Kate is a total mess. Rather than deal with the real problems in her life, she runs to random men and a bottle... or four. Thank God for her best friend and her mom who never give up on her because life is about to throw her some crazy curves. Now she's got an new bio dad that acts like he hates her and his fiancé who really does hate her, an illness sucking the life out of one of the only persons she allows herself to freely love and a pyscho ex/random hookup. She's in over her head!

Edward "Eddie" is the opposite, he's got he's stuff together but his life is missing that spark... until he meets Kate. Despite Kate being mostly snark and sass, he finds himself drawn to her and wants to be her soft place to land, when she crashes (which he knows she will.)

I wanted to love Kate but I just didn't. I liked her best friend and her mom and Mike but I fell in love with Eddie. He's just such a good guy and when he went all alpha on her, yum! There were some errors in formatting that made the storyline a little hard to follow but there were twists I didn't expect that kept it together for me. The characters were good and sassy and the love felt real. All in all, a great Saturday afternoon read!

Kate finds out her biological dad, Henry (who is rich and has a almost teenager/adult finance) owns the shop she works at is closing up the shop even though they can afford it and he wants Kate to transfer to one of his other buildings doing what a lady should be doing. I love how she tells her co-worker how her mom conceived her by"spitting in a cup and out she grew"-great analogy to tell kids on where they came from. haha

I would have had the same response as Kate did-good for her even if it was her sperm donor. I can't believe he even spoke to her like that and after not knowing her for 30 years and taking away her dreams (shatter is the better description). He's lucky Brooklyn stopped her or he would have had no man parts left to make any more sperm babies with a teenager out for his money. She had a normal life, she wanted until she met the sperm donor. She had her mom, Mike (co-worker and a guy she looked up to like a dad) and Brooklyn who was like a sister to her (as well as her BFF). Brooklyn and Kate are hilarious! Their 40 year old pact and Kate's bean comment OMG dying over here.

Edward is her undoing. Can she allow him to be what they both need to be for each other? They have a lot in common and the in the end the Chase is worth it. In this book, you will laugh, cry, cringe at the emotional moments and be glad that you journeyed on the Chase with Kate, Edward and the secondary characters. I loved that while we didn't have to read her other series, we still got to see Brooklyn. Loved seeing old characters from prior books make an appearance in the new books.

While romance is not my usual genre of choice, Chase Me, a romantic suspense is not what I expected. Ms. York delivers excellent characterization with realistic dialogue. The plot wraps around a broken young woman, Kate, who found addiction to sex and alcohol essential for survival. Her spunky personality, love for her mother and her best friend drives this plot along with finding her soulmate, Eddie, who is searching for his destiny. A torn family unit, cancer and a past lover brings mayhem, stalking, death, and murder with unexpected twists and turns amplifying the suspense.

Chase Me is the first novel from Elizabeth York that I've read. While not her debut book, it is her most recent self-published and I am glad I found it among my Kindle Unlimited selections.

I was disappointed to find poor Kindle formatting with the book opening at Chapter 1 instead of with the Prologue and the Table of Contents links did not always send me to the chapter listed; not necessarily an author's fault, it reflects on the reader's enjoyment. While I LOVE Ms. York's style and the entertaining story, the text contains multiple typos, missing or misplaced punctuation, and grammar errors that caught my eye and interrupted the reading flow. I found the graphic sexual scene towards the ending redundant and unnecessary.

Despite what I've stated above, this emotional rollercoaster of a read with its steamy sex, abstract humor, and tragedy is a recommended read. I have fallen in love with Kate and Eddie's characters.

This was a real treat, it had more than enough twist and turns in the story to keep me not only interested but hooked!
I found the pace of the story was swift but it didn’t leave anything out, it was very detailed and descriptive.
The story is about Kate and Eddie, the way they live their lives couldn’t be any further apart if they tried, I mean they weren’t even paddling in the same pool.
Kate’s plate is full to overflowing but juggling it all is not exactly her strong point, actually she might be as sharp as a tack but when it comes to dealing with life, I was worried that she actually knew what she was going to be doing from one day to the next.
Eddie on the other hand, didn’t get ruffled, he had his life in hand and left nothing to chance, so what the heck is he going to make of the livewire that is Kate?
I didn’t know that they could make it, I was worried that they might not be able to find a middle ground that they could call their own and between the two of them find the ability to make not just each other but themselves happy.

