Don’t Be Deceived! Christians everywhere are facing opposition from unseen but powerful spiritual enemies that are seeking to conquer us spirit, soul, and body. With relentless deceptions, Satan is scheming to destroy the church from within, keeping us from the divine love and protection of God. But what can we do? In Protection from Deception , renowned Bible scholar Derek Prince will equip you You, too, can uncover the enemy’s strategies, effectively engage in spiritual battles—and win!
Derek Prince (1915-2003), was an International Bible teacher and founder of Derek Prince Ministries International, wrote more than fifty books. He was born in India of British parents. Educated as a scholar of Greek and Latin at Eton College and Cambridge University, England, he held a Fellowship in Ancient and Modern Philosophy at King’s College. He also studied Hebrew and Aramaic, at Cambridge University and the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. His daily radio broadcast, Derek Prince Legacy Radio, still reaches listeners around the world.
In some sense Derek Prince was an amazing teacher on some doctrines. In this book, I wonder if he was not a little deceived himself with men like William Branham. Branham taught some of the most vile doctrines, yet Prince does not even allude to that.
"(3) And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the desciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world? (4) And Jesus answered and said unto them, See that no man deceive you. (5) For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many." Mathew 24:3-5
It has been impressed upon myself to share a post concerning Scripture verses, but i shall be posting King James Versions along with a few very popular modern-day translations (and growing ever popular based on the evidence/sales). This is because i hope to show anyone who might be interested that with the 'original' and infallible Word of God, that of the KJV, it is possible to discern a coherent and meaningful narrative from the Holy Bible, whereas it can be seen that this is 'not' possible using the translations/interpretations of the more contemporary versions, that of man (leastways, this is my own sincere and honest conclusion).
Psalm 104:3 (King James Version)
"Who layeth the beams of his chambers upon the waters: who maketh the clouds his chariot: who walked upon the wings of the wind"
New Living Translation
"You lay out the rafters of your home on the rain clouds, you make the clouds your chariot, you ride upon the wings of the wind"
The Message version
"You built your palace on the ocean deeps, made a chariot out of the clouds, and took of you wind wings"
New International Readers Version (NIRV)
"O Lord my God, you are very great; you are clothed with splendour and majesty; and lays the beams of his upper chambers on their waters. He made the clouds his chariot and rides on the wings of the wind. He makes wind his messengers, flames of fire his servants"
The Passion 'Interpretation'
"You build your balconies with light beams and ride as a king on a chariot you made from clouds. You fly upon the wings of the wind"
Please take a good look and consider these verses thoughtfully (and prayerfully if needs be). OK, my understanding of this verse, along with that of Psalm 148:4 and Revelation 15:2 as a 'collective', is that it is a description of heaven and that the sea of glass is 'calm water' and the reason why people appear they can 'walk on water' is because it is as 'natural' to those who abide in heaven to walk on water as it is for us on earth to walk on it (please read John' description of heaven in Revelation chapters 4 and 5). The 'mingled with fire' verse is in reference to the 'stars' that we can observe from the opposite side of heaven (i promise you faithfully that the mainstream scientific teaching you currently believe to be True is anything but. Mainstream teaching for the most part is absolute 'bunk/junk' for the brain.......i find it quite incredible that professed followers of the Faith so readily accept what they are 'spoonfed' when we are 'already' informed Heavenly Father and Lord Jesus in the Holy Bible (KJV) that Satan the devil 'is' indeed the 'father of lies', so, armed with this knowledge, don't you feel/think that he (Satan) wouldn't take advantage of all the technology at his disposal to his advantage?.......Think!) The verse in Psalm 148:4 just below 'confirms' to the seeker of a Truth that there do indeed 'be' waters above the heavens. Please also ponder and consider these KJV verses:
"The heavens 'declare' his glory, and the firmament sheweth his handiwork" Psalm 19:1
"When the morning stars 'sang together', and all the sons of God shouted for joy" Job 38:7
Next up is Psalm 148:4 in KJV (original)
"Praise him ye heavens of heavens, and ye waters that 'be' above the waters"
NLT version
"Praise him skies above, praise him, vapours high above the clouds"
The Message version
"Praise him, high heaven, praise him, heavenly rain clouds"
NIRV version
"Praise him you highest heavens, praise him you waters above the heavens"
The Passion version
"The cosmic chorus of praise, hallelujah! Praise the Lord. Let the skies be filled with praise and the highest heavens with shouts of glory"
Again, please study and consider the original KJV to that of the modern-day texts.
