Grey: A Tale of Epic Fantasy
A lost little girl named Amanda stumbles into a cave. It’s the lair of Grey, an old dragon in failing health. Too young to know she should fear the creature, Amanda is quickly won over by Grey's kindness toward her. Though humans and dragons have been enemies for eons, Amanda and Grey form a fast friendship based on storytelling and sharing warm fires on cold nights. When an army of savages known as The Bane threatens her village, Amanda seeks help from her old friend. But Grey, the last of the dragons hunted to extinction by humans, refuses to help Amanda. Can Grey find it within himself to set aside centuries of hatred for humans to save her?

An insightful story.
A sweet tale of friendship between a young girl and a dragon. Well written and insightful, there are two sides to every story, though it is only the survivor's that we hear about. Warm but quite sad at the same time.
I first read this story in The Dragon Chronicles (The Future Chronicles).

"It's old Knowledge, but good Knowledge."
This story starts out with a girl, Amanda, going into a cave to greet the dragon named Grey. She has been coming to see him for many years. They have a friendship between them. He is an old dragon and the only one left. She tells him The Bane is still gathering along the frontier, and they will be leaving soon. She's asking for him to tell her a story about how dragons came into the world? The story causes anger in both Grey and Amanda, the dragon defending his species' actions and Amanda blaming the dragons. She asks the dragon a question, one she doesn't like the answer to.
This is a good story, but sad. Their friendship it turns out knows no bounds.

A delightful tale of friendship forged between members of revival species. Glorious but tragic ending.
Action-packed. Easy-to-read. Entertaining. Great world building. Scary. Tragic. Wonderful characters.
