A ruthless criminal unleashes his most feral desires in the new Leopard novel from the #1 New York Times bestselling author of Wild Cat.
Passion melts the will of an ice-cold criminal when he meets the one woman who can tame the beast inside him.
Leopard’s Fury
With her own bakery in San Antonio, Evangeline Tregre made a new life far from the brutal lair of shifters she was born into. Though she is all too aware of her leopard-shifter blood, she never felt the sensation of a wild animal stirring inside her. Not until Alonzo Massi walked into her bakery. The powerful shifter is as irresistible as he is terrifying, but his icy demeanor tells her to keep her distance.
Alonzo knows better than to let himself get involved with someone like Evangeline. She doesn’t deserve the type of danger that follows him, or the threat of his Amur leopard. But even with his lean muscle and iron will, Alonzo isn’t strong enough to stay away from the one woman who can make him feel at peace. And when their secret lives draw a mortal threat, Alonzo unleashes the feral passion he keeps pent up inside himself.

IN HER WORDS: I've been a writer all of my life -- it is who I am. I write for myself and always have. The ability to create pictures and emotions with words is such a miracle to me. I read everything; I mean everything! All kinds of books, even encyclopedias. I am fascinated by the written word and I love storytellers. It is a great privilege to be counted one myself. This review was originally posted on Addicted To RomanceSummary Evangeline Tegre, left the swamps for a better life for herself, and saves and scrimped her money to open up her own bakery in San Antonio. She keeps her shifter side quiet and she refuses to be part of that brutal world she grew up in. But then her world turns upside down when a stranger that is full of ice walks into her shop. She can feel the hard life that he has lived and how he keeps himself cold, and she only wants to get one smile from him. For a whole year, he walks into her shop for coffee and a treat. Alonzo grew up in a horrible world of violence and death and was trained to be just as evil as the rest of his family. But when his father killed his mother, he fought back to save the life of his brothers. Alonzo has had to make the toughest of choices, he is cunning and ruthless when he needs to be. He knows that Evangeline is his mate, a woman so pure and good it hurts to look at her knowing he is not good for her. But Evangeline and Alonzo learn to fight for each other and their love... Plot and Story Line Leopard's Fury is the most recent release in the Leopard People that Feehan has created. I will be honest the previous two books I wasn't too impressed with and lost some faith in Feehan's ability to write this series like the others books. However, from the first chapter, this story felt completely different and more like the earlier books in this series. I adored seeing these two grow and learn together. Both characters were simply wonderful, and what I liked most was that their story wasn't rushed. We see their chemistry slowly build up for a year but things really pick up when we get some old characters come into the story, including Evangeline's cousin Joshua. Now for those of you who have read Savage Nature you will really enjoy seeing how Leopard's Fury connects to that story. Evangeline has gone through quite a bit in her young life. She had to rely on her leopard when she was just a baby. She was abandoned in the swamp and had to hide from her family, who were abusive and controlling and raped the women in the family. Only Joshua managed to escape from becoming like the other men in her family. But when she meets Alonzo, her leopard is what keeps Evangeline from making to many mistakes with Alonzo. Even though Alonzo has lived a brutal life, and he is a bit of a alpha male, but I love how he treats Evangeline. He is patient and understanding with her. It was also fun to see most of the other couples in the series take part in this book and see their acceptance of Alonzo and Evangeline. This story does prove to be very exciting at times, full of suspense and danger and an intensity of emotion to blow your socks off!! The Cover Not my favorite of covers to be honest....It doesn't seem to fit with the other themes of the covers of the series. But I do love the the sunset behind the prarie like fields. Overall View Leopard's Fury is a romance that will send thrills to you from head to toe....a story that is packed with excitement, danger, intrigue and seeing two people find peace and healing in each other after a life of evil and hardship Click To Buy [foogallery id="17635"]
Leopard Fury is the 9th book in Christine Feehan’s action-packed, Leopard series. The world of shifters can be brutal and exotic. For the couple in this story, Evangeline Tregre and Alonzo Massi, their childhood lairs were full of violence, brutality, and terror.