Next we have Mathew 18:18 in original KJV
"Verily I say unto you. Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven"
NLT version
"I tell you the truth, whatever you forbid on earth will be considered forbidden in heaven, and whatsoever you permit on earth will be permitted in heaven"
The Message
"Take this most seriously: a yes on earth is yes in heaven, a no on earth is no in heaven"
The Passion 'Interpretation'
"Receive thus Truth: whatever you forbid on earth will be considered forbidden in heaven, and whatever you release on earth will be considered to be released in heaven"
NIRV version is somewhat surprisingly faithful to the KJV original, that said, Satan the devil is quite prepared to serve up a whole plate-full of Truth, just so you get to swallow his one lie/deception, 'if' it suits his purpose.
"As above,so below" is an esoteric saying of Hermeticism, the religion of Freemasonry, the enemy of Almighty God and His kingdom (if you research said saying and Hermeticism, you will notice their god is Baphomet, the half man, half female, abomination of 'dualism' the modern-day occult worship of Satan the devil......."do what thou wilt" is yet another popular quote, as is "hidden in plain sight" and "my eyes are wide shut to your actions (depravities)"
"Again, I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven. For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I in the midst of them" Matthew 18:19-20
My own understanding of Mathew 18 verses 18 to 20, is this: that our actions, be they either wicked/evil or good/righteous, are recorded/filed (for want of better words) in heaven. In the Book of Daniel chapter 10 verses 10 to 12, we are privy to a very descriptive 'wrestling' between the Angel sent in 'answer' ie response to Daniel's prayer, and that of 'the Prince of Persia' who is a 'fallen angel' ie a principality, a power/authority, a dominion. Daniel's initial prayer began some 21 days earlier than the visit by said Angel and subsequent conversation (please go read yourself as very insightful). In the Book of Revelation, 'the books are opened' and judgement of the world's peoples begins (both past and present) in earnest, determining just where, exactly they will all habitat as individuals, and this according to their 'works' and the condition of the 'heart'. Note: the fact that the Lord Jesus Himself informs the reader that "anything asked for in Jesus Christ' name shall be done for them by our Father in heaven" to myself strongly implies that this verse is alluding to another reality/poss worlds, but this is of course pure conjecture on my part, as it is quite frankly impossible to prove or disprove.
Next up we have Revelation 15:2 in KJV (original)
"And I saw as it were a sea of glass mingled with fire: and them that had gotten victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark, and over the number of his name, stand on the sea of glass, having the harps of God"
The Message version
"I saw something like a sea made of glass, the glass all shot through with fire. Carrying harps of God, triumphant over the Beast, its image, and the number of its name, the saved ones stood on the sea of glass"
The Passion 'Interpretation'
"Then I saw what looked like a vast sea of glass blended with fiery flames. Standing beside the sea were those who continually conquer the wild beast, his image and the number of his name"
NLT version
"I saw before me what seemed to be a glass sea mixed wth fire. And on it stood all the people who had been victorious over the beast and his statue, and the number representing his name. They were all holding harps that God had given the"
NIRV version
"Then I saw something that looked like a sea of glass mixed with fire. Standing beside the sea were those who had won the battle over the beast. They had also overcome the statue and the number of his name. They held harps given to them by God"
I find it rather 'remiss' ie conspicuous that the 'mark' of the beast, that those who are even vaguely farmiliar with in the Holy Bible's End Time Prophecy, even on the big screen, has been 'omitted' by not just one, but 'all' of these modern-day versions/interpretations of Almighty God' infallible Word. Romans 6:16 informs the seeker of Truth that we are 'servants' ie 'slaves' to the thoughts we have and act-out here on this earth.......if it is not of Almighty God (from the KJV) then it 'must' be of Satan the devil, as there is 'nothing' in between, just these two options ie 'choices' we make on a daily basis here on this earth.
The Message version mentions that those who were 'saved' were standing on the sea of glass. As previously stated, it is my firm and sincere opinion that 'saved' people are those who do 'not' go into the lake of fire.......they also do 'not' enter into the gates of heaven either, assuming these individuals never 'overcome, endured till the end, were without blemish ie spot, blameless and without sin.' (as per Scripture ie the Word of God). It is my understanding they are the ones who get another chance to 'pass the test' in the next world ie creation of Almighty God' (and so it goes).
