This is the first Tamil book I've read in years.A colleague of mine had this and I borrowed it.I cannot necessarily say this is a great book and all but it certainly is a page turner. The story is about Rangamani and the women he encounters in his life and his desire to love all the women in 'perumal store',a small colony. The story is really good and the concept is good regardless of the words and the descriptions about sex.but you cannot stop yourself from reading it .The character Rangamani portrays both the good and bad sides of society.and at the very end of the story there's a character named Bhavani who changes the reader's thoughts about Rangamani and portray him as the good guy. To him everyone there are fishes with wings.they cannot fly and get to the pond in the sky so they swim in the water that's stagnant.but he's not like them. he is a fish who flew to the heavens ,and his love for every women made him fly high.this is a hard concept to accept but somehow the author justifies it.Nowhere in the book rangamani is portrayed as the bad guy eventhough he does bad stuff. That shows the quality of the author's writing. I cannot say I liked the book.but as much I like it,I hate it too.but overall I really enjoyed reading 'Meenin Siragugal'.
