Completely Whole takes you on a journey of Wholeness by identifying areas that hinder us from becoming whole— spirit, soul and body. Trauma (stress, shock, suffering, pain, hurts) impacts everyone at one point or another. It has the ability to leave scars imbedded in our hearts and in our souls. We know we hurt don’t know how deep the pain goes until we find ourselves trying to hide behind the pain through temporary remedies that leave us still not healed. Oftentimes, many people try to seek fulfillment from money, relationships, accomplishments, or material things. Others choose to cope with difficult problems by using drugs or alcohol, but they often come up short and soon have to realize that such things do not bring true happiness and fulfillment in life. Completely Whole is a resource filled- guide full of practical and Biblically-based principles, real-life application strategies and prayers to give the readers a holistic approach to living a life of wholeness through Jesus Christ.

“Completely Whole is resource filled- guide full of practical and Biblical-based principles, real-life application strategies and prayers to give the readers a holistic approach to living a life of wholeness through Jesus. Christ. This book is inspiring, optimistic, hopeful and encouraging while providing a clear-cut, scriptural blueprint for each reader to follow as they allow the Word and the power of God to transform their pain and restore their lives on their road to becoming Completely Whole.” From the website of Paulette Harper

”Oftentimes, many people try to seek fulfillment from money, relationships, accomplishments, or material things. Others choose to cope with difficult problems by using drugs or alcohol, but often they come up short and soon have to realize that such things do not bring true happiness and fulfillment in life. How then can we successfully solve the problems that we face and find true happiness and peace in our lives?” Paulette Harper

Stop and reflect on the previous statement and closing question for a moment. The author listed a number of things that people try and find their fulfillment or happiness in but as she rightly stated and has effectively communicated in her book, Completely Whole, none of the things she mentioned or anyone or anything else for that matter other than a relationship with God and his son Jesus Christ will totally satisfy you and make you completely whole. Author Harper answers the closing question with the bold truth – the truth that sets people free – and that is the truth that by having a living and meaningful relationship with Jesus Christ, they can be made completely whole.

Author Harper breaks the book down into 13 different chapters. In the 13 chapters of her book she shares from Scriptures, from her personal life experience as well as from the experiences of others how a person’s broken and defeated life can be transformed into a completely whole and victorious life. It was like someone shared with me once when she saw my profile about being a “brain tumor survivor” and she pointed me in a different and in the right direction I might add, and that is to being a brain tumor overcomer. And that is what the author is communicating with us as the reader…we don’t have to be who we are, living as we are and doing the things we are doing if we are willing to make new decisions and think new thoughts centered around the person of Jesus Christ and His word.

At the end of each chapter author Harper shares both a prayer and a confession and both are equally important. And she puts them in right priority – pray first and then make your confession based on the Word of God, the Word of faith and prayer and then stand back and see the transformation of your life by the Lord. I guess this book is supposed to be a woman’s book and Paulette is a popular women’s conference/retreat speaker but truth is truth and in this case what is good for the goose is certainly good for the gander – meaning that both women and men can benefit from what is written in author Harper’s book.

In the first 4 chapters of her book author Harper lays the essential foundation so we will be able to understand and personalize what is in the other 9 chapters. For example in chapter 5 she writes about how the Lord’s forgiveness has made us whole…and it does. In chapter 6 she shares about how God’s love has made us whole, Chapter 7 about how God’s Word has made us whole, and chapter 8 how faith in the Lord has made us whole. In Chapter 9 she shares about how we “rise” out of our negative and defeating circumstances to a life of wholeness and victory in and through the person and power of Jesus Christ. In Chapter’s 1- through 12 she writes about what being completely whole looks like when it is manifested in our lives and it is so awesome. And she concludes her book in Chapter 13 with a short, to the spiritual point, checklist of Scriptures and Biblical Truths that inform us in Christ we have lacked nothing and will lack nothing. WOW! If you only read chapter 13 of the book and internalized it to where you were thinking it, believing it and living it…man…talk about living a different kind of life. You would be living as the book is titled a life that truly is “Completely Whole.”

