Some cowboys are outta this world…

Astronaut Jason "Ace" McCoy tried to escape Cole's Hill, Texas—and the memory of Molly Tanner's dark eyes and strawberry-scented hair—among the stars. Now he and Molly have jointly inherited her father's struggling ranch. And having failed his latest medical tests, Ace is on leave—maybe forever.

He's determined to sort things out with the ranch and get back to Houston as soon as possible. What he wasn't counting on is that Molly's only gotten more beautiful over the years…and she still wants him. The passion between them is hotter than rocket fuel—and just as dangerous. He can't promise anything as long as there's a chance to go on another mission. But even in orbit, this attraction has no rules…and no limits.

This was a pleasant read, but I kind of wish it had been a SuperRomance or a Special Edition as opposed to a Blaze. The author addresses grief in this book, which belies the Blaze reputation of fun! sexy! flirty!, but I wanted more of that angst. I wanted to wallow in it. And, you know, the author has to throw the sex scenes in here because it's a Blaze. Don't get me wrong, everything is well written and I loved the premise of the series, I just wanted the story to spin out in a different Harlequin line direction. If you're a Blaze fan and/or a space nerd - I recommend it.

"No Limits" Space Cowboys One by Katherine Garbera
Release Date August 23, 2016

*An ARC was provided by the author in exchange for an honest review.

I admit I was thrilled to receive an advanced copy of this book. I have read many of Katherine's books and enjoyed them all. "No Limits" has two of my favorite things; cowboys and astronauts. Growing up I was always fascinated with the night sky . There were a lot of what I believe is accurate detail regarding NASA. I can only imagine the research that went into this book.

Our hero, Jason, "Ace," is temporarily grounded from missions due to medical reasons. He has recently inherited half of the ranch where he grew up. His partner is Molly Tanner, a woman he hasn't seen for sixteen years. Jason always felt a strong connection to Molly when they were younger. Molly's father was his mentor and the man who rescued him from a situation where he was homeless with no family. Although he hasn't seen her, Molly has crossed his mind during the years he was making his dreams come true. Back then he didn't hesitate to leave the ranch and Molly when the time came for him to make something of his life. He knew if he gave into his feelings for Molly, he wouldn't leave. So now he is hesitant to return for the same reasons. Nothing is as important to Jason as being an astronaut and part of the space programs. It's his calling. Unfortunately he repeated this fact throughout the whole book and it irritated me because I had to wonder if there was going to be a happy ending. At times, I believed Jason cared about being an astronaut more than he did about Molly. But I knew he loved her.

Molly was a strong character despite the fact she was emotional and insecure sometimes. Not only had she recently lost her father, she knows that Jason is leaving as soon as he is allowed back to active duty. I understood Molly's feelings and reactions and I loved how she spoke her mind. Molly was loyal and selfless and I admired her for it.

This story was sweet, emotional and well written. I did not find this book predictable. Because many times I was wrong when I inferred where things were heading. In addition there were intense, honest feelings and believable dialogue. There is a HEA that Molly and Jason were happy with; it was not exactly what I expected or predicted. In the end I was happy for them but I admit I would have liked the ending to go a little differently. But that is only my opinion based on what I like. I will definitely read the next in this series and am looking forward it.

Great book. I'm a space nut myself and this is very believable.

Ace is left an orphan growing up and is sent to a ranch in his teenage years. This is where he meets Molly and a man he comes to accept as a spiritual father. He then leaves and joins the military and then onto NASA. After a mission he finds his 'father' has died and he must go back for the reading of the will. Prior to this he meets up with Molly and they find they are joint owners in the ranch. However, the ranch is having money troubles and they need to find a way to save it. Then Ace also has a complication from his last mission which he must over come or his career will come to an end as well. Then come the feelings Molly and Ace have always had for each other.

Very well written book and the characters are believable. The events which happen are realistic as well. As my husband and I spent time talking to a past operations commander, the way people and events happen in the story are spot on. I cannot wait for the rest of the series.

4 1/2 STARS!

No Limits is the kick-off to a new “Space Cowboys” series by Katherine Garbera that brings us on a venture into a world that we don’t read much about in romance … and it was fun!