Elizabeth York has done it again. Chase Me will grab you and keep you attached to your kindle or book. How this woman does this is beyond me but she creates characters that you can actually imagine being in your life.

Kate is a strong independent woman. She knows what she wants in life, to work in the garage working on cars. But even strong women can be a mess. And Kate is one huge mess. When she craves love she goes out, crawls into a bottle, and latches on to someone for the night. And only for the night. She makes that very clear to all who fall in her web.

Kate thinks she has her life figured out until her moms illness get progressively worse. Her mother is her world. The one thing in life that Kate has allowed herself to lean on. Then Edward "Eddie" comes screeching into her life.

Neither Kate or Eddie realize how much their lives are going to change due to their meeting. But when Kate's life is in danger she will have to learn that she needs more than what she thought.

When you pick up Chase Me by Elizabeth York make sure you buckle up for an amazing read.

Let's talk about sex, baby. Let's talk about you and me.
That is the song that rolls through my head as I read this story. Not because it is overwhelmed with it like a porn, but because there is just enough and it is used to heal the main characters vices. Something lots of people have done, but never admit to while she owned her choices.

I loved it.

Kate is not your typical girlie girl and I love that her character is strong and independent. She can handle just about anything on her own and she wants to, but when illness strikes, and over zealous men come into the picture she needed a friend she could turn to without burdening her family.

I loved this book because it tells as though it is a real story. The events are plausible and they allow you to feel what the character feels. This is one of those books that even now three days after reading it I am still dwelling over it. This is a definite 5 star must read kind of story.

ARC given by author for a honest review..
I absolutely loved the Brooklyn series and Wishing on water series.. I read about Kate in these books… I was sooooo looking forward to her getting her own book…and Eddy… yum!!
I liked this book… Just didn’t Love it like I did the others.. Not sure really why..
I really really wanted to love Kate but I just didn't. Not like I did in the other books… I loved her there… I loved Brooklyn and her mom and Mike.. Oh Mike.. He was one in a million… and I just loved Eddie.. He is just an all-around good guy.. I really disliked her Father and his new wife.. (oh I despised that thing)…
Kate’s life is spiraling out of control.. and when she doesn't want to deal she runs to sex and alcohol.. She has the best job.. the one thing she loves to do… working on old cars.. This of course is when she meets Eddie..

Thank you for the opportunity of allowing me to read this… 

Chase Me by Elizabeth York is one wild ride that had some twist I didn’t see coming. Chase Me was a fast paced page turner that had me on the edge of my seat. This was my first book by Ms. York, but I’ll be one clicking each title.

Kate is a livewire, and has no coping skills for life in general. She has all kind of problem coming at her in this novel. Her old ways of dealing with problems are with sex and drinking, but things start to change when she meets Eddie.

Eddie is completely in control of his life, he’s calm and has a good job. Kate’s polar opposite! So, of course they start a relationship, sort of anyway. Kate has a hard time letting anyone in her personal space. This could be a strain on any relationship, but with a livewire like Kate will it make things too much for Eddie to handle?

I loved this book, it was real, real people, real situations. Great character growth and it flowed well. 5 stars!

I want to use this to leave a note to my readers.
I am aware of the issues with the editing, the page counts, and am working with Amazon who never updated the file from the rough draft. I apologize if this turns you away from the story, but am at a loss as to how to fix it except to wait on Amazon to do their job.

As far as what I think of the story...

I love Kate and Eddie. They were not the normal cookie cutter love story, but they still got their happily ever after. Not everything works the same for everyone. Kate and Eddie prove that opposites attract and sometimes when life spirals we all just need a hand to hold onto till we can stand our ground again.

This was a good story. Some of the storylines I found to be a little over the top. What saved it for me was the lead female. She was so funny. Her mouth and reactions to me made the story. Definitely worth a read.
