What if your ex-husband was an abusive, dirty cop, and he was convinced he would get you back someday. What if he was willing to do anything to make that happen? Do you think it would scare off your new boyfriend, a strong, hot firefighter? Not if he has secrets of his own ...
Six full-length novels and one novella. 500,370 words. Over 1500 pages.
Books 1-7 of the best-selling Edge of the Heat Series. This is the complete series (for now) and also includes three free books The Billionaire's Secret Kink 1. Unauthorized Affair, and Hide My Memories.
Edge of the Heat follows four couples on their journey from disaster to happily ever after. Here is the synopsis for book one, but I don't want to include all of the descriptions here, because they include spoilers.
Following a near death experience, firefighter/paramedic Emma Hill's world is turned upside down. Haunted by a vision of the man who could very well be her soul mate, Emma is desperate to find that man, but fear stands in her way.
With a maniacal ex-husband determined to get her back, Emma struggles to stay clear of him or risk living a life riddled by quiet desperation and abuse. Fighting with a dirty cop is dangerous enough, but when that dirty cop is her ex-husband the stakes are raised to disastrous levels.
Craig Masterson, the firefighter who saved Emma's life, finds himself falling for her. When he learns who her ex-husband is, he realizes that this is a battle he may not win.
Choosing to love her is a deadly game. If he can stay alive, their love may flourish, but only if he can defeat her ex.
I got this as a book set (1-7) and am so glad I did. From book 1 chapter 1 to the end of book 7 there is action, suspense, romance and some steamy sex scenes. There are hot FBI men, Firefighters and Military men. I love how books flow from one to the next and the characters develop as each book progresses. If you were to get these books one at a time expect some serious cliff hangers (which is way I'm glad I got all 7 at once). These series took me 5 days to read and I am a quick reader. I would recommend this series to anyone that has about a week free time because once you start book 1 you are not going to want to stop till all 7 are read. Going to download book 8 now (so excited to read it).
While this book had so many unbelievable circumstances, I couldn't put it down! I was addicted from the beginning. So many strong characters. The corruption, heroes, suspense, and hot characters made this book so exciting to read. I don't have a favorite character because I loved them all! Great book. Can't wait to read more of your work. Thanks
I gave the series a 4 because the SEX was a little too explicit for me. However, all stories were well written and interesting. I will continue to follow this author.
Emma lacked substance and was an annoyingly painful character. Also pick a profession - you are either a firefighter or an EMT - you may be an EMT that volunteers with the fire department but you aren’t employed by both.
The inaccuracies in this book(s) bothered me almost as much as lack of character development. Examples
1 - I’ve never heard of a hospital that offered courtesy cars. I googled to see if that was a thing. I found it no where. I found courtesy cars at car dealerships and courtesy shuttles at the airport.
2 - how are these people healing so quickly from gunshot wounds?
3 - why is Dani getting jealous in a life and death situation
Sara was the only saving grace to this series. While her story was far fetched she was badass and saved herself and others.
Overall this series didn’t work for me and I’m thankful I got it with a romance package monthly subscription. It was 44+ hours long and I ended up listening to it at 1.5 speed to get through it. It felt poorly thought out and poorly written.

This is a great KU library read. The ongoing storyline begins with Emma, a paramedic, and Craig, an undercover FBI agent/fireman who saves her life. It introduces Vivian, Emma's twin sister, separated at birth, and Craig's boss, Hawk. It brings in Emma's partner Jerry and Sara, the physical therapist/spy he falls for. And it introduces JT, a Marine triplet brother Emma and Vivian knew nothing about, along with Dani, a reporter who falls for him while they are held prisoner in the Sinai Desert. Throw in a bad cop ex husband, a corrupt politician or three, a traitorous Marine, an evil doctor, a billionaire hacker with a penchant for brunettes, and you have a suspense filled run to the finish line. And there are bonus excerpts from spinoff books at the end. I can't wait to get started. This is a must read for romantic suspense junkies.
I almost never give up on a book. This being a box set, I was a bit conflicted. I gave it about a book and a half before I called it quits. Maybe books 3-7 are great… I’ll never know. 1st, I listened to the audiobooks. The narrator’s breathing is so loud it’s distracting. I shouldn’t hear each large inhale as she gears up for a phrase. 2nd, the story line… I just didn’t feel like it was going anywhere interesting. I can normally enjoy a predictable storyline if the characters are engaging, this was predictable with characters that, even though the author tried to build an engaging backstory, I didn’t feel anything for them.
If I want a great book then Lisa is my go to girl, she never leaves me hanging. There are always things you never see coming, twists and turns that have you squirming in your seat and thrills that will have you reading through your fingers. Thrills, murder, mystery and intrigue, loss and fears, horror and anxieties, hate and love are just a few of the emotions that you will feel right along with our characters. Anything Lisa Ladew I love and can’t get enough of and I love love love this series. This is one series that you will kick yourself if you don’t read it.
This is the second time I’ve read this series. Lisa’s books are well-written. They capture the reader, and you can’t put them down. Instantly, you fall in love with the characters and can’t help but want it all to work out for them. The story lines are thought out and carry easily from one book to the next. If you are a fan of series reads, this is a great one. There’s a cross-over series too. Don’t miss it!
What a fantastic read from start to finish. Crammed full of characters you'll love. A must read. I found it very hard to put down. A strong sub plot it begins with a most dastardly crime. As the plot unfolds the story twists and turns so much you don't think they can possibly find their way out of the mess. Lisa thank you for a brilliant read, it was like my own personal mini series. IM GOING TO GET THE NEXT BOOK TO SEE WHAT THEY GET UP TO NEXT.
These are really good romance books if you enjoy suspense and some mystery thrown in. There is tons of action which helped me continue reading (even when the romances got a bit predictable). I ended up having to pick up one of the other bundles to find out what happens in one of the other books included in this bundle, and I may even pick up another (or 2). Definitely check out this author if you enjoy romance.
This book of continuous story was wonderful. Everything that happened was either excruciatingly bad or supremely good. Emma, Vivian, JT were triplets separated at birth and didn't even know about the other. Sara and Dani met their men after Emma and Vivian found Craig and Hawk. Sara found Jerry and Dani found JT. There is kidnapping and murder, attempted murder, government espionage, you name it, it's going on in this book.

