This book can't make up its mind on whether to be a guidebook to getting a management consulting job or to be an exposition on the management consulting industry. As a result, it provides a half-hearted attempt at interview advice as well as an equally half-hearted collection of essays by career consultants on their take on the industry. These essays provides occasional insight, but only when they deviate from the nebulous implicit prompt of encapsulating the consulting experience in four or five pages. The best parts or specific anecdotes of on-the-job experiences, and give a somewhat interesting depiction of the job.
