Some of the pieces were interesting but most were a bit dull and the writing style didn't grab me.

Jest to książka o niecodziennej tematyce, napisana dobrym i przystępnym językiem. Pustynne przygody w niej opisane działy się na różnych pustyniach i uwypukliły rozmaite trudności związane z podróżowaniem przez pustynię.

Niestety, opisy były bardzo pobieżne, ale i tak wywołały moje zainteresowanie i zachęciły do dalszego zgłębiania tematyki pustynnych wojaży.

Wah sama sekali nggak ada yang review buku ini. Yah memang bukan buku yang fenomenal sih. Cuma kumpulan kisah nyata pendek yang berhubungan dengan padang pasir. Tapi cukup seru dan informatif untuk dibaca kok. Ada peta-peta sebagai ilustrasi, ada trivia yang lumayan seru. Beberapa cerita di dalamnya mungkin sudah akrab di telinga kita. Kisah Lawrence of Arabia, cerita asli film English Patient, perburuan oasis legendaris, dan berbagai petualangan gurun pasir yang seru. Yang paling aku suka adalah kisah tentang dua orang Jerman yang melarikan diri ke gurun pasir saat perang dunia II. Mereka harus belajar berburu hewan liar di gurun, mengatasi gigitan kutu gurun yang mematikan, dan bersaing dengan hewan predator liar untuk mendapatkan makanan.

This is a fascinating book. It is about the earliest, most incredible trips and journeys across some of the driest places on Earth. Deserts are places that not only suck all the life and water out of everything, but there is also very little to eat. So for humans, it's very hard to survive even a few days. Despite all the dangers, humans have always had a romantic fascination for deserts, and have ventured into them time and time again, often unprepared. For centuries, humans have tried to take on some of the wildest, most inhospitable areas on Earth. Some being brave, some desperate, and some foolhardy. I would recommend this book to anyone that loves adventure books and learning about the unbelievable things people have to go through on these dreadful voyages.

This book was full of interesting stories, like one about Lawrence of Arabia. It was a good book.
