The Poughkeepsie Brotherhood Box Set

Rate this book
Now get all four of the Poughkeepsie books in one place. From Poughkeepsie Begins to Saving Poughkeepsie you'll fall in love with the story of three brothers and their love for the women in their lives, and each other.

Poughkeepsie Begins - It ends with the beginning. This legendary, indie, cult-favorite series ends its tale with the story of the Poughkeepsie brotherhood before the tattoo. Before the train station, before the church, before a criminal empire, there was a foster home and three teen boys who weren't related by blood. But damn if they aren't closer than most blood families by their choice. Still in high school, Beckett is already laying the groundwork for a grander life ahead, one where his brothers want for nothing and get some respect for once. But even as he plans, Beckett must decide if he's ready to make that choice-diving into a life that trades his chance at a future, his chance at something as simple as first love with a girl named Candy Cox, for the chance for his brothers to find happiness. Blake, Beckett, and Cole's devotion to each other is forged by fists and the driving need to belong somewhere, to do more than just survive this life.

Poughkeepsie - He counts her smiles every day and night at the train station. And morning and evening, the beautiful commuter acknowledges him - just like she does everyone else on the platform. But Blake Hartt is not like the others...he's homeless.

Each day, Livia McHugh smiles politely and acknowledges her fellow commuters but when the moment comes that Livia must do more than smile, without hesitation she steps into the fray to defend the homeless man. And she's surprised to discover an inexplicable connection with her new friend. After danger subsides, their smiles become conversation. Their words usher in a friendship, which awakens something in each of them. But it's not long before their bond must prove its strength.

In an interwoven tale of unlikely loves and relationships forged by fire, Debra Anastasia takes readers into the darkest corners of human existence, only to show them the radiant power of pure adoration and true sacrifice. Complicated families and confused souls find their way to light in this novel, which manages to be racy, profane, funny, and reverent all at once.

Return to Poughkeepsie - Beckett Taylor is a murderer. His calling, his craft are destruction and intimidation--whether he wants it that way now or not. He left Poughkeepsie to keep his brothers safe, to keep Eve safe. Set up with happy lives to live, they're better off without him, right? But all his willpower crumbles when he hears his brother Blake's frantic voice on the phone. An unknown enemy has moved in on his old territory, and Livia's been taken. In an instant, Beckett knows it will take an attack only he and Eve can execute to bring her back. All his self-imposed embargoes are torn to shreds, perhaps along with the new man he's struggled to become. In this emotional and action-packed sequel to Poughkeepsie, Debra Anastasia conjures a tale of love at its most raw and ragged. But even when it's messy, not magical, true love perseveres.

Saving Poughkeepsie - Beckett Taylor's quest to be a better man has brought Eve Hartt back into his life, but sometimes it feels like they're bound together with barbed wire. Though he longs to love her without causing her pain, the wreckage of their past continues to crash down around them. Yet Beckett won't stop trying. He's determined to make them all a family, to make a life they want to live, and to make Poughkeepsie a place that's safe to live that life.

Nice ending for a great series.

I’ve lost plenty of sleep due to this series. There were many times that I just couldn’t put it down.

I have to say that Mouse was one of my favorite characters. I loved the layers that made the man. He made me smile many times through this series.

Beckett...holy smokes. Just wow. What a complicated man. I can’t even begin to think of adjectives to describe him.

I loved his loyalty and his fierceness when it came to his family/his brothers. Talk about coming from nothing to become something. And to becoming a hero after being a villain. Yet he never lost sight of his
brothers and their importance in his life and his need to make sure they were safe.
A
Blake. How incredible of a journey he goes through in this series!! From nearly bipolar and believing the sun made him invisible to a self made man that writes music and gets a tea job and marries his healer l! My oh my. Oh! And then he has a family and becomes someone no one but Licia dreamed he could be.

And Eve. She is my hero and I want to be as kick ass as she is when I grow up!! A self made assassin born of hate with a heart as big as the ocean. What a conundrum but so Eve. I couldn’t be more thrilled with the way the series ended for her. She deserves everything her heart desires.

I have to say that I was team Ryan Morales for Eve for quite a bit. I was convinced Beckett was going to screw up or get himself killed and Eve would be all alone. But again, I couldn’t be happier with the way things ended for Eve. It made my heart happy.

I also have to say that I was proud of Licia’s dad. I know how difficult things were for him where Beckett was concerned. I was glad that he could be a good man and try to see beyond the old Beckett and give him a chance. Again, heart happy.

