Cassie and Mike sat quietly, listening to the rhythm of the rain and watching the sky pour its emotion down onto the foliage outside their window. It was such a peaceful time, just before dawn and before the birds even got an idea that the new day was imminent. Mike put his giant hand around hers and they lost themselves in this moment of romantic rain. A sweet and promising story of love and romance.
"A sweet short story about two lovers and a day spent watching the rain fall, together. Making a great memory to bring out and enjoy when life becomes too hectic. A sweet read."
"This is a heart warming (story) about love and the little things we do for each other."
This is pure, unadulterated romance. It's a treat!
While ‘Romantic Rain delivers’ on its title, I found that the story did not move very far and that it was quite repetitive in many places. Cassie and Mike’s love is evident in the story, although they seem to base that love on each other’s physique, which I found rather shallow. I do enjoy stories which I am able to easily visualize, with characters that are believable and easy to relate to. I was unable to relate to Mike or Cassie, as Terry Atkinson’s story seemed to be playing itself over and over in some places, with the romance being more from a soap opera than one from real life. Some grammatical and spelling errors appeared and, while they were few, the fact that the story is so short, it was disappointing and distracted from the romance that ‘Romantic Rain’ was trying so hard to convey. I would recommend this tale to those who enjoy short stories and enjoy a whole lot of rain in their romance.
I'm a big sucker for just sitting, listening to and watching the rain. This is so tender, so sweet, but not over the top. Sometimes you just need a little old-fashioned romance without flash, whistles, or other distractions. I'm looking forward to reading more of Terry's stories -- short and long.