If you are longing for spiritual freedom and wholeness this book would be a helpful and insightful book for you to read…but don’t you just buy it and set it on a shelf somewhere in your home or buy it and read it and think to yourself, “that’s nice” and move on with your life as you were before you read the book. No, read it as though you were feasting on a meaty, juicy delicious steak. Read it slowly and thoughtfully. Take time to allow what you are reading to go deep into to your mind and soul and let them absorb it and then watch as God begins to transform your life and make you “Completely Whole.”

Completely whole yet another must read novel, Paulette has expressed and shared the teaching in which she received revelation on to share with others. The part I enjoyed the most obviously the whole book. However, the part about No Easy Way Out stuck out to me. I understood exactly what Paulette was talking about and agree at times as children of God, we want an easy life. We don’t want to go through heart aches, or frustrated days. We don’t want the trials and tribulation that come with the Christian walk. When trials do come, we at times want to curl up in a corner and pray that God will reach out of the skies and give us a hand. With each chapter Paulette shares scriptures and breaks it down in which the readers may understand what it is she is getting at. She then shows her transparency by talking about her very own life and the things she has gone through during certain stages of her life. This book is a good example of showing that even as children of God, we are going to go through things that have the potential to try and tear us done. Paulette stated in her work “that if you continue thinking about past failures and letdowns, it will certainly show in your approach to the uncertainties of life.” Nevertheless, the faith and trust of God will overcome all of that in which we know God is the only one that can make us Completely Whole.
I commend Paulette for a job well done with Completely Whole, and although I have not read her previous works, I am now very interested and excited in doing so. Go out and grab your very own copy of Completely Whole by going on Mrs. Paulette website www.pauletteharper.com

Book Review......My Thoughts on this book!

If you are struggling with any issues, man or woman, this book can and will help you if you will read it! Paulette pens a book chunked full of awesome, helpful information that we all need. As I read this book, I felt like at times she was speaking right at me, and she really was, because the Lord was speaking to me about the issues as I was reading.

The main thing I found special about this book is the author, because I could feel her love and devotion to the Lord, as well as to those who read her book. I really like Paulette's style of writing, giving you questions, causing you to think about what you read. And her first question to us hit me right in the gut! "Wouldn't life be so much better if we could tell God how to do His job?" How many times do I tell God what to do? Even when I pray and give it all to Him, later I find myself trying to figure out how God needs to do this or that. Life would be so much better if I, Joy, would stay out of His way and let Him do the job He wants to do. And Completely Whole gives me the recipe to do that.

Though I read this book fast in order to review it, I will be reading it again, this time to dwell on the words, tips and everything else chunked in here for readers. I highly encourage each one who reads this review to run on out an purchase a copy. This will be a book that will stay as you companion for a long while.

I rec'd this book from the author, Paulette Harper to read and review. The opinions in this review are mine only. I was not required or expected to write a positive review.

This book has a load of godly insight, scriptural information, and how to remove the excuses and get right with GOD. We blame our pain, struggles, and hurts as a reason to not get closer to GOD. Paulette Harper helps us connect the dots, build the bridge from our understanding to His understanding, and where we can become "completely whole" with our Creator--YHWH.

I enjoyed the wisdom from p. 25-28, on lust to greed to wanting and desiring stuff over GOD, what we're willing to do to get it, even pastors or leaders in the pulpit but she gracefully does it in love and from the Word of GOD. Lust is desiring someone or something more than GOD in layman terms. We have to gain the godly perspective of our money (possession), not the world's view. We take it from our ancestors and forefathers (Israelites) and now it's time to get it right...worth the fight.

I also loved how the author gave a detailed outline of the passage/scripture Psalm 23 that so many people quote from in a time of need. I've underlined and highlighted so much in this book and love these passages to use for May shows on Church Hurts and Where is the Love Series, including ministry radio on topics YHWH laid on my heart months prior.

(hope to review some of these passages on "All about Money or Saving Souls" on Church Hurts Saturday, May 21st and discuss on 'salvation' and 'make disciples of Jesus Christ').

Completely Whole can bring you understanding through guidance, example and most importantly a renewed relationship with God through prayer.

The author uses real life examples of lifes stress filled situations. Topics like grief over death, unfaithful spouse, divorce, empty nest syndrome and depression from unknown causes. In the book she also touches on the stress and depression of drug and alcohol addiction whether it be yours or someone you care about.

