High Pressure System: Before E-Day

Rate this book
Book 2 (Part 5 in the Serial) Before E-Day Micah has been busy working all the overtime he can as a construction worker building the bunker so it will be ready in time for residents before Evacuation Day. Not realizing how close E-Day is, he didn’t request to have his mother and sisters join him in time. When he finally asks Brandon, the man in charge, he’s denied. Micah’s not going to take no for an answer. Desperate to find a solution because of his grave mistake, he’s willing to go to extreme measures to bring them to safety before E-Day. However, he didn’t realize how dangerous that would be or how many secrets he would uncover. The intense beginning of Season Two of the High Pressure System Serial.

Great book

Wonderful books. I can't wait for the final installment in this series to come out. I highly recommend this and the previous books in this series.

Part Five cannot be called a prequel to the other four parts of High Pressure System. It starts where Part Four leaves off - with Rachel in hospital, being visited by Micah, and ends with Rachel's arrival on E-day when Micah notices the lonely girl with her heavy pet carrier. What happens in between is Micah's story of how he was able to take his mother and sisters to a place of debatable safety while dodging looters and inspection patrols during frightening periods of worsening weather.

Micah loves his family. He is determined to keep what he still has after losing his father and brother in a road accident. After missing his chance to bring his mother and sisters to his bunker, he takes enormous risks to move them to a place where they appear to have the best chance of survival.

The writing is tense, emotions are supercharged, and the story of the whole danger-fraught journey is absolutely believable. I am looking forward to reading the next instalment of this intriguing story.
