The Last Riders #9

Train's Clash

Rate this book
Beware of what you wish for; it might just come true.

Train swore never to let a woman get under his skin unless it meant forever, and forever only meant belonging to The Last Riders. He had believed his one brief sexual encounter with Killyama was a hit it and quit it. Instead, her green eyes haunted his memories. Then when he tried to convince the woman he was serious as his “more the merrier” lifestyle became a painful reminder of the life he lived, Killyama used his own club against him to keep him from what he wanted.

Killyama was holding out for a man who could offer her forever, and Train wasn’t the forever kind of man. He was a Mr. Here and Now; the wicked warrior in her dreams. He might be a walking, talking sex machine, but she needed more than that. So, until he proved she was the only one sharing his bed, the only part of her body he was going to see was her ass walking away.

It's LIVE!!! I heard you will need a tissue and it's a heart gripping story.. So yeah.. I'm kinda afraid to touch this! LOL!
(I hope no one dies in the damn epilogue! FML)

-------------------

“We’re not done.” He then held a soft kiss against her lips for an infinite second.
“Yes, we are.” She pushed him away.
Train stepped up to the truck. “I’ll see you in three months. Don’t forget me.”
“Dude, you’re already a memory,” Killyama said as she turned away.
Train rolled down the window. “Don’t worry; I’ll remind you when I see you again.”

Its Live!!!!! Wohooo Its finally HERE!!!!

"Before he could change his mind,
Train pinned her to the hood, thinking,
Damn! It couldn't feel as good as the last time I kissed her.
However when his tongue entered her mouth, he had to admit he had been mistaken.
It was even better."

I couldn't wait to get Train's story and I definitely wanted to see how he would handle Killyama. So when I started this book my expectations were maybe a little too high, but they were dropped about halfway through the book. I liked the story and the direction the author took these characters in. But it was just too long! I felt like we had out ending more than once only for something else to happen that kept the book still going.

If this had just been a little shorter with some of the storylines cut out I would have loved it. But I felt like instead that this author just didn't know which story she wanted to tell from Killyama and Train so she wrote them all and smashed them into one book. Even with my boredom sometimes I did still enjoy a lot of this story so I would recommend it for any biker romance lovers.

I don't know why I keep doing this to myself, I keep opening Begley's books hoping that maybe this time it'll be different. But as always it's the same thing over and over again. Woman starts off 'I am woman hear me roar' and proceeds to do a complete 360 of her personality.

I was genuinely looking forward to Killyama's story because she's been a very strong character throughout the series. I should have known better. I actually stopped reading Begley's work because her stuff is all the same, you start off with a smart woman who gets in tangled with a man whore, which is OK of course, because he's a man. The woman, of course, hasn't had sex in a really long time or is a virgin.
(There is that one book in which the woman was a last rider and had sex with them all but she spent the entire book apologizing for it and telling us how she never felt anything, so.....it obviously doesn't count)
Either way, in the end, the woman is a caricature of who she was and does whatever the man wants .

Although for some reason, the complete reversal of Killyama's personality just blew my mind. Probably because I forgot what the author does to her strong female characters. For example, Killyama finds out about the biker replacement thing, gets very angry, decides to teach Train a lesson and somehow ends up having sex with Train and the replacement.... twice.

So they start dating and she's lying to him about her work as a Bounty Hunter and I don't understand why? This woman is proud of who she is and what she is, yet she hides her job from her boyfriend ..... the boyfriend who already knows what she does. Absolutely ridiculous. There's no trust in the relationship on either side. He sees her coming out of a supposedly locked room and immediately decides she's doing something nefarious, despite going on and on about how he loves her, proceeds to break up with her, finds out she's doing something good and decides he wants her back....twice.

Oh it gets better! Somehow this bounty Hunter woman ends up part of a supersecret specialized military unit's off the books mission to save someone who rationally and logically should not be alive. Because I for one, do not understand why a rival club would keep someone that's obviously a liability, alive for almost a decade. It's ludicrous, completely irrational and illogical.

This book was a waste of my time. I had high hopes for it, I was rather looking forward to it, and I'm very upset that it turned out to be a steaming pile of sh*t.

biker dude + biker bitch = EPIC!
-------------------
portuguese and english
-------------------

PS: A fábrica poderia explodir e matar todas vadias juntas. Foi só uma ideia! (risada maligna)
----------------------------
I really like the author and I follow her work from the beginning. She actually writes very well and enchants the reader into the universe created by her.
I expected so much of this story that I ended up getting really disappointed.
The heroes follows the pattern of previous ones. Fuck the whores of the Club, expect the heroine get comfortable in his lifestyle and accept their sex parties. I skipped his scenes with the whores.
What most disappointed me was our heroine who just adapting to the behavior of others that she criticized. I was expecting something different.
We discovered the story of childhood and the family of the two heroes. I also noticed that the wives of members resent the behavior of whores at the Club and our heroine noting that soon take action. The whores are always looking to please and call the attention of the members of the Club.
The couple's scenes are very good and the participation of members of the two clubs also very good. The biker bitches have great participation as always.
But it was a good story that kept me from start to finish and that was very emotional moments and with explosive revelations.
I didn't expect this twist in the story. Opens great possibilities for the next stories and left me dying to know more.
Worth a read and I recommend it to those who follow the series and who eagerly awaited this story.

