Undercover FBI agent Ethan Gunn shouldn't break his cover to protect Roni, but he won't watch her die, either. Despite his FBI information that says she's involved in the crime ring, Ethan knows she's innocent. So he risks it all to help her break free. But now, with killers and the FBI on their trail, Ethan must find a way to keep her safe…and clear her name.

FBI agent Ethan Gunn has been working undercover for a year now trying to gain enough evidence to bring down a big trafficking ring of which Veronica (Roni) Spencer is supposedly a part of. Roni owns a race-car track and is kidnapped when she discovers stolen vehicles in one of her garages. Ethan is posing as one of the criminals and won’t stand by and watch his ‘boss’ murder this strong, very spunky woman but that might mean blowing his cover. The FBI is convinced that Roni is involved with the trafficking but from all Ethan has seen she’s innocent. Now the criminals and the FBI are out to get them both. Someone has set Roni up with a pretty tight case against her and Ethan’s real boss thinks he’s gone rogue. It becomes a race against time and a fight for their lives as they try to figure out who’s behind the set-up.
Blindsided is one of those stories that keeps you turning pages from start to finish. It seems like there is something happening on just about every page. Roni is a strong leading lady with a big dose of spunk. She does that to hide the real her from the world. Ethan is a great leading man, strong yet tender, who doesn’t think much of himself because of where he came from. I loved watching these two together and seeing them grow and change throughout the story. It made me think of how man looks on the outward but God looks on the heart. There are twists and turns and honestly, I wasn’t sure who Ethan and Roni should trust. I never did figure out who was behind the set-up until it was revealed. I love that because it keeps you moving through the story to find out the answers. If you enjoy a story that keeps you on your toes (and on the edge of your seat) then Blindsided is the book for you. It is the second book in the Roads to Danger series but I didn’t feel lost at all not having read the first book. However, it did make me want to go back and read the first book (Silent Night Pursuit)! Her tagline is ‘writing higher purpose stories at high speed’ and I can assure you she did just that! Highly recommended.

A few favorite quotes:
I’ve been there. When it was God and me, only. He was always with me. Sure, there were times I doubted it, but I know now He never left me. And He hasn’t left you either, Agent Ethan Gunn.
“Stand back,” Ethan warned with a voice so menacing she pushed into the wooden walls to follow his order. Where was her kind, protective Ethan she’d come to know and…care about? “State your name, or I shoot,” Ethan said. Roni didn’t get that kind feeling now. But the way his arm kept her behind him, she did get the protective feeling. That much hadn’t changed. Knowing he stood before her calmed her even in the presence of someone who meant to harm her.
God was working in her. He was marking her as His. She stood exposed in the light, but for the first time in her life it didn’t scare her. She hoped the people of her town would see God’s mark over the ones on her neck, but she also hoped her scars would actually welcome people around her, because scars were something everyone had in common.

This is the second book in the Roads to Danger Series. Katy does an awesome job writing intrigues and suspense stories. I love to read her work. This story is well written, action packed, and full of faith. I know you will love it. Veronica Spencer owns a race track. It's her dream is to teach driver how to race but her uncle is doing everything he can to stop her. She goes out to one of the garages and finds stolen cars. Before she could figure out what is going on she is abducted. The man who found her would have killed her if not for one of his workers suggesting they ransom her off. Undercover FBI Agent Ethan Gunn manages to stop his boss from killing the girl. The girl was one of the reasons he was here. She was a part of his investigation according to all the evidence she was the drug trafficker but Ethan came to think they had it all wrong. Someone is setting her up. They are attacked at every turn they make. A journey of two broken souls trying to survive in a cruel vicious world. God has a plan for these two. A plan for a hope and a future. God has a plan for you too if you will just trust Him and let Him go to work in your life.
BAM! Veronica was certainly blindsided. Someone wanted her kidnapped and/or dead. It was either family, friends or someone she once thought she loved.
Who could she trust? It appeared as though she was completely on her own. If the opportunity presented itself, could she be resourceful enough to escape?
Being a race car driver and instructor may not be enough. As Veronica accelerates through the story, you’ll find yourself accelerating through this book. It’s a book I just couldn’t put down. I had to know how it was going to end. Ms Lee’s books do that to me.
Thank you so much, Katy, for giving me another suspense involving the Spencer family. This is a good stand alone read, but you’ll appreciate it more if you read Silent Night Pursuit first. I can hardly wait for the next book in this Roads to Danger series. I want to know more about Veronica’s mysterious brother.
***A special thank you to the author for providing a review copy.***
A heroine with Ninja James Bond driving skills. Car chases worthy of an action movie. A heroine who knows her own mind and doesn't back down from a fight. A hero who is sworn to serve and protect and is determined to do so whether the lady is willing or not. Uber bad guys galore and enough suspense and romance to guarantee you'll devour Blindsided in one fell swoop. I did.
And just an FYI, this is the second book in the Roads to Danger series. It reads perfectly fine as a standalone, but there are some familiar characters to become reacquainted with if you are a fan of Silent Pursuit, including an update on Lacey and Wade which was a fun bonus.
More than a pretty face, gutsy, Veronica Spencer has been framed. “Someone she knew and trusted wanted her dead.” Chameleon Ethan Gunn has risen from a life of poverty. “Nobody would miss him.” This story is packed full of action, drama, human issues, and romance. The quick pace kept me breathless. Themes of grand theft auto, car cloning, and human trafficking set a blistering pace. Introspective elements of faith lost and restored.
“You can’t win the race if you are tangled up in your past.”

4.5 stars This is a fast-paced mystery novel about car-racing and criminals. I honestly couldn't put it down and read it in one sitting, so it definitely flows well and holds the interest! I really have been enjoying this series. Roni and Ethan are truly engaging and memorable characters, and it's fun to see them work together (?) to solve this criminal's plan. It has car chases and even a helicopter pursuit, so don't begin reading if you are hoping to fall asleep.
Blindsided by Katy Lee is the second book in the Roads to Danger Series. Blindsided was the perfect book for me to escape in this weekend. I love how Roni was a take charge kind of girl and at the same time very human. Admittedly in the first paragraph I wasn't really sure if I was going to like her but within the first couple chapters I absolutely loved her. Ethan was the perfect match for her. He was an FBI agent undercover working an investigation that looked as if Roni was involved. Maddie was a great addition as a secondary character. She challenged them and made them think about their faith.

"This is the second installment in Lee’s Roads to Danger trilogy. The unusual career choice of the heroine adds a nice spin to the plot. Solid pacing builds with speed, just like Veronica’s driving throughout the numerous action-filled scenes" (4 stars @ RT Book Reviews).
