Computer geek, Edmund Cray has high moral principles: he doesn’t sleep around but would love to find a husband. That’s on hold while he goes on a pan-galactic mission to fight injustice for the Anti-Slavery Agency. All that could change when he meets the crew of Eurydice, including one man who has surely stepped out of Ed’s sexiest fantasies.

Jax is a Morib warrior. Men and women look at him through eyes filled with fear, lust or both. In his life, emotions are a weakness and whatever you care for can be taken from you. The new tech guy is distracting, brighter than the sun, hotter than solar flares and Jax can’t get enough of him.

They're on Eurydice to work but find it hard to focus on the mission.

Some readers may find the very brief mention of men eating vegetarian food a little disturbing. The pages of requited desire, lust and sex between two gorgeous men along with a romantic happy ending should compensate for those crazy words.

This started out okay, and I believe the author holds a little promise, but neither the writing nor the storytelling were enough to impress me. I couldn't connect to the characters, the pacing was bad, and while there was a lot of telling instead of showing, I still found myself somewhat lost in the universe Perry attempted to craft.

Couldn't get very far; bad on a sentence level, so can't speak for the rest. Ebook also badly packaged.

~ set in the 24th century with 1980s value judgements
~ the aliens are identical to humans unless they're not, then they're animals (or "bug-eyed monsters")
~ blue Orion slave girls
~ opens with "Four Years Earlier"
~ next chapter is "Four Years Later" ---earlier or later than what isn't specified, but although it suggests 8 years have gone by, only four years have passed since "four years earlier"
~ does not know how space works
~ all the action happens off-page
~ most of the romance also off-page

There was a germ of a good idea in there, unfortunately it was neglected for sex scenes and the bones of 60s sci-fi television.

Enjoyable sci-fi romp with great sex and some suspenseful action. Ed and Jax have incredible chemistry from the start but think they'll never see each other after their night of hot sex. Oops! Now they have to work out their feelings toward each other within the tiny confines of their ship and their job. Because of the alternating points of view, we know how the guys are feeling and the things that are drawing them together (besides the great sex) and keeping them apart. There were a number of things that stood out to me about the story. The first was that Jax found Ed completely gorgeous even though he was just an ordinary guy. The second was that Jax, despite his imposing size, didn't fall into the alpha-male, grunting/growling, stoic stereotype that you so often find. The third was the crew itself, their motivations, their cultural differences, and their camaraderie. The sci-fi and hacker details were fun too. I liked that this was a complete story/episode but that we will see these guys again in the next book. I also saw teasers that their may be more M/M stories onboard or the potential for them in the future. An great start to a new series.

Ed & Jax are sweet & hot! Out of this world!

I truly enjoyed this story of Ed (hot, geeky, so smart) and Jax (tall, built, sex on legs, total warrior) and their coming together! I thought the pace of the story was good, instant lust then slowly through misunderstandings and expectations the beginning of love. I liked the POV from each character, I could see how each character was fearful of committing and expressing their feelings (not sexually thank you).

The editing could have been better and a little better explanation of the group going into the first mission, it was abrupt from the start of that mission then the next chapter they're back. Also, please don't describe Jax's eyes as black beads (sounds like a hamster's eyes), perhaps Ed could be looking into pupils/eyes so black he was lost without any clues. I'm not a writer so whatever but aside from the description of the eyes the romance and adventure was great.

Overall I enjoyed this story, thus the 4⭐️ and am looking forward to the next of this series.

Enjoyed & Looking Forward to Part 2

I enjoyed this book, the story is not all tied up in a neat little bow in the end but there is a Part 2 coming. I'm glad because I have questions still. But this part of the story does have resolution and it's a very entertaining read. I loved both the main characters and I'm still very intrigued by Ed and his tattoos. Jax may have some hard times ahead and I hope he can stick to his guns and prove himself. There was a Part of the story where it was obviously part of the edits. There were lines drawn through parts of sentences and corrections put afterward. Overall, this was a very enjoyable read that I would read again and I will be reading part 2.

There was more potential here

From the blurb, I was expecting Jax to be a slaver, or art least a mercenary working for them to bring in a lot of great angst. Instead I got a galaxy where Earth seems to be the head of an inter-system alliance (or a highly valued member of that alliance) where our morals on slavery have become law, but our morals on individual rights haven't? How can inter-species sex be fine, but only as long as it's heterosexual? The rationale of het only would seem to be procreation, but that can't happen inter-species, so who cares, and why?

It was a good read but not what I expected. Not enough action for a book titled Warrior. I understand this is the first book but I feel like I didn't really get to know the characters. Also, Jax's character did not align properly in my opinion. Rather than being shown who Jax was I felt like I was being told. I'm not sure I'll buy the next book but I do look forward to finding out more about Ed's tattoos.

I enjoyed this book but something wasn't quite right.

This was fun and sexy and I will definitely want to keep up with the group's adventures. I probably rated it a little higher than I typically would a similarly written book, but I'm looking forward to the next installment, have high hopes for the follow-up and I'm predisposed to a positive bias for my love of SciFi space adventures anyway.

Story plot was on it self boring. Meanwhile both main characters Jax and Ed are interesting and there starting romance is great.

This was on okay read. It read a bit disjointed and there were gaps in the story. The story appear to be promising between Ed and Jax.