There are so many situations that can bring us down. We tend to be able to give out great advice and even offer up prayers for others. But when it comes to our own problems we tend to forget to pray. Maybe you are unable to forgive someone or even yourself which can harden ones heart and causes them to turn from God's will.

Completely Whole is very well written. She provides a prayer at the end of each chapter to help readers work through their feelings.

God is constant and always listens.

I highly recommend this book.

I rated this book a 5 out of 5.

This is a wonderful reminder to Christians of the hope we have in Christ Jesus and strength we find in God’s word. In Completely Whole the author takes us on a journey through some of lifes most difficult challenges and encourages us to look to God as our source of hope. She takes a glimpse at the lives of some of our most cherished bible heroes and reminds us that they too were ordinary people who had extraordinary lives. Simply believing that what God had promised he was able to perform.Included at the end of each chapter is a powerful prayer and confession based on scripture.

I enjoyed this book of wisdom. It is well written and easy to understand and follow. I would definitely suggest it to everyone in need of spiritual guidance to read and as a keep on hand reference for encouragement, inspiration and motivation to move on.

In Harper’s book, “completely whole” is defined as: “(1) total recovery from any hurt, injury or wound mentally and emotionally; (2) free of defect or impairment; (3) totally intact in spirit, soul and body: (4) having all necessary parts and elements – totally absolute, not lacking anything , able to handle all circumstances and situations with the God given ability necessary to deal with everything life throws my way.” (Completely Whole, p. 48)
Unfortunately, most (if not all) people struggle so much with what “life has thrown at them” that they never ever reach a complete state or sense of “wholeness”. We spend most of their time lamenting over the “what ifs” in life, we erect barriers that prevent us from reaching the full God given potential that is within each one of us. This not only hampers our relationships with family, friends and others but hampers our personal relationship with God. As Harper states, “As children of God, we want an easy life, without interruptions and difficulties, yet we live in a world where our homes, jobs, families, government, and churches are engulfed in turmoil. We often seek the easy road to circumvent the hurdles…” (p.7) Little do we realize that God, Himself, purposefully places obstacles and hurdles in our way so that we learn from them and in turn experience God more fully as He helps us overcome those obstacles.
“God creates different roads for each of us: some roads are more difficult to ride. God allows certain people to endure more hardships, perils and sorrows. Though the path might be difficult, this is the way in which God has designed for people to find the results that only come from experiencing the flat tires, wreaks, and blow outs of life.” (p.107)
I appreciate how Harper gives practical insight and application in dealing with life’s disappointments by using scripture and personal anecdotes throughout her book. She ends each chapter with a prayer and confession, a stepping-stone of encouragement if you will, for the reader to move forward in an effort to eventually becoming a “completely whole” person.
This is not a “fix it” book. This book will not tell you how to deal with discouragement in life, rather it will allow you to learn from the life lessons that a hardship brings into one’s life without focusing on the hardship itself.
This book can be used for Bible Study or individual study. It is practical and thought-provoking.

Completely Whole by Paulette Harper was fast paced and an easy read. I think this title would be perfect for a new Christian, or someone that needs a better understanding of bible scripture. If you feel like something is missing from your life, then you will enjoy this book.

From the first page Harper talks about how you can make yourself Completely Whole, living by the Word. From relationships, to your way of thinking, to changing the way you look at life, Harper did a great job explaining how you can apply scripture to daily living. She even goes as far as to break down the scripture for a better understanding of what it means and how to make it work for you.

The only thing I didn't care for was she used the King James Version of the Bible a lot, which I never understood. She does have some scripture from the Amplified version and these are a little easier to grasp. I use the New International Version which talks in today's dialogue, and used it to look up the scripture she used to better understand the verse.

My favorite quote that I took away - "No one can do you like God can do you."

All in all, this was a great book for self exploration, and for a better understanding on what they mean when they say, "Live by the Word."

Paulette Harper is an Ordained Minister, and she does public motivational speaking. Her goal is to help women across the board, and I would love to hear her. I think she would be a lot of fun and a true inspiration.

My Rating: It's hard for me to rate inspirational non-fiction and so I'm just going to say what I thought of it.