Astronaut Jason “Ace” McCoy hasn’t been home to Cole’s Hill, Texas in 13 years. He left behind his teenage crush long ago to explore his dreams in the stars. Now he’s grounded due to some medical issues and heading to the ranch that he jointly inherited to try to get it sorted out before he is due back in Houston.

Molly Tanner hasn’t forgotten Jason in all these years, and she’s not overly happy her Dad put them both together by leaving them the ranch jointly. It doesn’t take long with them being around each other for that same old passion to roar it’s head and sweep them away. Can she ever be enough to hold his heart or will he forever leave her when space comes calling again?

DNF at 25%

This just wasn't holding my attention. I just don't like the Blaze line, but thought I would give this one a try because the hero is an astronaut. Not my cup of tea

No Limits (Space Cowboys #1)
by Katherine Garbera (Goodreads Author)

I won this from GoodReads
Genre: Romance short novel
Charecters:
Ace: Ace is left an orphan growing up and is sent to a ranch in his teenage years. Astronaut Jason “Ace” McCoy hasn’t been home to Cole’s Hill, Texas in 13 years. Jason, "Ace," is temporarily grounded from missions due to medical reasons.
He always loved the isolation that the space station brought. Seeing the universe, literally, right in front of his eyes. The two sides of the man he is, ‘Jason’ and ‘Ace’. Jason, the man he used to be, the mixed-up delinquent, or Ace, the man who had seen the stars, the galaxy and the universe. He has recently inherited half of the ranch where he grew up. He left behind his teenage crush long ago to explore his dreams in the stars. Back then he didn't hesitate to leave the ranch and Molly when the time came for him to make something of his life. Now he returns to try to get it sorted out before he is due back in Houston. Ace also has a complication from his last mission which he must over come or his career will come to an end as well.
Molly's father was his mentor and the man who rescued him from a situation where he was homeless with no family.
Molly Tanner: Molly is the daughter of Mick and now Ace's partner a woman he hasn't seen for sixteen years. Molly Tanner hasn’t forgotten Jason in all these years. She has blossomed into a beautiful woman and she still wants Ace even after so many years. Molly’s honesty eats away at Ace’s heart and her strength only makes him yearn for her. Not only had she recently lost her father, she knows that Jason is leaving as soon as he is allowed back to active duty. She’s not overly happy her Dad put them both together by leaving them the ranch jointly. However, the ranch is having money troubles and they need to find a way to save it.

"You boldly go," she said. "Don't forget that, Ace. You came from the streets and made it to the stars. Nothing is going to keep you grounded. Not your bone-density problems, not this ranch and, I promise you, not me.Their attraction was mutual from the first time they met but they never acted upon it, but now when they meet again, it was stronger than ever.

A recommended read for those who loves the space or just the cowboy. That being said it was a great character study and piece on NASA and the side effects for astronauts and their choices.

When you reach for the stars sometimes it’s the ground you end up with and sometimes you manage the universe.

Molly Tanner had her heart broken by every man she ever loved, from her first boyfriend up to the most recent. Right now though she was dealing with the heartbreak of her father’s death and that he left her the ranch with “Ace.” She wasn’t so sure as to how she was going to deal with him again… Could she be an adult? Or would she still be just as much in love with him as she ever was?

Jason “Ace” McCoy needed more. He had always needed more, the moon, the stars, he needed everything. So when he had been accepted into NASA he jumped and left everything on earth behind. Including two of the most important people in the world to him. Now that he was facing a possible grounding he needed to know if she could ever understand why he had needed to go.

Thrown together by her father’s death Molly and Ace had to figure out a way to make the ranch work together, or face losing it, her father’s legacy and themselves. Could they have the moon and the stars as well as the earth and the ground?

There isn’t a Garbera book that is not well written. It’s just not possible, but this one was harder for me. It felt a little more forced and not as romantic or even as steamy as her normal novels. That being said it was a great character study and piece on NASA and the side effects for astronauts and their choices. It is a good book, just a little different from Ms. Garbera’s normal tendencies.

