This was a quick read and feel good book. It was about Jacob who is bi and was a famous swimmer and training nonstop fro very young and is now retired and just wants to enjoy life. He meets Solomon who has a bad heart And they have an instant attraction and the book follows their developing relationship. It was a pretty tame book but was still hot at times. The think that drove me crazy was the author's over use of the word 'like'. Whenever there was conversation it wad like this and like that which really annoyed me. There was a small bit of angst and I feel something was missing as they were both 29 so not teenagers even though they acted like it at times. Maybe I'm just used to reading about Alpha males which these two seemed to be lacking.

Big mistake reading this immediately after the same author's "Run in Time." The whole present tense issue was still present and accounted for. No big deal. The issue is I felt like I was reading the same book over again. Both set in Baltimore, both have young former Olympic athletes, both of those athletes live in loft style buildings over a ground floor garage where they both have all the same cars, both have two dogs, both of these athletes golf and travel for personal appearances. The other main characters in both stories have an issue which could cause a wedge: a world famous action star being outed/dying while waiting for a heart transplant. Even the conversations they would have had a sameness to them. This wasn't a "bad" book, just a disappointing one.

This is a pretty decent quick read. There are actually real life complications between the MCs and the story doesn't rely on miscommunication. The writing and characters develop throughout the novel. I felt there were some missed opportunities that would have enriched the story and Jacob's character. Nevertheless, the characters do show growth during this life-altering event.

I loved it. It was sweet, funny, and very well done. Both main characters were realistic but loving and likable.