Evangeline was abandoned as a baby by her parents, left to fend on her own in the swamps with only her leopard as her companion and protector. She has managed to survive to adulthood, with minimal scraps of food from her cowed, beat-down father. Now, she has fought to survive into adulthood on her own and has made her way from the Bayou swamps to the city of San Antonio, Texas. Finally free from a nightmare childhood, Evangeline has used her meager earnings to buy a small house and open her own bakery. She has left the swamps and lair far behind to become her own woman when Alonzo, the Iceman, starts visiting her bakery.
Alonzi Massi is a man of ice, with few words, and clearly carries an aura of a cold-bloodied killer. However, there is way more to this complex, scary loner than it first appears. His brutal childhood has made him what he is...“I’ve had pain inflicted on me until I rose up and put a stop to it.” On top of an unfortunate beginnings, his leopard is one of the most rare and vicious type of cat, an Amur leopard. As a man if few words, Alonzo is concise when he begins to open up to Evangeline. “He wasn’t flowery…he wasn’t a poet…he was raw and brutal. But she made him want to be more than he was.”
I fell in love with this couple from the very first page. Evangeline is the type of heroine I could relate too and would want to be friends with. She is shy without being timid; when it comes to keeping what she has earned, she is firm without being acerbic. This is a favorite exchange when they are in the first stages of their mating dance:
“So, no more dictatin’ nonsense.”
“There’s going to be dictating.”
“Then prepare for rebellion.”
“I’ve seen your bossy… I get it. The thing is, you better get me as well. I don’t rollover because you tell me to do somethin’…If you want me it has to be me you want. That means you’re not gettin’ everything your way.”
Evangeline makes it clear, once Alonzo confesses who he is, bares his soul, and makes his verbal claim on her, that while she feels a mutually strong attraction to him, she will not allow him to consume her. This is another favorite scene from the book:
“I am that girl from the swamp without a family, without a parent, or anyone at all. I made my own rules...I can’t be anyone else, not even for you.”
She makes it clear that she will not compromise on giving up her business that she work so hard to build: “I love my bakery.” She made it a statement. “That bakery represents me risin’ out of the swamp…taking control of my life.”
Alonzo still tries to assert that he wants to be her center, as she is his, but he comes to respect her decision...
He dragged a chair close and reached for her hand: “I’m going to drive you crazy, but I’ll listen to what’s important to you and we’ll find a way to make it work."
This is from a cold-eyed, tortured man who had never been held, never been loved, yet he was willing to listen and adjust even when his natural instinct was to was grab on tight to the woman he loved and wrap her in a cocoon of safety. Alonzo eventually learns to acquiesce because his ultimate desire is to make Evangeline happy. Needless to say, Evangeline keeps her bakery, albeit with extra security and a surprise…employee.
Leopard Fury is simply an exquisite reading experience. The story seamlessly intertwines action, adventure, and intrigue with romance. True, there are sensual elements to the story, these are two consenting adults completely in love and devoted to each other. Yet there is intricate character and relationship development. Alonzo has been visiting Evangeline’s bakery as a regular customer for over a year without making any move on her. He has been coming to her bakery several times a week for coffee and a pastry because her calm, quiet, and steady presence calms him and calms his nearly uncontrollable leopard. He does not stalk her or try to entice her into bed; he is content for a long time just to be in her presence. It is only when there is a tangible threat to her that he moves to claim her.
The bond with the other leopard women takes time to form but eventually, Evangeline finds a sisterly comradery with Emma, Catalina, and Siena. Also, a new life makes an entrance into this growing community and several favorite characters make a heartwarming appearances. It was wonderful to read how this complex community of shifters fully embrace Evangeline and Alonzo as part of their world.
I loved this book. I received this ARC copy in exchange for an honest review and I've endeavored to keep this review as spoiler-free as possible. No plot twists have been revealed and there are many. I have also pre-ordered Leopard Fury as part of my collection and I can truly recommend this book to current and new fans of this series.
1 I liked the backstories for both Fyodor and Evangeline. It hints at their difficult past and strength. Fyodor was ruthless and determined, Evangeline was a survivor. But in the present, they are simply Fyodor playing the Ice Man and Nice Girl Evangeline.