My Overall Thoughts/Impressions: I'd like to thank Paulette for giving me this to review. I really enjoyed reading this one.

I loved the way Paulette wrote this book. She would pose a series of questions rather than just immediately giving you the answer. This allowed you to think for yourself and draw your own conclusions. I really liked that.

This book didn't feel forced, but instead flowed beautifully and discussed interesting points that I felt like are applicable to almost everybody. I really enjoyed the way Paulette incorporated challenges, scripture quotes, and her own thoughts into this book.

This was an enjoyable book that was inspirational, informative, and enjoyable. This book allowed readers to act upon her words instead of merely being acted upon.

In Summary: A well-written and inspirational read that I really enjoyed. This one didn't seem forced, but instead was genuine and was presented in a way that allowed the reader to get involved and draw their own conclusions.

The Wrap-up: If you like Christian non-fiction or inspirational books, this book is one that I think you would really enjoy and is one that is definitely worth checking out.

My review in a slightly more expanded form appeared here.

I received a copy of Completely Whole for the purpose of reviewing so this is my honest opinion.

Completely Whole is a book that challenges women to examine different areas of their life and to trust God to make them a 'whole' person. She touches on areas such as personal experiences, faith, forgiveness, and God's love in separate chapters and ends each with a prayer designed to help the reader focus on what was discussed in the chapter and the main points the reader should have taken away. The language is encouraging and the teaching designed to be uplifting. Every now and then, the author will go off on a tangent (ie: Considering Ruth washed herself before going to Boaz--symbolizing a cleanse--but the author continues with getting your nails done, etc.--funny, but it trivialized the seriousness of the passage) or will highlight one side of the issue but not the other (ie: in Chapter two she discusses fornication as a battle for single people--when it is also a battle for married people as well--and only touches on waiting for the right person when that point isn't the chapter's main focus).

Overall, I believe this book is a great tool to change and/or encourage the mindset Christians should have about how God sees us, how we are to respond in situations, and the peace we can acheive when we depend on God alone to make us a whole person. It is an uplifting, quick read and the prayers are sincere. I recommend this book.

“No benefit can ever come from regretting our past.” Author Paulette Harper-Johnson takes us on a journey to wholeness, being complete and lacking nothing. This book will open you up, show you your heart and issues, then put you all back together. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book from cover to cover. This book is for everyone, it does not matter where you are at in your journey. The Author used some of her own testimony, scripture and wisdom to provide an excellent guide to the reader. I read this using a kindle app and I must say that did not keep me from highlighting certain key points made by the Author. Completely Whole is definitely a book that I can see myself reading again. ”Move forward, understanding that suffering, pain, and troubles are not necessarily attacks from the enemy, but can be God’s way of bringing you to a place of surety in him. ”

Whole Spirit, Soul and Body,

"Completely Whole" is just that... completely whole. This book deals with topics such as forgiveness, finding your purpose, and spiritual stages of a believer. Each chapter ends with a prayer the readers can refer to when they are in any given situation. In life we are thrown curveballs, and sometimes it leaves us trying to find a common ground, this book will help you find your way out of the dark.

"Completely Whole" touched on certain areas of my life that I struggle with on a daily basis. This is the kind of book that everyone needs to keep on their nightstand, and read before going to bed each night.

I read this book at exactly the right time...my life has felt crazy, in fact, I've been calling it my "mid-mid-life crisis". I've felt lost, but this book helped me so much. It's inspiring and really made me see that God is all I need. Paulette Harper Johnson really knows the bible, the good book of our Lord, and she has a way of writing that spoke to me.

I have thought about the advice and suggestions she gives in this book, prayed the prayers she's written, and honestly, I feel better. Yes, hard times will come my way, but I know that with faith I will survive them. Completely Whole reaffirmed those beliefs.

Thank you for this wonderful novel!

People from all walks of life encounter problems. How we deal with them makes all the difference. Paulette Harper takes the reader through steps of spiritual and emotional healing and inner peace. With fortification from scripture, Paulette brings the reader to an understanding of trials and how to deal with them. This book was very encouraging to me and I would certainly recommend it to anyone who is going through suffering or who desires to counsel someone who is going through difficulties.
