This one was a bit different from what I've been reading. In this, Daphne, is taken by her ex-boyfriend and being sold as a sex slave. The person who buys her only wants to do research and promises to keep her safe. It seems like poor Daphne has had a rough go of it with men and her she's used to men treating her poorly. Until, Makko. He's not like any man she's met before.
The conversation and the way the characters speak drives me batty. It's too stilted and formal for me. Plus, in the beginning Daphne thought way too much stuff to herself. It was always in quotations so I kept thinking she'd be saying it out loud until the next words were, Daphne thought to herself. Ugh, it was a downer.
Anyway, I'm glad Daphne found some happiness. She definitely deserved something good to happen for her. I'm not sure I understood the whole, she can't come, oh now its OK, thing. I enjoyed the first one better but I'm still wondering what will happen next.