Revelation 22 verse 19 (KJV original)
"And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things that are written in this book"
NIRV version
"Suppose anyone takes away from the book of this prophecy, then God shall take away from that person the blessing told about in this book. God will take away their share in the tree of life. God will also take away their place in the Holy City"
The Message and New Living Translation are 'the same' as that above, the NIRV version.
The Passion 'interpretation'
"And if anyone subtracts from the prophetic words of this book, God will remove his portion from the Tree of Life in the holy city, which are described in this book"
Please look and ponder ie consider carefully the choice of text chosen by 'man' over that of our Creator Father. If you are someone who claims to be farmiliar with the Word of God and yet don't see the rather 'obvious' deception being perpetrated here, then you've got a serious problem, a very big one in my own honest, but very firm opinion, and I would urge you to take a good long, hard look at the 'evidence' and pray on it in earnest ie with a 'sincere heart'.......Amen.
"In the beginning, God created the 'heaven' (singular) and the earth. And the earth 'was' without form and void; and darkness 'was' upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good: and God 'divided' the light from the darkness. And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day" Genesis 1:1-5 (KJV original)
The Passion 'interpretation'
"When God created the 'heavens' and the earth, the earth was completely formless and empty, with nothing but darkness draped over the deep. God' Spirit swept over the face of the waters. And then God announced, "let there be light" and light burst forth. And God saw the light as pleasing and beautiful, he used the light to dispel the darkness. God called the light "Day" and the darkness "Night". And so evening gave way to morning - first day"
The Message version
"First this: God created the 'heavens' and the earth - all you see, all you don't see. Earth was a soup of nothingness, a bottomless emptiness, an inky blackness. God' Spirit brooded like a bird above the watery abyss. God spoke, "Light" and light appeared. God saw that light was good and seperate light from dark. God named the light Day, he named the dark Night. It was evening, it was morning, Day One"
New Living Translation version is very similar to The Message (above)
The International Readers Version
"In the beginning, God created the 'heavens' and the earth. The earth didn't have any shape. And it was empty. There was darkness over the face of the waves. At that time, the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. God said, "let there be light" and there was light. God saw that the light was good. He seperate the light from the darkness. God called the light "Day". He called the darkness "Night." There was evening, and there was morning. It was day one"
John chapter 1 verses 1-5 (KJV original)
"In the beginning 'was' the word, and the word 'was' with God, and the word 'was' God. The same 'was' in the beginning, with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that had been made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not"
Matthew chapter 4 tell of the beginning of Jesus Christ' ministry here on this earth. He wonders off into the dessert on his own to fast for 40 days and nights and at the end is approached by the Tempter (who is none other than Satan the devil himself). Jesus Christ, who 'is' God in the flesh, is understandably in a very weakened state, and Satan begins to do his 'routine' on Jesus Christ in verses 4, 7 & 10, but Jesus Christ rebukes Satan the devil 'every-time' with the statement "it is written' ie the rhema, the Word of God. To which Satan the devil has absolutely 'no' response, none whatsoever.......Amen. So, we defeat the power of Satan by the Word of our testimony (Revelation 12:11) which is prayer and supplication 'by' uttering the written Word of God (not the written word of man). Let me attempt to paint a scenario if i may! You find yourself in a situation not too dissimilar to that of Jesus Christ (under demonic attack) and you start to rebuke Satan the devil by quoting from a modern-day Bible, only it has words written by man and not God, and so goes something like this, "the Scriptures say" or you could try, "Jesus answered by quoting Deuteronomy" or you could try, "No, the Scriptures say".......i sincerely hope you see the seriousness and folly of tampering with God' Word, which 'are' life to those of us who have eyes to see and ears to listen.
"As for God, his way is perfect, the word of the LORD 'is' flawless. He is a shield to all those who take refuge in him. For who 'is' God save the LORD? or who 'is' a Rock save our God? Psalm 18:30-31 (something for the Roman Catholic to consider).