I really liked Lisa Ladew's way of telling these thrilling stories with strong, well developed characters and thought provoking plots. As one story ended, I just couldn't wait for the next to begin. All the interaction between the main characters was smooth and seamless, with no 'huh?' moments whatsoever. Really fun and exciting, loved them all!
I read this series constantly over just a few days. I was hooked from the beginning! The only thing is I think the title is all wrong. The story was thrilling, steamy, action packed and multiple love stories all wrapped up. The characters were all done well and I can't wait to start book 8.
I enjoyed reading every single book in this series! Every one who reads this book/series will enjoy it also! I loved the characters and the action in and out of bed that took place! I recommend this author because I have read quite a few of her books already and just Love her writing! Definitely a series I recommend!
This series sure is something special. I enjoyed all the stories. Each couple and each experience. Never knowing how it would be topped but that it always was! I already have a friend starting it before I had finished. Now to buy book 8. The only issues with the books were they needed some heavy editing but the story was amazing!
This was entertaining all the way through book 5 but I feel like this left me wanting more. So, yeah. just going to call it good and recommend it to anyone that likes a little chaos with their firefighter/undercover agent and emergency medical personnel. I definitely liked the characters, just needed more from the story/plot.
I really wish I had not wasted a credit to get this series. I made myself finish the first book but I could listen to the remaining six. Between the juvenile behavior and listening to the reader taking deep breaths I am done. How it got such high marks on audible I’ll never know. Note to self research all possible reviews not just audible’s.
Wow, this set has the first seven books. I really enjoyed all of them. I laughed a lot, cried a little and couldn’t stop turning the pages.
Each couple had to overcome some extremely difficult situations. They are all strong, fierce and loving. I’m looking forward to more from these characters.
These books keep you wanting for more. I couldn’t read them fast enough. I loved the characters and how realistic they were I almost didn’t want them to end. I would recommend reading these definitely!
This book or should I say all the books were really great reads. My only problem is half way through I got bored, should have had a break and gone back to it, that's my fault. But well definitely be reading book eight.
If you love romance, intrigue, corruption and Hell breaking loose you will love this series. Some and it was very little spots were confusing but then it all came together and you were riding a roller coaster. Thumbs up for this author.
This is a fun KU read. Yes there are some unbelievable circumstances & events, but none that jolted you from the story. None of the characters were whiny or put up on (a big turn off for me). I enjoyed them all.
This has been the very best continuing stories I have ever read. Well thought out story line with continuous threads to weave every one and everything seamlessly together. I’m going to be starting book 8 in the morning.
This was an awesome series. It contained so much action, drama, suspense, compassion and romance throughout each book. My favorite characters was Craig and Jerry. I was really hoping that Jerry was related to the twins.
WOW! if you can stand the narrator then this box set! Then you would love this! Packed with action, happy ever after! Kidnapping, abuse by the government, and more, family have a hand in all that happens and sometimes for the most stupid stuff! No cliff hanger! She knows how to make you want more!

I enjoyed every single minute of this boxset. Seven very entertaining stories. I love how the characters intertwined in each story. I cannot wait to read book eight.
Enjoyed very much, the connections between the characters was great. The love and passion was hot! Only thing that bothered me was the change towards the end with Jarry and Sara not fitting g with the share everything theme.
