A full year of blood and tears has passed for Adrian Ring. As the dead remain hateful, the living are more desperate than ever: winter approaches and supplies are dwindling. Meanwhile, the conflict with the monsters at the Factory is reaching a boiling point.
But Adrian won't have to fight alone. Kevin and Michelle, his unwitting compatriots in the scheme to save the world, are following signs and portents to make their way to a hero they don't yet know.
To meet them, Adrian will have to weather treachery, starvation, violent attacks… and perhaps worst of all, the temptation of an easy way out.
The Trinity, the seventh book of Adrian's Undead Diary, splits the world wide open. The inner workings of good and evil, and what happened on 'that day' in Washington D.C, will finally be revealed.
The endgame begins.
The Trinity contains Adrian's diary entries from September 2nd, 2011 to December 22nd, 2011. It's also the home for the side fictions White Blood Cell, The Factory, Dreams of a Dying Man, The Road to Bastion, and A Stranger Among Us.
I am the creator and author of Tesser: A Dragon Among Us as well as Elmoryn's The Kinless Trilogy, Colony Lost, Adrian's Undead Diary and the Darkness of Diggory Finch.
I've gone to a LOT of college. I've got a Business degree as well as a Psychology degree, and I've done the full program at the school of hard knocks. I've been a printing press operator, bouncer, purchasing agent, bodyguard, customer service representative, mental health counselor, and more. I can write about weird shit because I've done weird shit. Trust me.
I call the wonderful state of New Hampshire my home, but I love to travel. I love to read, write, play role playing games, miniatures games, video games, and Magic: The Gathering. When I find the time to be active, I like to hike, play basketball, and play football. I am married to a wonderful woman, and together we have two wonderful daughters.
I actually like that Goodreads lets us authors create and review our own books. It lets me as said author critique my writing, and see how I've grown over the years.
Without giving spoilers away, The Trinity was an ENORMOUS leap for me in the AUD storyline. I took several big risks with how this goes, and for the most part, it was well-liked. Some hated parts of this book, but whenever the status quo is throw in the air, feathers get ruffled.
I love this book. It marks the arrival of characters that have been on a very long journey, and it starts the true endgame where Adrian starts to go toe-to-toe with the powers that be, to end this all, one way or the other.
I'm excited that I'm only one book away from the finish of this series, and I hope you are too.
While I understand why the author needed the change the format halfway through the book, it made me rethink my previous comment of this author not needing an editor to tell a great story. The story itself was still very interesting, but I think parts of this book that really turned me off may have not made it through an extensive editing process. Of course I am referring to how Abby sounds exactly like Adrian and the appalling things that Mr. Philbrook tried to make his audience believe could actually be the thoughts and feelings of an 18 year old girl. (Not to mention the repetitiveness of the telling and retelling.) I found Abby choosing to attack others as well as the use of vulgarity offensive and not true to her character. I feel that the author failed this character abysmally. What I originally dismissed as a stylistic choice when used from the POV of an older male who is admittedly a bit of an anti-hero seemed less intentional and more a lack of refinement in the authors writing ability (also so much harder to swallow).
Honestly, if there were more than one book left, I doubt I would finish the series. Before reading this book I may have considered picking up other works by this author as I think he has well thought out, interesting stories to tell. But this book reinforced my earlier hesitations about his writing needing major editing and his style of story telling and excessive use of profanity not being my cup of tea.
I was a little disappointed that the story was told by two perspectives. The journal in first person then reiterated in third person or again from other peoples perspective. I found by doing this the author repeated information twice adding additional bits but still with the same content in its entirety. This made it seem like half the book was new information and the other half repeated information from a different perspective but still repetitive. I am a fan of Adrian's undead diary and was excited to read this new instalment. However, it has made me reluctant to continue this series due to the change in format and repetition which I didn't notice in the other books. I found this to be frustrating and annoying having to read the same information twice.
This book starts off with action pretty early and it’s intense! There’s a moment of real fear, someone clinging to life, and a major event that had me on edge (Adrian got shot!) For the first time in the series, we get a new POV, Abbey’s, and it adds a fresh emotional layer to the story. I liked seeing things through her eyes, though her voice still feels a lot like Adrian’s, so the distinction wasn’t always clear. While the pacing was a bit slower, it delivered important developments that feel like the calm before the storm. I’m definitely curious, and slightly terrified to see what’s coming next.

