الهندسة الاجتماعية هي فن الخداع الذي يمارسه المهندس الاجتماعي على اشخاص بحيث يجعلهم يكشفون بشكل إرادي عن معلومات سرية أو بإعطاء المهاجم الفرصة للوصول للمعلومات السرية.
و الحكاية هنا ليست في برامج اختراق و سوفت وير قوية ، و لكن فقط في التأثير على العنصر البشري بأساليب بسيطة تشبه أساليب النصابين مثل احمد مظهر مثلا في فيلم العتبة الخضراء مع اسماعيل ياسين .
و يعني هذا ان أساليب الهندسة الاجتماعية لا تعتمد على معرفة تقنية عميقة ، و لكن أي شخص يتوافر لديه قدر معين من الدهاء يمكنه تنفيذ هجمات الهندسة الاجتماعية.
ومع هذا صاحبت المعرفة التقنية اساليب الهندسة الاجتماعية فإن ذلك يشكل تهديد اكثر خطورة. من مجرد المعرفة التقنية وحدها أو الدهاء بمفرده .
كتاب بسيط أولي لم يضف لي كثيرا ، ربما الشي الوحيد الذي تعلمته هو مصطلح الهندسة الاجتماعية انا بقية المعلومات فكلها معروفة و بسيط .

Unfortunately it does not give to many information. It was an easy read but I was left a bit empty at the end, I was hoping for more technique details for better preparation but it's just the usual: do not trust strangers, do not click on links

Read it to confirm my suspicious that these are ghostwritten or written by a layman.
The book is very thin on content. Felt like I was reading a Chinese menu, but without all the deliciousness.
If you want to know about social engineering, just any of the free articles out there about it. It'd be more informative and rigorous than this book.

The book mentions to too many social engineering ploys and tricks that attacker can employ in order to urge the victim to divulge sensitive information. As such, Elicitation, pretexting, and some psychological tricks. Moreover, the author described how some physical and software-based tools could lead the engineer to scam, hijack, and spoof a targeted individual or organization via enormous ways. Also, in the final chapter (6th) the author depicts how to prevent and discern the social engineers' attacks.
In spite of all that was being said!!
I DO NOT RECOMMEND this book for an aknowledged person.
Personally speaking, the book might be a good-starting for newbies and novice.
Since, It does not cover the nitty-gritty in the subject and does not deal with so many essential ways, methods, and tricks from both social engineering's side and protection's side.

Decent reminder of how easy it is for some people (social engineers) to breach into your personal life whether via normal conversation or via use of technology and extract info.
Quick and compact read but if you are looking for more in depth info on this topic, you might want to pick another book. This is good for someone who has never given much thought about Social Engineering, hackers etc.

So summarize and honestly Over rated on Amazon , Paid 10$ to get an super brief introduction to social engineering?!
I've been through a lot of more focused social engineering stuff but this one is not more than simple google searching or wikipedia searching for some social engineering key words , copy , paste , print and start selling
Too bad I spent 200LE for this
