Aubrey and Jesse----two unlikely people/shifter who could be paired. But this story shows that love can surmount impossible odds! I loved the storyline...the love story between two people and their lives. I will be the first to admit that I really did not see that surprise in regards to the whodunit!!

This book is unlike any shifter story I've read thus far. It wasn't all about the steam and the animal instincts to claim each other, or whatever. We are introduced to Aubrey who, while is not a shifter, researches shifter diseases and has a shifter family, but didn't inherit the gene for it. Recently, there's been an outbreak that's stumped many researchers, that's when we head to a small town in Colorado that may hold the answers. In the meantime, Aubrey, AKA Yerbua, meets a shifter on a popular dating site named Roar4more.com. J2Oh, AKA Jesse, feels a certain connection to the woman going by Yerbua on the site and wants to take this flirtation to the real world. When these two unknowingly meet each other sparks fly. But not just in the romantic sense, at least at first.

This story was less about the relationship between Jesse and Aubrey, but more centered around the suspense of figuring out this debilitating disease of The Cripple. There was definitely some steam, but not an overbearing amount that the whole story was centered around it. This was a refreshing book, and I will be on the look out for more from this author! This was really well written and was very enjoyable. It had aspects to the story that would appeal to others that may not be as interested in shifters. I highly recommend this book to others to give it a shot because it may surprise you!

Aubrey is a medical researching looking in to rare shifter diseases. She was motivated into this career field after her father died when she was younger of a rare shifter disease. Currently, "The Cripple" is taking up almost all of her time. She spends a few spare minutes on a shifter dating site talking to one man. Jesse is a wilderness guide in Colorado and has been searching for a mate. He met an intriguing woman on a shifter dating site, but he is torn between her and a city girl needing a guide, Aubrey.

A great read. Aubrey has dedicated her life to finding cures to something similar that killed her father and turns to an online site to meet men. Jesse wants one girl for a life time, instead of a night. The current disease is gaining speed as it burns through the shifter community and Aubrey will stop at nothing to find the cause. Aubrey and Jesse spend time talking an getting to know one another and rely on each other in some dangerous situations.

Aubrey devotes more of her life to work. She works to find cures for diseases that effect shifters. She has an online flirtation with a tiger shifter but is not sure how far to go with it. On an assignment, she meets Jesse. They both feel the attraction. As they work together to save lives, they become very close.

Aubrey is a very focused woman and she is quite independent. Jesse is at the point in his life when he wants more than a casual hook-up. He has quite a past. It was interesting to see these two make discoveries about each other that the reader was already aware of. I liked that there are some moments of humor even with all the tension and suspense.

It is a pretty quick read with alternating narrators which is my preference for getting to know the characters. There are some surprises you see and a big one you don't expect.

I received a copy in return for a honest review.

I liked this book. The premise was interesting and not necessarily like any book that I have read before. At the same time, there were some very predictable aspects. Unlike many books that I have read, it seemed deliberate, like letting the reader in on a secret before the characters figure it out. In addition, there were some great twists that I actually did not expect. I would recommend it to anyone who likes shifter romances. The writing is okay but I have definitely read better. That said, Sasha Winter shows huge potential and I expect great things from her in the future.
Also, based on other books that I have read in the back and their quality in relation to the tone/format of the cover, I was greatly surprised by this book. This is one where I think the phrase about judging by the cover totally applies.

I have to say now, that I am thoroughly pleased that I received this book from the author for my honest opinion. I absolutely loved it. Jesse is such a big pussy cat when it comes to Aubrey. I laughed a few times from their antics. Especially with Jesse doing his little "jig" routine. I am hoping that Sasha will continue this series, and with many more books at that. I thought she did a wonderful job with the book, I had no problems reading and following along with the characters. She also made it so easy to fall in love with the characters. I really enjoyed Claire too. I will be watching for more books from this author.

I enjoyed this story. The cute development of the relationship between Aubrey and Jesse, as well as,
Yerbua and J20h was fun to experience.
Aubrey is a research scientist and she is looking for the cure for shifter diseases. When her boss approaches her about going out in the field for research that could be the key to finding the cure for The Cripple, she doesn't hesitate. But will she find what she is looking for in time? Will Jesse be able to help or is he just a distraction? Is there a chance that she will find a cure before its to late?

This is a great shifter love story that I really enjoyed reading. Aubrey is a research scientist desperately trying to discover the cause as to why so many shifters are dying from an unknown disease. While searching for the cause and cure, she ends up meeting a sexy tiger shifter named Jesse through a popular dating agency and then in person and things take off from there. There's an interesting twist here that made things much more interesting for sure. I highly recommend reading this to anyone and I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Aubrey is a research scientist that has devoted her time to finding cures for diseases affecting shifters. She will travel to Colorado in order to find the source of an illness known as the Cripple. Aubrey hires a guide named Jesse to take her to the reservoir where she suspects the illness originated. Fascinating plot with an unexpected bad guy. Sexy, suspenseful and happily ever after.

Good Intentions Pay Off

Aubrey and Jessie fell in love within days. She was researching the cause of a deadly shifter disease by testing the water at the suspected source site. Jessie was her guide. The person responsible found them and locked them in an air tight building to kill them. I recommend this book to anyone who wants to find out what happens. Enjoy!
