LaLa has experienced one bad relationship after another. All she has left are her family and friends, until she learns that sometimes family can be your worst hater and undercover enemy.
LaLa's older gang-banging brothers Mali and Zeph are overly-protective and can't seem to grasp that LaLa is grown and can make her own decisions. Mali is determined to hook his sister up with his homeboy Hitta.
Zeph is deadset on reuniting her with her ex-man J-Bone, but J-Bone is a snake in worm's clothing.
Hitta is everything she has ever dreamed of and his persistence eventually pays off. When LaLa's best friend is killed, secrets start to unfold that set off a whirlwind of mistrust, betrayal, and murder. It is LaLa's granny who is her sanity, and Hitta who is her savior. But someone in LaLa's family has done the unthinkable, causing her to reevaluate the people around her and what their true motives are.
Hitta is with her every step of the way; protecting her, caring for her, and doing the unexpected...loving her.
Follow Hitta and LaLa through the City of Angels, where things are not always as they seem. And welcome to Los Angeles...where the playas play.
This story was good. I loved the storyline and it was well written. This story held my interest from the beginning to the end. I don't want to give the story away but I must say that Lala and Hitta definitely made a good couple once they got together. Mali he was bae ,Jayshon he was a dirty dog and I hope that he gets what is coming to him. I'm not telling anything else but I must say that this book will have you wanting more and you will not be able to put it down. LaDonna that cliffhanger though now I need the next part. LaDonna you did an awesome job on this one and maybe one day this story may become a movie. I would definitely recommend this book to others. This book deserves more than five stars.
Wasn’t a fan of all the gang stuff, you didn’t get a feel for all the characters, not even Hitta and Lala as far as them getting into a relationship. So many deaths happened back to back so it took away from the story but it did give you a reason for the main characters to fall so fast. Maybe there’s a book before this but even so, she seemed to know nothing about Hitta. Nothing about the two, other than grieving together, made it seem as though they’d be good for each other.
The way she flipped from what happened with Sin to being over her was a good look at how fast so called friends will turn. Yeah she did her dirty but she was no longer there and she didn’t know about it until after, the way she was falling all out prior to that showed that her love for her was only skin deep. Zeph was over the top with his foolishness and family or not he deserved what he got. I was wondering when the issue in her trunk was going to come back into play but the ending seems to answer that.
No what gonna happen not Hitta and Cantrell. LaLa was catching 4 in a row. Zeph was funny. Grandma was too. I hated what happens to Sin. Once everything's comes out in was shock. Zeph wanted revenge. Hut what his daddy did to LaLa was wrong. Mali was a cool guy. J-Boy and Sin. He was LaLa ex and Sin bestfriend. LaLa took it hard Tina was a junkie and a their. It was a good book funny and sad. I can't wait for part two
This fast-paced drama was sad and entertaining I love granny and I'm so ready to see what happens next the death the deceit ......Baby Cantrell stole my heart ....I'm rooting for la la and betta ..OUT FREAKING STANDING
