... there are no display photos of finished blankets here. I realize the usual granny squares are done in square grids, but know/suspect they can also be used with double crochet ripple stitches. With over 200 pages in this book I was hoping but, unfortunately none found here. Just a lot of words with a few pictures, all square grids. Good for those getting started with crochet but, my search will continue until I get fed up and just try to make it without someone else's directions! Crochet is forgiving as long as the yarn doesn't shred! I've torn out lots of stitches and either started over or moved on to another pattern! Good luck with your project!
This book was easy to read and fo!low. It is a good book for anyone that has a minimal amount of time but wants to make something beautiful. It is also for anyone that has lots of time and watching TV every day is becoming boring and unproductive.
I was looking for some color inspiration and stumbled on the book. The directions are very clear. Any beginner crocheter should be able to complete a granny square blanket without problems. Also a great way to practice making granny squares. I would have liked the finished pictures to be larger so I could see the colors chosen. Would be a great gift to a newbee at crochet.
I’m new, but some of the instructions are giving me pause. I’ll have to find the videos she said come with the book. Excited to try one! Looking forward to the inevitable frustration and wanting to jam a crochet needle up my own nostril.
Clear instructions. Easy to understand. Explanations are very helpful. I think it would be very good for beginners to follow for their first project and good as a reference to keep on your shelf
This is a very detailed book great for a beginner or for finding color way options. Not much variation on the basic granny, which makes some patterns seem redundant.
I an advanced beginner that is just starting granny squares. I enjoyed how the instructions were detailed and informative without the graph. There was one picture that was rather dark though.
Clear and concise instructions. Included pictures of finished squares. Gave several ways to connect blocks for each different square. Overall a good book.
I gave this book 5stars because of the attention to detail that the author put into this book. The author must be an educator, not only do you get the book but the video that shows you step by step on how to make granny squares! It's awesome! For some of us (me) that likes to see and read how to make things.
In the beginning of the video it started and stopped ..yes the author paused the video at each section and each color. Once I learned it was intentional (I did not look at the little box that read what was coming up...it looked the same to me, so don't make the mistake I did thinking the video is not working properly.
I am going to start making the one color granny square #4 because I only purchased one color...in case I have trouble making it,but with the video and the directions in the book I should be ok. :)
I highly recommend this book and watching the video!
