This one was at times corny and a bit cheesy, but nothing too crazy, so I did actually enjoy this light and fluffy free Kindle Unlimited read quite a bit.
I probably won't remember much about it, but it was a good filler read for me, so if you're looking for something sugary and sweet, this might fit the bill.
I do have to ask, though...
WHO THE HELL ARE THE GUYS ON THIS COVER SUPPOSED TO BE ???
In the book, Ford is 33, with chocolate brown curls. CURLS for Christ's sake!
And Reef is 25, with blond hair. BLOND! Plus, he had no facial hair, at all. :- /
I hate when the models on book covers in no way resemble the MC's in the story.
If you're not going to bother with that, I'd really see a cover without models, otherwise, what's the point?

May 27, 2025Unsure why you'd make the MC's meet off page at like 10% in, so there's no vibes to be seen, have 10 pages of plot/barely any dialogue except out of no where flirting and basic boring chat, before adding in a story complication resulting in being snowed in, and expecting me to believe the 'straight' dude is getting a fucking boner for the other guy before 20% in.. Fuck awwwwwwwwwwf

When I saw there were two formerly straight guys finding their bi-ness in the blurb, and decent ratings, I figured, what the hell. I'm sad to say this did not work for so many reasons. Mostly because these two characters were moved along at the speed of light. It was more than my suspension of disbelief could handle. The only points it got was for not having the guys actually fall into bed during their first three days together. However, they were both having insta-boners the day they met, like pubescent teens in math class. After rescue, they spend one night together frotting and one runs off in a snit the next morning because the other denied him to someone that showed up at the door. And won't speak to the other and gets drunk for five days. Little to no internal questioning of the shift in their sexuality, just agonizing over breaking up (after knowing each other less than a week).
There was just nothing believable for two guys just discovering they're attracted to men. It was instant everything. If you want to read a realistic story of two men coming to terms with a new attraction to another man, read The Rebuilding Year or Crossroads. Much more realistic and romantic handling.

2.5 stars, rounded up because it was an enjoyable read at the beginning for the first third of the book (a pro snowborder and a mountain rescuer who have to survive through a snow storm and realized they can be attracted to men and are attracted to each other). Then, it went completely OTT for my tastes and I couldn't get back into the story.

First I have to say that I read the blurb and thought okay two guys one straight and one bisexual find each other and fall in love or lust whichever. So I was like could happen because I know someone who that has happened to and he is happily with his partner. So I said okay I want to read this. So I am going to be honest here and say that the first half of the book had me like whoop whoop rooting for these two to give it a go and give each other a chance to be together.
Then there was some things that happened that had me like oh HELL NO! But I kept reading and I am so glad I did because this is truly a story about two guys that have feelings for one another and don't know how to navigate through this new thing that is happening to them.
Reef is a pro-snowboarder who is in need of a vacation from things. He goes to take one but ends up somewhere else and he goes with the flow and enjoys his new vacation spot. It is there that he meets Ford. Ford is a mountain rescuer and loves his job. When he meets his favorite snowboarder Reef. They strike up a conversation and decide to take a trip up the mountain where things change fast for them because of a whiteout coming in and trapping them together for a few days. It is in those few days that they find out they have feelings for one another, But the thing is do they act upon it or do they just remain friends?

I clicked it, read the description, saw the part about "opposite sex" and thought, oh, cool, a bisexual character. The blurb read like two bi guys of very different types (one a settle-downer, one a one-night-stand sort) finding chemistry and going from there.
So, to be clear for those of you who misread the blurb like I did, that's not what this book is at all. Instead, it's a double gay-for-you, and the kind that comes with a tonne of problems and bi/pan/queerphobia issues.
Now, lord knows I've talked about the harm of gay-for-you stories before, but the specific issues with this one include:

4.5 stars to this Hot Gay For You Story
This is a fun, easy read and you will fall in love with the MC Ford and Reef. I enjoyed watching these two straight guys as they were drawn to each other, attracted to each other and eventually as they give in to those desires. There is very little conflict in this story and the supporting characters don't have much of a role.
Reef ends up in Queenstown New Zealand during his off season and find that although it wasn't his original destination it is a fun town with plenty to do, including snowboarding. Ford works the slopes as a rescuer and doesn't immediately recognize one or his favorite snowboarders when he first meets Reef. The two volunteer to do a heli-drop to scout the mountain out and are stuck facing a pop up blizzard with whiteout conditions, forcing them to hole up in a cabin for 4 days -- as they try to survive and stay safe from the brutal elements, the crackling fireplace isn't the only thing heating up the two in the cabin. What will happen after the two are rescued? How will these two explain their sudden change in sexuality to all or their friends and family? What about when Reef has to leave New Zealand? Do these two even have a chance to have a relationship or is it over just as fast as it began?
4.5 stars ~ Can't wait for book two!

