A very practical book on working in a church and seeking to protect the church from fraud. Much of this book is filled with examples of church fraud, which are helpful, but fail to best illustrate what church’s can do to prevent fraud. The overall content of the book is more of a warning than anything. The appendix of the book was much more practical as it gave guidance on how to handle and prevent cases of fraud. This book is not a work for everyone, but for those in vocational ministry it is a necessity.

Provides good resources & a few good strategies while it tells a heartbreaking story, but apart from pushing the idea of “awareness,” it doesn’t present a lot of new information. Additionally, it is written & formatted quite poorly.

I agree with another reviewer that this is a "fascinating, depressing, and helpful book." Good for churches that don't have financial accountability measures in place. We want to trust people, but we also want to verify.

Interesting to see the point of view of people who had actually worked through fraud. Good resources and strategies.