2 The relationship built slowly and both of them accomodated each other.
3 The mafia meets bakery is a wonderful premise. It cracked me up and had so much potential. All the cops, mob people and undercover agents are haunting the bakery and enjoying baked goods.
Half - I like the supporting cast, the other shifters, the Russian cousins, other members of the alliance.
Lost 2 stars because :
1 Underwhelming villain.
2 Joshua and Evangeline are cousins but this storyline is not explored in depth. Interactions between the estranged cousins would've been nice.
I LOVED this story from the first page to the last! A mix of paranormal and crime genres, there was nothing about this book I didn’t want to just re-read over and over again…. This author has created a new genre for me – shifter/mafia – that I can’t get enough of.
Evangeline Tregre was a mystery in plain sight. Alonzo Massi didn’t spend just days or weeks watching her, instead there were months and months trying to resist her appeal. Puzzled, but unable to stay away, he and his leopard could not stop coming back even though they should.
“Evangeline was a woman a man kept. He wanted her in his bed… Have those fucking romantic dates with her.”
Evangeline’s childhood has shaped the woman she has become. She has no ties to anyone but her leopard and the bakery which is her life, her family. Despite that, her personality as well as her baked goods keep customers coming back. Especially a special someone… Alonzo immediately captures her eye, and that of her leopard, and those feelings just grow and grow…
If Evangeline is a mystery than Alonzo is the equivalent of a closed book. Told from alternating points of views, their pasts are revealed slowly, over moments of protectiveness and courage. Baby steps on both sides are taken even as each have many reasons to stay away. They wanted to protect each other through distance but neither was able to resist the call of love for themselves or their cats…
”When there isn’t a choice one accepts fate. But she had a choice…”
This story had it all – from sweet love to heated passion, selfless acts of kindness to violent acts in the name of revenge and family. Tender moments and blood-soaked scenes worked because of the emotions that surrounded them all. Star-crossed (or should I say family-crossed) lovers could not be denied and their paths were filled with humour, danger and heat that could not be denied. ~ Diane, 5 ‘want to give it more’ stars!
DNF @ 60%. Blah blah blah boooooring. Alonzo/Fyodor the man of no expression and Eva the woman in hiding. It's a case of it's me not you or the author. I guess I thought she might have changed since I read her last. But no, it's still tooo serious, tooooo dire, tooooo repetative, etc. I mean would it kill the author to have someone crack a smile now and then? I don't mean Alonzo, I get that he's all doom and gloom big bad whatever. Her characters never do anything 'fun'. They don't even watch TV. Heaven forbid they should chuckle and crack the doom and gloom mood. Anyways, for me it makes the characters seem peculiarly flat.
This story I enjoyed a lot because I liked the dynamics between Evangeline and Alonzo. This story can be read as a standalone. For those reading this series in order, Alonzo shows up in the previous book. He was a questionable good guy there and in this one, he's supposed to be an anti-hero. I really liked him. There is something about how Alonzo was raised and was able to overcome the psychotic males in his family that just impresses me.
Alonzo may be a made man, but he is more than that. I find that perception makes the truth relative. Is Alonzo bad and breaking laws? Yes and no. What he does is illegal because it is against the law. However, his purpose is to take out the criminals and this is fighting fire with fire. This is an interesting concept. Does it really work? I think it does for a while and then hero and saviour gets turned around and then they become the tyrant.
As for Evangeline, I enjoyed her story and her cat. Her story parallels Alonzo's and she is pretty amazing. Her desire to stay away from all cat shifters is understandable. What she does with her little business is impressive. The chemistry between Evangeline and Alonzo is what really made this story sweet and adorable. Alonza may be an alpha male, but he isn't pig headed with his woman. I think that's why I like him more than others. This sexy shifter story is recommended to paranormal romance readers who like the bad boys with a heart of gold.
What do you get when you put a hero, who suddenly finds himself with something he thought he'd never have or deserve, and a heroine, who doesn't want anything to do with it, together in a world created by a master story teller like Christine Feehan? You get a great read!