In life we all have choices to make. But most if not all times we settle for choices which give us the most pride, satisfaction and joy. It is the same for Jason ‘Ace’ McCoy. He must choose what he wants to do with his life. Should he chose love or follow his dreams? Ace had had a tough and lonely childhood. If it hadn’t been for Mick Tanner his life would have been different. Now an astronaut, Ace is on leave when he discovers he has inherited half of the failing Tanner ranch from Mick whilst the other half belonged to Molly Tanner. From an orphan to a man who has seen the world from outer space, Ace must now make the choice of his life. The Molly he meets at the ranch isn’t the Molly he once knew. She has blossomed into a beautiful woman and she still wants Ace even after so many years. Molly’s honesty eats away at Ace’s heart and her strength only makes him yearn for her. And though he wants to escape their attraction he instead finds himself drawn to her. The tug-o-war of emotions as both their wills are tested and tried makes them stronger, draws them closer. Katherine Garbera toys with the emotions of Molly and Ace, giving them plenty reasons why they should walk away from each other yet at the same time getting inside their heads with every reason why they should work through their differences. Overall, an emotionally engaging story that explores the concept of: choice.

No Limits by Katherine Garbera

Ace is an astronaut who is grounded because he didn't pass his physical and is told that he has inherited half an ranch that is struggling to make it with Mollie the owners daughter owning the other half. He goes to the ranch and Mollie is there. Mollie has had crush on him for years and he choose to leave and become an astronaut instead of staying and maybe becoming a ranch he followed his dreams. In the book they spend time together fall in love and when he gets his strength back and is able to go on space mission he has to decide whether to go or stay. He decided that he has to go, Mollie encourages him to go and follow his dreams and then come home to her. It was a very good book. Different from what I normally read and I would recommend you read if you enjoy a well written romance.

I received this book for free via Goodreads First Reads.

When I read romance novels I do so knowing I am not the target audience.

This is a good book. It has an interesting (if a little slow) plot and mixes up two separate worlds in a skillful manner. It might even have created a new genre.

The characters are well fleshed out and the sex is not too intrusive. It is a relatively quick read that a lot of people would enjoy. I hope the other books in the series match it and I think it deserves 4 stars.

This book had an intriguing premise mixing astronauts and ranching from the start.
It's an enjoyable read and while the way most of the book had little interaction with secondary characters, normally would take away from a story - in this case it works perfectly for Molly and Jason alongside the book location.
Loved the HEA ending and that it wasn't just a HEA for Molly and Jason as a couple.

No Limits by Katherine Garbera is the first book in her Space Cowboys series, which combines two of my favorite things: astronomy and cowboys. :D I was excited to read No Limits and enjoyed it overall, though there were moments when the pacing of the story felt a bit slow to me.

Astronaut Jason "Ace" McCoy has just completed an extended mission on the International Space Station. As part of NASA's long term goal of sending a mission to Mars, Jason has been evaluated to determine how the human body handles being in microgravity for long periods of time. Upon return to Earth, Jason is devastated to learn that he has lost a significant amount of bone density--more than expected. As such, he has been grounded until his bone density levels improve.

Meanwhile, Jason has just learned that he has inherited half of a Texas ranch. His co-inheritor is Molly Tanner, who he first met when they were teenagers. Jason had a rough family situation growing up and Molly's father took him in, becoming a mentor to him in the process. With the recent death of Molly's father and the co-inheritance, Molly and Jason reconnect and have to decide what to do with the ranch now that it's theirs.

As Molly and Jason get back into the groove of friendship, their relationship turns into a physical one, with the mutual understanding that it's temporary. But as Jason begins to accept the possibility that he might never be cleared to go back into space again, he also considers the idea of a future with Molly.

I liked both characters. Molly has been hurt by love in the past, so she's hesitant to commit to a serious relationship with Jason. She's also still grieving over the loss of her father, so she's in a vulnerable place emotionally. On top of all this, she wants to do right by her father and make the best choices for the family ranch. As for Jason, I liked him a lot because even though he's the best at his job, he's not arrogant or a jerk about it. And when it comes to Molly, he's careful with her and supportive as they navigate the new directions both of their lives are going in.

For me, the main drawback was the pacing of the story, which was quite slow. It's a short book, but it took me a while to work through it simply because it didn't always hold my attention. There's a lot of push and pull and internal conflict for both characters, to the point where it felt repetitive. Lastly, the ending felt anticlimactic after so much buildup to the question of whether or not Jason would return to space and what that meant for his future with Molly.

Overall, though, I liked the book--especially all the geeky NASA references and plenty of steamy moments--so I plan on reading the next book in the series.