This is one short & really intense read about a snow boarder & a mountain rescuer that is far superior to some novels of a grater length.And the best part of it is that it continues.It has a HFN ending & despite it's cold theme this novelette is blistering hot.

I enjoyed this for a sweet quick read. I liked both characters, but calling them straight was pure fantasy. These two were attracted to each other from the very beginning. I know that bothered some people, but sometimes I like to just leave reality behind and enjoy myself.

Loving the M/M's that are hitting my Kindle, and this one is no exception.
Reef Reid is a pro snowboarder, and a mishap lands him in a New Zealand ski resort, instead of tropical paradise where he wanted some much needed downtime. There he meets Stratford ‘Ford’ Wallace an instructor on the ski slopes. They both get trapped during a whiteout in a cabin where the book really starts to take shape.
The relationship builds steadily between Reef and Ford, it's a good love story and by the end you know whatever life is going to throw at them they'll be Shreddin’ The Gnar
I enjoyed Ann's writing style, it was easy to follow and made a good read, I'll certainly be watching out for more!

Professional snowboarder Reef is trying to take some time off to relax and regroup. He has ended up in NewZealand at a resort where he meets Ford, who does ski rescues on the mountain. They are on their way down a mountain during a heli-skiing adventure when they get trapped in a storm and Ford helps them find their way to one of the mountain's rescue cabins. Several days together has both of them realizing that they are very attracted to one another. This is slightly confusing, since both have previously been involved with women. Even after the storm lets up and they are rescued from the cabin, they find their attraction to one another is still strong. What they don't know is if this attraction will be something that could turn into a real situation in the real world.
This is a charming M/M GFY story with characters that are very easy to like. Basically both Reed and Ford are pretty perfect. Kind, sexy, talented, etc. Despite their attraction to one another coming as a surprise to them both, they accept things as they are pretty easily and it doesn't take them long to develop some pretty great communication with one another about their attraction, desires, fears, etc. My only minor criticism is that everything seems to come pretty easily to both characters in all respects. Sure, there are some minor challenges, but for the most part they deal with any potential obstacle to making some major life changes pretty easily. Again- Ford and Reed are both easy characters to like, so spending time with them and their steamy chemistry was a pleasure. 3.5 stars.

Great read ~ Love Reef and Ford ~
Wow, what a fantastic book about an American snowboarder and a British ski-rescuer. Reef Reid takes a break from his pro snowboard season and decides to head out for a much needed vacation. Ironically, he winds up in a beautiful New Zealand ski resort by mistake, instead of a warm Caribbean island. Siding with fate, he decides to enjoy the beautiful country and heads out on a heli-drop with the resort's rescue worker, Ford Wallace. An avalanche strands the two in a ranger's cabin for four days. A lot can happen when you spend your time holed up with someone. Someone who is easy to talk to about anything and everything, and so physically attractive that red, no, make that rainbow flags, are waving all over the place.
Reef and Ford are perfect together. The name teasing and banter between them is sweet and tender. They handle their new-found , yet confusing feelings almost drama-free. Physically, they crave each other so desperately, that when it happens? Well damn, they're absolutely scorching hot between the sheets.
This book is so well written with colorful, descriptive images that lend a perfect painting for my minds eye. Each chapter flows into the next with ease. My only problem is, I wish the story was longer—I want more of Reef and Ford's journey. I'll eagerly be awaiting the release of their next book. Fabulous job by Ann Grech. I highly recommend this one :)

Whiteout certainly isn't a "Whiteout" as we meet Reef and Ford 2 apparently "straight" men.
Reef is just out of a relationship taking a break from training as a snowboarder.
Ford is a medic, single too, who takes Reef on a journey that not only lands them in trouble physically but also mentally.
WOW !! This story was so hot and so well written as we see both men fighting with their feelings, vehemently denying subconsciously that they find the other attractive. They both put it down to being trapped together for a few days. They've both got parents who are flaky and unsupportive to say the least. I think what i really loved about this was the concept that both characters think they are straight, think the reason they've never settled down is because they've never found the right woman to settle with. I'll not say too much more as it'd give the story away but get ready for an avalanche of emotions to hit you,HARD !!