I really don’t think you can go wrong with this series. Definitely recommend.

Prepare for the journey!

Why did it take me so long?! Omg, I wish I had made time to take this series off my TBR a long time ago....sooooo good! I don't even know what to say about this story, I was completely invested in these characters, their lives, their pasts, their stories, and their future....I am gutted that it's over! Beckett is so beautifully damaged and imperfectly perfect. Prepare for the journey folks, you won't be disappointed! I absolutely loved it!

Great series

I really enjoyed this entire series. Beckett was my favorite character by far, with Blake being a close second. The first book made my heart hurt. The books just kept getting better. I was half expecting to see Beckett’s first girl make an appearance later on, but I was glad to see the story with Eve stayed it’s course. Great read all around.

This is the kind of series that changes you. I don't look at the world the same any more. You never know what has happened to people to make them what they are and this series showed that to me.

Blake is the sweetest. Cole is strong. But Beckett, Beckett is my forever favorite book boyfriend. He's a hero in his own way.

In order to do a complete review of all books I'm reviewing each one as I finish them and then will give my overall view of the whole.

Poughkeepsie Begins - 5 Stars
Wow I was so drawn into this book. I was thinking seriously that it would take me forever to get through one book with them all bundled into a box set. Boy was I wrong. This book is actually the end of this series but it takes you back to the boys beginning. Beckett, Cole & Blake are 3 young boys who have been thrust into the life of foster children due to very bad family lives. They forge a bond and swear that they will never be alone. They are all in it together. Brothers to the end. This sets the stage for what will become of the boys as they advance in age. Beckett is the bad boy, drug dealer with a heart of gold. He'll do whatever it takes to keep his family safe & taken care of. We watch him find his first true love & come to realize that in order to keep her safe from his life he must let her go. Cole is hard to read. He can make a grow man break under his stare but then he finds something to help him try to find some form of peace. Blake has many physcologial issues. Issues he knows is just in his head but just can't break free from it. He becomes lost in the music and sounds that he hears & is more trusting and accepted in the forest and the trees than he is with people.
This book is utterly amazing & I can't wait to find out what else is in store for these young men.

Poughkeepsie - 5 Stars
Okay so Poughkeepsie delves much further into the boys lives. There is so much more to these 3 than meets the eye.
The blurb may give the indication that this is Blake & Livia's story & while it is, it digs deeper into many other characters.
We see the relationship between Beckett & Eve and boy that storyline will blow you away when it all comes together.
We are introduced to the gentle soul, Mouse. I loved this character. He was such a perfect addition to the story.
Then there's Cole & Kyle. Wow, just wow is all I gotta say!!
While I still have two books to go, I can't see my overall review straying from 5 stars. These brothers & their lives will entrance you. I'm loving this series so much <3

Return to Poughkeepsie 5 Stars
Holy smoking WOW!! This series just keeps getting better and better.

Beckett has decided to "do the right thing" and leave Poughkeepsie to ensure the safety of his brothers, their families & Eve. He's doing all he can to become a better man & change his ways. He's kept his distance for five years. He's trying to rebuild his life & let those he loves move on without him. But sometimes the past you left behind will come back to haunt you forever. After a frantic call from Blake that Livia has been taken Beckett is fast on his way to becoming the protector he's always been. His return may not be on his terms but Poughkeepsie his still his to command & command it he does.

OMG Mr. Taylor is back in the melee and better than ever. Jeez this series is one hell of a roller coaster ride and there's so much more to come.

Saving Poughkeepsie - 5 Stars
Just when you think Ms. Anastasia can't get any better we get Saving Poughkeepsie and boy does she weave a story that will leave you pondering how she could manage sick & twisted with a good dose of sad, loving, aw moments all in the same storyline.

Beckett is back & he's back for good. He's reclaimed his town & the woman he loves. Sadly the peaceful moments are not meant to last long as his old enemies surface and they are out for blood. Beckett has a plan to change his ways & he'll be damned if someone stands in his way.

Rudolfo Vitullo may be many, many years into his life & should be slowing down but he's about to show young Mr. Taylor a thing or two about respect and he's used to getting his way. Sadly he's picked the wrong person to target & Beckett will do anything necessary to keep his family safe even if it means dancing with the devil.

This book is full of so many twists & turns you won't see them coming. There were so many "say what!!" moments in this one.

This whole series, even after 4 books wil leave you wanting more of these characters & their lives. I fell in love with these boys and their stories. I can safely say I wish there was more.
