her baby. Can Mal help Sophia and her son Chase? I don't want to ruin anything for you, go buy and read the book.

A truly wonderful and enjoyable story. A great addition to the series. I love the characters Malachai and Sophia. Their vulnerabilities come across in the story which is very well written. Malachi is a wolf shifter that has a hard shell with a soft heart. Sophia is a very protective mother of her newborn son. She is homeless living behind the dinner she works at in a revamped food truck. He is on a mission to stop other shifters from disappearing. Can he convince her to take a chance on him? Does he even know what he wants? This story had me hooked from the very first page.

I was given this e-book by the publisher for the purpose of an honest review. My conclusions are my own. I wad not compensated in any way.

Malachi was on a mission to see what happen to some missing shifters after a cage fight. One was found with the kingdom guard. While on the mission he found a young woman and her baby in need of his help. He and his wolf are very drawn to her. She is the only human his wolf was ever calmed by and protective of. So to make a long story short lol he take her and baby back to the hotel and boy does life change.
This one might be my favorite yet. Love the build up, action, and mystery oh and let's not forget the hot spice!
Shifter fans it's two paws up. Awesome

I was given a complimentary copy for an honest review by author Elsa Jade. This is book 9 of the series Wolves of Angels Rest by the author.

Malachi Avdeyev came to help the Villalobos wolves when a shifter was taken after a cage match and they want to find who ever is responsible. Little did Mal know that he would be getting more then he bargained for when he come here. Sofia only had 1 thing left after everything was lost and that was her son and she would protect him with her very life. Meeting Mal had been a blessing and for the first time in her life Sofia thought of the future with Mal. Now it is a fight to the death for Mal but can he keep Sofia safe at the same time.

Wolf to the Rescue

Elsa Jade has done a wonderful job writing her series Wolves of Angels Rest. In Fighter, we get Malachi's story. He's childhood was full of loneliness, heartache, betrayal, anger, starvation, death and fear. His ability to adapt and overcome is amazing. It will take an equally amazing woman to be his mate. The characters in Fighter are very well thought out and described. The reader will be able to identify with Mal and Sophia easily. I'm must say their story had been one of my favorites in the entire series.