"And even as they did not like to retain God in 'their' knowledge, God gave them over to a 'reprobate' mind, to do those things which are not convenient (un-seemly ie un-godly)" Romans 1:28
Apostasy is the 'rejection' of revealed Truth, otherwise known as 'falling away from a standing position' as it can be seen that the Word of God (Truth) 'stands', whereas a lie, a falsehood, will 'always' fall flat on it face (where it belongs) when exposed for what it is, an affront to the senses. Evidence shows that the KJV Holy Bible narrative ie Truth, is ever being ignored, ridiculed and blasphemed in our modern-day world.
"Let the sinner be consumed out of the earth, and let the wicked be no more. Bless thou the LORD, O my soul. Praise ye the LORD" Psalm 104:35
PS: it was impressed upon myself to take a closer look at the name of Yahweh, that name which has been given to that of our Creator Father and yet, it has 'no foundation' in Truth (don't believe me? then go look to confirm yourself as it is vitally important you do just that).
We have the letters YHWH and that is it, nothing else.......no letter E and no letter A to be found here, there or anywhere so, not a vowel to be seen (or heard) at all.
Now, with that Truth established (as far as i, myself am concerned and to anyone who might be reading this post, i would be more than happy to have someone explain otherwise if there point was based on verifiable Truth), it was then impressed upon myself to take a closer look at both Psalm 18 and 22, and most particularly verses 23 and 27 to 29, and i will post both the original KJV alongside that of The Passion 'interpretation'.
Up first Psalm 22 in KJV original Word of God.
Verse 23, "Ye that fear the LORD, praise him; all ye the seed of Jacob, glorify him; and fear him, all ye the seed of Israel"
Verses 27-29, "All the ends of the world shall remember and turn unto the LORD: and all the kindreds of the nations shall worship before thee. For the kingdom'is' the LORD'S: and he 'is' the governor among the nations. All 'they that be' fat upon earth shall eat and worship: all they that go down to the dust shall bow before him: and none can keep alive his own soul"
The Passion
Verse 23, "Those who fear Yahweh, praise him! Let all the seed of Jacob glorify him with your praises. Stand in awe of him, all you offspring of Israel!"
Verses 27-29, "From the four corners of the earth, the peoples of the world will remember and return to Yahweh. Every nation will come and worship him. For Yahweh is King of all, who takes charge of all the nations. The 'wealthy' of this world will feast in fellowship with him right alongside the humble of heart, bowing down to the dust, 'foresaking' their own souls. They will come and worship this worthy King"
Then we have Psalm 18 and verses 10 to 12 in KJV original first:
"And he rode upon a cherub, and did fly: yea, he did fly upon the wings of the wind. He made darkness his secret place; his pavilion round about him 'were' dark waters 'and' thick clouds of the skies. At the brightness 'that was' before him his thick clouds passed, hail 'stones' and coals of fire"
The Passion
"Swiftly he rode to earth as the stormy sky was lowered. He rode a chariot of thunderclouds amidst thick darkness; his steed was a cherub, soaring on outstretched wings of 'Spirit-Wind.' Wrapped in the thick-cloud darkness, his thunder-tabernacle surrounded him. He hid himself in 'mystery-darkness;' the dense rainclouds were his garments. Suddenly the brilliance of his presence broke through with 'lightning bolts' and hail - a tempest dropping coals of fire"
Do you see the rather 'obvious' allusion to Satan here?
This was an interesting read. Derek Prince explains how this former world is ran by Satan inside the new world order. Many are easily being deceived and lead to reject the Lord. He unveil information on how we, as true Christians, are not to be lured in to the schemes of the Antichrist. Much information throughout this book however, the last few chapters were great eye-openers for me.
This is a remarkable book. It comprehensively discusses how deception seeks to assert itself in our lives, while offering helpful and theological explanations of how we position ourselves to receive protection from its influence. Jesus didn’t leave us defenceless against the wiles of His enemy. Derek Prince has compiled a helpful reminder of that.
Derek Prince is a much loved teacher in the Pentecostal Christian church. This is my first time in reading any of his books and I can see why people do appreciate him. His teaching is very practical challenging the reader ( student ) to examine themselves.
What particularly surprised me is the way Derek openly, honestly but with sincere encouragement rebukes ( corrects ) the charismatic movement, cautioning it against pride and to follow principle of testing and confirming as taught in scripture. I found this made a good base to follow on afterwards with his main theme of learning and relearning the bible to be able to discern the truth and not be wayward led.
Excellent explanations of deception and false teaching in the church today. Very clear and bible based, every Christian ought to read this and learn from it.
