The making of the Star Trek movies, as told by the cast and crew! As Star Trek Beyond heads into movie theaters and the Star Trek franchise celebrates its 50th Anniversary, this jam-packed volume celebrates Star Trek on the silver screen in all its incarnations - from the J.J. Abrams-directed Star Trek and Into Darkness to the classic The Wrath of Khan and The Undiscovered Country - with a stellar array of big name cast and crew interviews.
The cover may have been the first clue that this would be mainly focused on the Kelvin films. In fact, I'd say 2/3 of it is that. It's interesting to read the cast interviews, but also kind of cringeworthy hearing them say what a great story Star Trek Into Darkness is. The last third of the book is about the Prime timeline films. It gets difficult to read when the layout of the pages makes it so that a shade of black covers some of the text. I don't know if this was some Into Darkness gimmick or what.