This story is a roller coaster showing the dangers not only of their crime family lifestyle, but the effects dysfunctional families can have. When Evangeline and Alonzo feel the attraction and desires drawing them together they fight it, find excuses to resist. But slowly, patiently, you see them knocking down the barriers that keep them from love. They come to grips with their pasts and how it influenced how they react to the world but doesn't define who they have to be. Ms. Feehan takes them on a slow journey of discovery as the bond between them builds, they learn to accept themselves and each other, that love is something that needs constant attention and compromise. It's not something that destroys and weakens but heals and strengthens. You find yourself in many frustrating want to shake them moments, (good alpha stories always do); many hold your breath, what's going to happen next, action packed moments; many teary-eyed revelations of their pasts and what could be their future moments; and many warm-hearted smiles when they finally "get it" moments.
Not only do these two characters grow throughout their journey, but so do many secondary characters in a way that does not detract from the main characters' story but enhances it. I love the side story of how family isn't always blood but people you bond with, who want you in their lives, accept you for who you are and are there for you in good times and bad. Cannot wait to see them, and many old friends from previous books, in future books in this series.
260220: ‘reads’ below do not refer to actual reread so much as interpretations of this work...
240419: in two minds. or three. or... whatever. first read found great intensity, internal monologue of he and she very effective- but the sex is first all promise, all delay, all waiting, sort of extended foreplay, or as i think of sex, it is all play, and does not come before anything but more play... so, yes this is something men who want to know what women want should study. rather than heedless, immediate, wild and meaningless sex, there really has to be, in fantasy if not irl, some emotional commitment. this requires time. this requires history, intimacy, family values etc. helps if you are both quietly (or loudly), desperately, immensely in lust with each other...
on second read, found myself examining the poetics of sex description, the constant need to indicate, in simple, direct language, at least to oneself- how great this desire is, how hot she is, how loving she is, how lost and broken and just not very stable or gentle he is, how he does not deserve her etc... this goes on and on. fun scenes of repressed violence in talking to others, fun scenes of active violence in he protecting her, she protecting him. frankly, this goes on too long for me. began to annoy. not concise, powerful writing, but too many words for too little story...
on third and on reads, thought of how this is soap opera fantasy, how sex, when they finally do it, can never be as hot as anticipated, though maybe more so in these fantasies, in thinking about it, wanting it, imagining it etc. also saw how important ‘family values’ becomes. well yes so he is violent, crazy, damaged etc. but all he really needs is love of good woman, who accepts his history, sees his hurt, understands his fury... do i sound cynical now? i do not mean to. this unfortunately recalls real life romantic entanglements between women letter-writers and men on death row... pleasant fantasy but sometimes the man is just shit and/or evil. but this is fantastic romance. that this ruggedly handsome killer is more essentially moral than either those he must kill or those who created him, is damaged child, is tortured... these are all reasons/excuses etc for him to be the absolutely right man...
i did most appreciate the female character, who is perhaps the target demographic for this book (idealized as this is fantasy...). she is strong, survivor, smart, sexy. yes she is immediately sexually fantasizing about him, but even better he is immediately sexually fantasizing about her... i think this could offer good insights to many men who wonder just what it is (some many all...) women fantasize about in men. why him? has he got money (of course...)? is he hot in bed (never hurts...)? does he have wonder cock (this is fantasy...)? it seems to help that he can be reasonably shit to other men, ignore other women, speak in monosyllables, never express emotions (until her...) and, well, be really hot. so to be misunderstood is good. i have possibly never followed this pattern irl, i have always tried to be reasonably reasonable to other men, to notice all women (not difficult...), speak, as one girl said, ‘so many words without actually answering any of my questions...etc’. and if misunderstood, well that is part of how i am and never has had any deliberately sexually attractive reasoning... as many men, i am not now and have never been this romantic fantasy ideal. ‘girls/women want to be loved for more than big breasts, boys/men want to be loved for more than big wallets’ (or something). on the other, this is fantasy...
this is long. there is much time to get bored. in litcrit deconstruction or whatever i try to find structures, themes, things like that, and then again whether it matters or not i have read these few leopard books in no particular order... well she does write well, i can certainly read this more than that shades woman... but now i think maybe i will try whatever male popular war/violence fantasies that are similar intent and i have also not much read...
later addition, forgot to mention: it is necessary to be leopard to fill role of either character...