So I got this book free with my Kobo account and I liked the cover, which is not the one Goodreads has, if it were this one I would have never picked it up, but alas I did so here we are.
This is not a long book but somehow a lot happens, or at least that's how it feels.
Ford and Reef have "an unexpected chemistry" and after some forced proximity, we see how both delulu "straight" guys have feelings for each other, after they get rescued and get back to safety their relationship progresses from sort of strangers to lovers with a side of bi-awakening.
I mean this book is not perfect and if I'm honest it feels very corny at moments but I still enjoyed it a lot and actually want to finish this series.

I loved this book so much. I devoured it in one sitting and and moving onto book 2 as soon as I finish typing this review. I completely fell in love with both of these characters. They are both incredibly strong and were completely going down the wrong path in life without even knowing it. Watching them realize that they were falling for each other fast and not thinking it was anyt other than the adrenaline of the situation they are faced with. You will fall in love with them as the authors takes you on a journey of a lifetime and full of discovery.

Plenty of what you want in this book. Some humour, a bit if dramatic action, some sizzle and 2 strong men not afraid to explore their feelings. Looking forward to the next book (but a little disappointed to think I had another half hour of reading in this one until turning the page and suddenly see "The end for now".

cute MM romance
This was a perfect read for the winter time! I loved that it was on the shorter side. It was definitely a tease to the next book and I have to say I am intrigued enough to continue Reef and Ford’s story.
I gave this read three stars because at times I found it hard to follow who was saying what. It felt like it went from third person to first person at times. I do wish each chapter was labeled with whose pov it was so I knew for sure which lines were for who.
I thought the nicknames were cheesy, but a good cheesy. I think nicknames like that show how comfortable you are in a relationship. I don’t know anyone in their 30s using nicknames like that, but I feel like Ford and Reef became softies when they got together. Their rough exterior was nothing once they broke into each other’s hearts.
I do have to say that this author did a fantastic job with describing the chemistry between these two. I was pushing for them ever since the cabin. I can’t wait to see how their relationship progressed in the next book.
I feel like they’re in the honeymoon phase of the relationship right now and I hope they stay as happy as they are in the next book 🤞

I liked the premise a lot, but execution was utter failure.
It moved on far too fast for two supposedly straight men that'd never been with another man before -- the homophobia from some of the friends didn't even make sense/ like it was so forced.
Also the giant paragraphs made it really really hard to keep my focus on. I reckon this is why I prefer audio. Someone reading it for me, and I pay more attention.

This wasn't necessarily a bad book the characters were cute the plot was cute but the writing was just so subpar. The first part of the book moved so fast you hardly got to know the characters before the plot was full speed ahead. Also I didn't by either character as being "straight".
Also the time jumping between paragraphs was kind of annoying either end the chapter or make a break before jumping days/weeks ahead.
I am tempted to buy the second book but not to sure if I will.
Also the time jumping between paragraphs was kind of annoying either end the chapter or make a break before jumping days/weeks ahead.
I am tempted to buy the second book but not to sure if I will.

This was an easy, sweet book but their wasn't much distinction between how the two thought/communicated and I kept having to go back a couple pages to see which POV the book was currently in. I did like the slow burn of the attraction between them (although they were awfully good at all the M/M sex for guys who had never done it before). Still it was a enjoyable although I'm not sure if I'll continue the series. I'm not against reading more I'm just not in any hurry to read more.

When two men start to have thoughts and feelings they've never had before, you just know it's going to give us a darn good read. Ford, a paramedic and Reef, a professional snow boarder, always considered themselves straight, that is until the day they were thrown into a severe snowstorm. A well written and totally enjoyable story with it's up's and down's as confusion and misunderstanding are rife. Plus we have the pleasure of several follow up stories.

I found this story unconvincing and poorly proofread. It's about two men lost in a storm and suddenly attracted to each other even though neither are gay and neither have ever had sex with another man.
There are way too many commas that interrupt phrases, and several other punctuation and spelling errors as well.

This was fine. Simplistic and MCs were caricatures in part but sweet and fluffy in others.