Adrian's back, and he's pissed! Hell hath no fury like a trinity scorned.
The Trinity is the seventh book in Chris Philbrook's Adrian's Undead Diary series. With this being the second to last installment in the saga, Philbrook takes some time to slow down and let readers smell the roses...or is it the decay?
Like with any sequel, there may be spoilers from the previous books, so if you haven't read them, you may consider stopping here.
This one's a bit different than the others. A traumatic injury puts Adrian out of commission for a good chunk of the book and the spitfire, Abby, picks up his journaling slack. I like Abby; she's one of my favorite characters in the series. Though, at times, she may be written a bit mature for her age in both thought process and the manner in which she speaks. But since I'm completely invested in the AUD series, it's a small incongruous tidbit I can easily overlook.
One of the reasons I hold this series is such high esteem is its realistic writing style. When Adrian writes in Mr. Journal, I believe him. There's no question, at least in this reviewers opinion, that every line from Adrian rings true. (See what I did there?)
Evaluating the complete saga to date, The Trinity is my least favorite. But that should really be put into context...I still enjoyed the read, but some others have resonated more with me. If I had to analyze why, I think it would be a culmination of things. Not enough Adrian-let's face it, he steals the spotlight. And the action was minimal. The Trinity was more reflective, almost setting the tone for the grand finale. Which we really do need, but my personal tastes steer more toward the chaotic frenzy of undead.
That said, The Trinity has left me dying to get to the end. And I just know once I get there, I'll go into withdrawal.
The Trinity: Adrian's Undead Diary Book Seven by Chris Philbrook Searched for a new Zombie Apocalypse Series on amazon.com
As the title suggests, the Trinity is about to come together. But how does this happen and at what cost.
Mr. Philbrook does it again! A wonderful story line of all the “school” survivors and their friends. Many new people and situations are introduced in this book. Chris is so creative with his characters and how they all learn to survive. There is a lot of development with the main characters in this book. In the last 2 books Abby has greatly matured. With The Trinity, Abby continues to mature and show her leadership skills.
Adrian, our protagonist, gets into some interesting well thought out settings in this story. In some ways I think Adrian is less mature than the beginning books, but then I think it is because he is more secure now and able to let go of totally being in control of himself...so perhaps that is what I'm sensing.
I LOVE ADRIAN!! And I love this series...I think this was one of the better installments...I hate that Adrian got injured..but it was almost a necessity to this story line....If you have listened to the other books, you have to listen to this one too...Adrian is in a coma for part of this book, but that does not stop him...he still is fighting the good fight from the other side...also the other 2 people that are needed to fight this war show up and its about to go down...I gotta have the last book ASAP!!!
This book is another piece of awesomeness. At this point, Adrian has survived a year of the dead, the living, and the many perils of this new world. The beginning of the end is triggered by the arrival of new people, and with new content you will delve even deeper into the story. So much praise for Chris Philbrook and his writing. I can not wait for more from him in the future.
So much awesome and devastating things happen in this 7th book of the series. Evil is pulling out all the stops to make sure The Trinity doesn't get together. More and more zombies are showing up, there are more attacks by waste of skin survivors yet there are more people saved by the group at the school. This character driven, emotionally charged tale will put you through the wringer with all the action and the continued fight to survive. There is so much I want to say but I'm afraid I will spoil the twists and turns in this great book. Now onto Book 8 and again, I can't recommend enough how you really need to read this series if you love the zombie genre.
I liked this book, but my main critique with this had to do with Abby writing and talking exactly the same as Adrian with the only difference being the use of the word “yummy”
If you were listening but not exactly paying attention and missed what happens to Adrian, you’d very likely not realized that the “authors” of the journal had changed at all.
But other than that, the book and series so far is still very good and definitely going to wind up being a series I listen to more than once.

I adore the Adrian's Undead Diary series. Super fun and engaging while hitting all the keys of the zombie apocalypse genre chord. There is a reason there is such a vulibtant community around this series and this author. Highly recommended.
This was excellent! As have been all in this series so far! I really love the feel/style of this writer & really like all the characters & story lines! Great plot progression & a very enjoyable read! I can't wait to read the next part!
I love this series. Adrian is finding his way through the apocalypse, which doesn't always go to plan. the characters throughout this series are very believable, their experiences seem completely possible. I'm excited to read the next instalment.