I think this is one of my favorites from Christine so far. Evangeline is a leopard shifter who has hidding from her family after her father dropped her off in the swamp to save her from her grandfather who would think nothing of killing her. Evangeline has always kept to herself so when she opened her bakery she loved it because she could interact with people but not much, until Alonzo walks in her bakery. Alonzo is a killer, being a Russian leopard makes him the deadliest of them all but for some reason he is calm around Evangeline. His real name is Fyodor which he doesn't use to keep his ancestry hidden but he has no problem sharing that with Evangeline. His world is dangerous even more than hers that she wants no part of but they can't help it and their leopards recognize each other as mates. Someone has put a price on Evangeline and Fyodor will take out anyone who would hurt her but he is still in the mob and he can't hide that from her. This story is about love and learning to trust each other and your inner self and even though there is a lot of violence there is a lot of family that just gives you a great feeling. The story makes you understand the feelings from the person and animal and I was sorry to see it end. Reviewed on behalf of Once upon an Alpha
I am a more recent fan of Christine Feehan's. I started with the Dark series and have just started moving into this series. I am so amazed at the worlds that Christine creates. It doesn't seem to matter the story, you are just drawn into the descriptions and the many characters and the scenes that just jump off the page. This book is no different for me. I loved seeing the relationship build slowly overtime for the two main characters. It was a great seeing them grow. I can't wait for more from this author and for this series.
I enjoyed booked 9 in the series. It can also be read as a stand alone, so don't let series deter you. The women are strong and the men are dominant, which is to be expected with Christine Feehan books, but bottom line, what comes through is the women are the true strength and Evangeline was spectacular. I enjoyed her as a character and was so thrilled this book was not all about sex. It was loyalty, commitment, overcoming obstacles and still loving. Thank you Christine. You leave me waiting for Timor, Gorya and Mitya story!
This book surprised me. I'm not a huge fan of this series because I don't like the majority of the author's heroes or how 'mates' aren't really all that special in this world.
However, this hero was fucking awesome!! Loved him!! The heroine was great too but she got on my nerves with her pushing the hero away. But he more than made up for her being annoying so I was good with that. I really want to read more about his brother and cousins stories so hopefully those will be written one day soon :)
This is one of my favorite books by this author! I love the intensity between the characters, the feelings of family between the men, and the way the relationship evolves. The author did a fabulous job of creating an addition to her leopard world that flows with the previous books and stands out all on its own. These two characters were meant to have the perfect HEA. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.
This was a 3 star for me for the most part, but the police scene where the hero gets jerked off while talking to the police....IT was STUPID and didn't fit the scene at all! So no 3 Stars for you. This wasn't as bad as some of the books that CF has done lately, but certainly not one of her best...which is seems to be CF's new normal.
I could not put this book down. I loved the intense emotional pull that Alonzo felt for Evangeline. I also like that their relationship wasn't rushed. That it took time, he kept coming around because he couldn't resist being away from her and the peace and calm she brought to him. That she could look at him and realize he was a dangerous man but see something so much more in him, that she had to care about him, be there for him, but at the same time not lose herself to him. She could still be strong, sassy and bold. He could not totally dominate her because her will and nature were also strong. I loved her interaction with her leopard self Bebe, their bond is strong and forged from early childhood. They look out and protect each other. The trust and bond between them was amazing.
Then to watch the men close to him care for and feel protective of her too, of course that left me so very excited to see their stories unfold.
One of my favorite books in Christine's leopard series. You have everything you could look for, action, suspense, romance, (sensual and emotional), drama and even laughter. You cannot go wrong with this book or this series!
The leopard series can be some what hard reads with the very dominant, my way or the highway males, but as you watch each relationship grow and change you fall in love all over again with this series. What do you get when you take a man who has never known love , and put him with a woman, who has had to hide all her life? Leopard's Fury brings together Alonzo and Evangeline, two of the most unlikely people to ever be together. Alonzo came from a family and knew only violence and abuse, this was his life until the day he walked into Evangeline's bakery. As soon as he saw her, he felt a calm that he had never felt before, something about her called to him. As soon as she saw him Evangeline knew what he was, the very thing she had escaped from, but there was something about him that still drew her to him. Evangeline had spent all her life hiding out from her family and her true nature but this one man drew her like no other ever had.

REVIEW: A hot sexy story about two leopards who have seen their share of childhood pain. Their dark and dangerous life also made the love story more beautiful, in how they were lucky enough to find each other. I got a little lost in the crime-boss and territory issues, but not enough to worry about. Despite Alonzo’s cool and dominating demeanor, I liked him. Evangeline was a complex character for a number of reasons, and that made some of her more frustrating actions, make sense. Constant action, danger and a super sexy romance made this an exciting read.

Yes the hero wasn't an abusive asshole! It's been awhile since this series had a H that I loved. Alonzo was all that I wanted: a badass take charge H who fiercely loves the h. I also liked the h.
Something was missing from the story to make it a 5 star read but I'm not sure what. The action at the end wasn't fully developed. Sadly the Sex didn't happen until 62% into the story.
One of my favorites in the series. I've been re reading Burning Wild which I loved. I noticed a similar writing styles between the books. CF didn't use humor to gloss over feelings & emotional pain.
After being isolated most of her life, Evangeline Tregre has made her way to San Antonio, Texas where she has started her own bakery. Then TROUBLE walks through her door in the form of Alonzo Massi. From the beginning this couple will wrap themselves around your heart and tear it into pieces before putting it back together. Of course, they do not have a smooth road to travel but along the way are some very nice moments with characters from previous books. I so can't wait to see where this storyline takes us in future books.
Christine Feehan did it again. What an amazing book! The beautiful story, action, amazing characters. It was great to see of the old character back. Evangline and Alanzo is mostly likely my 2nd fave couple in the series. They manage to move Remy and Bijou to 3rd place.
The brothers are so awesome and hot. I love them. Hope we get their stories soon as well.
Alonzo/Fyodor (H) was intense!! I enjoyed this story even more than Burning Wild (book 3) because the H was not a manwhore and he has been celibate for a while before meeting Evangeline (h).
The romance was also a slow burn. They kinda knew each other for a year before any acknowledgement of their attraction. I loved how the H was all mine-mine-mine!!
Pretty typical Feehan. Better than some but for me it lost steam after the hero and heroine got together in the middle. Their conflict was resolved too early which made the second half of the book much less interesting.
I'm still not happy with the overly controlling manipulation men dictating to the female partners. Its that whole 'you're here for my happiness and pleasure only' thing that bugs me. The male characters know the women more than themselves, know what they need more than they do, and say it until they believe it.
All that aside Alonzo has serious baggage that comes with him, so does Eva. The two of them are broken bits who find a sort of mirror reflection of themselves in one another.
Oddly I felt Leopards Fury could have been done as a novella and made the same point instead of being a full novel.
Still its been a vast improvement on all Christine's other books lately so there was still plenty to like. I just didn't agree with how she felt male characters should treat women in relationships. I do recommend Leopards Fury as a read because its written well and its a good story.
Really enjoyed this installment in the series. I find both of our characters very engaging, and the way that the world evolved in this one is a joy as well. I know we will see a lot of these characters from that. As with any of the books in this series, we have an alpha male as the protagonist, so if that isn't something you like in your literature, you should probably steer clear of this series. One thing I appreciated about this particular pairing, is that he was incredibly patient with her, and they took their time getting more comfortable with each other before becoming sexual. That is something that can be rushed sometimes in these novels. All in all, I like Feehan's formula with this series, and will continue to read them!

REVIEW: 4.25 stars-- LEOPARD’S FURY is the ninth installment in Christine Feehan’s contemporary, adult LEOPARD SERIES paranormal, romance series focusing on the supernatural world of the Leopard shifter. This is baker Evangeline Tregre, and businessman and Mafia Don Alonzo Massi’s story line. LEOPOARD’S FURY can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Several previous story line couples and characters play secondary and supporting roles including Jake and Emma, Eli and Cat, Elijah and Siena, Drake and Saria, as well as Joshua Tregre, Evangeline’s first cousin.
Told from several third person perspectives LEOPARD’S FURY focuses on Mafia Don Alonzo Mazzi’s need and draw towards baker Evangeline Tregre. For close to one year Alonzo has been drawn to Evangeline, visiting her bakery, ensuring her safety and making sure no other male comes close to the woman that calms the beast within. Alonzo knows that to begin a relationship with Evangeline Tregre could place our heroine in the direct line of fire when the illegal side of his business world seeks revenge. What ensues is Alonzo’s slow seduction of Evangline, and the search for the person responsible for the threats against Evangeline’s life.
Abandoned as a small child in the Louisiana swamps, Evangeline is a woman who left the Bayou in search of peace and an escape from a life of abuse and neglect. Alonzo’s backstory is heartbreaking and rife with death and destruction. Growing up in an abusive world set Alonzo’s leopard on a path of darkness and revenge. Our hero’s quiet demeanor hides a dark and lonely existence for a dangerous leopard shifter-baring his heart and his soul to Evangeline Tregre places Alonzo in a position to lose it all.
LEOPARD’S FURY is a passionate story line of fated mates. I am pleased that Christine Feehan has returned to her original style of romance writing without the need for copious amounts of graphic violence and abuse against women and children. The premise is entertaining, engrossing, and compelling; the characters are charismatic, spirited but flawed. We are introduced to several new Leopard shifters including Jeremiah Wheating as well as Alonzo’s brothers and cousins-Gorya, Timur and Mitya. The romance is sensual and seductive without the need for abusive power and control.
Leopard's Fury was a wonderful read. Alonzo/Fyodor Amurov is our anti hero, who's so close to the edge that he thinks one day he may have to destroy himself to protect others. I adored how Fyodor went from Iceman when dealing with his business associates to a very caring and gentle person when courting, and dealing with Evangeline, and her personal demons. Evangeline created her own family with Fyodor, his brother, and cousins. She labeled them her "boys." Considering their background, that show of affection and her protective nature toward Fyodor won their hearts and loyalty.
The leopards speaking to their counterparts is amazing, and I hope Christine keeps that in future books. Bebe is a little hussy, but she protected her girl.
It was so nice to catch up with Emma, Catalina, Sienna, and Saria. Their mates are pussycats when it comes to the care of their wives/mates.
We met many new characters, and I can't wait to see what type of females Christine will she give to Joshua Tregre, and Sevastyan Amurov.
There is an excerpt of POWER GAME at the end of LEOPARD'S FURY.
(In advance, sorry for my english, but I hate this book so much that I don care my gramatica) OMG don´t bother this book is awful really awful, I dont know who this writer is anymore..... So no velvet helmet, but the main caracther is the worst he is a stoker a criminal and a murder but it is ok because in his heart is loyal and bla bla bla... Evangeline has a really original back history but it does not matter because Feehan do not spend much time in that, for me thats the problem I really do not care about the main character it is all the same every single book, bad temper male, nice women (always virgin) a violent inner leopard. It just me or she changes the dinamic whit the leopards in this book?? Why in all the new books in every series of feehan are Russian guys in it?? she has a russian fetiche now?? Why all the russian are in a mafia?? I dont know what is worst Feehan for write the same book every year or me for reading it...
I don't know whether it's me or the author, but I just don't get a thrill from Feehan anymore. I've loved her work in the past, but it's like she writes a few books in a series and then it kind of dies. Her last few books just haven't done it for me. I keep coming back because this Leopard series has been a fave, I loved the first five books, and I so want to love them again. This one was better than the last couple of Sisters of the Heart books which have also died for me after loving he first three. I was so excited for Elijah's book and after starting it I was like, what, what have you done to Elijah? At least this one she toned down the neanderthal in her hero, but I'll have to see about the next books. I'm on the fence, with this one being an improvement, but just not up to the standard of the first few books.