PS: The factory could explode and kill all whores together. It was just an idea! (evil laugh!) #justSaying

UPDATE: JULY 2017

“Son of a fucking bitch! You always go for the balls.” “Hammer, if you know that, you should watch them better.” Killyama snickered,

“Make sure you bring Train back. If anyone’s going to kill that fucker, it’s going to be me.”

SEX OW!
"When Train heard footsteps coming down the hall, his hand instinctively tightened in Sasha’s hair as she sucked on his cock."
"Train lowered his mouth, obeying her silent demand. Pressing his lips on the eager pussy, he created a suction around Jewell’s"

BADASS!
“I’m Rae Stokes with No Escape Bail Bonds.

“So, because some bitches couldn’t take you fucking around on them, you decided it was easier to only fuck bitches who are Last Riders?”

"Killyama shook the thought away. She wasn’t special to Train. No woman was, not unless she was a Last Rider."

DOUBLE STANDARD!
"When she saw Train dancing with Jewell, she turned back around, keeping her expression nonchalant, to meet Crazy Bitch’s eyes.
"I don’t have to put up with this bullshit … The Last Riders share women all the time. You think I’m buying this He-Man attitude because I danced with another man?”
“The problem is, The Last Riders are used to having their cake and eating it, too.”

BITCHES!
“Dammit. Don’t tell me you’re going to turn into a one-woman man now, too. The women still aren’t over losing Lucky. What’s a woman got to do to get laid around here?” Stori pouted, falling back to the bed.

YEP!
"Men could be faithful to a job, to their friends. Hell, they would even be loyal to their dog before they were faithful to their wives."

Sex meant nothing to him. It was about quantity to The Last Riders, not quality. She wouldn’t even be second best to Train. She would be third, or fourth, or fifth. Hell, he probably couldn’t remember which women he fucked the day before, much less the day before that."

WAY TO GO GIRL!
“I decided I deserve more than leftovers.”
"woman who kills a man who cheats on her gets a lighter sentence if she’s not married to the fucker.”"
“So? I bet you don’t bitch to those hos walking around your club naked.”

BITCH!
“You like it?” Stori got out of her chair as Train approached her. “I love it. Thank you.” He lifted her off her feet, giving her a bear hug."

SOOO CUTE!
“I love her, Viper, but I can’t deal with her lies.”

DADDY ISSUES!
“She never told me what happened. Jonas did—they were there also. He said the students had filed in line to shake the president’s hand, and Timothy was standing where they had to pass him. When Rae tried to take his arm and talk to him, he moved away as if he had never seen her before.”
“The day he was killed by his wife, she laughed. She laughed so long and hard that Hammer had to take her to emergency room. They said it was hysteria. They had to give her a sedative to calm her down.”

WOW!
“You smell like a survivor, Gavin. Take a deep breath. You’re free. You’re free.”

POOR GUY!
"I haven’t had sex since the last time we were together. I can’t eat. I don’t drink anymore. I don’t even watch the brothers have sex."

LOL!
“It’s hot as Satan’s dick out here.”

HAPPY DANCE!
“I will never be able to express my gratitude, or The Last Riders’, with words, because they don’t exist. It doesn’t matter that you belong to the Destructors’, because you belong to us, too. Stud and I agreed you’re just too much for one club to handle. You not only got all eight votes, you got every man and woman’s who is a Last Rider.”

TOTALLY AGREE!
“Dude, you’re going to buy me a new mattress before I move into that room.” “You’re joking, right? We always put clean sheets on the beds when we’re done. Do you know how much mattresses cost?” “Do you want to know what it’s going to cost you if you don’t?”

DEVIOUS!
“You can’t give men too much of a good thing.” Especially after she had given all the wives the recipe so they could make it for their husbands anytime they wanted it. During the last two months, she had noticed how the men could barely stomach it anymore."

SEX OM!
"An arm slid around her waist. With Train’s hands on her breast, she tensed. Rider’s desire-thickened voice muttered in her ear, “Just dance. Pretend I’m not here.” Feeling Rider’s body at her back and Train’s at her front made her feel surrounded."

YEP!
"Train is the hero you’ve always needed in your life.”

DEVIOUS!
“Yes. There wasn’t any way I was letting Rider have first dibs on you.”

So excited! Going by the previous books, Train seems to be more dangerous than Shade, as Shade himself said that while he was the best sniper, Train was excellent with whatever weapon was available- that itself made me swoon, not to mention his gentle side with the ladies. And Killyama obviously being the most kickass of the lot, I'm looking forward to the fireworks they set in motion. And IF and only IF Train cheats on her, I'm sooo expecting Killyama to pay him back the SAME way, unlike the other women who took it lying down! Can't wait!!

Once it was announced I bought it and spent all my afternoon reading this book...
were almost 5 hours of reading, with short intervals... I had nothing to do today, so... Well, about this book... Again, a heroine of this series disappoints me. I waited so long for this book, but again, Now I'll read T. M. Frazier, only this woman could save my day. (sorry english isn't my native language)

5 HUGE Train and Killyama stars!!

I love this series but i have to say this is my fave so far!!

I can picture Trains face through all the times Killyama gob-smacks his ass! I loved being able to see what makes both characters tick, as they are both strong willed and stubborn as shit :o)

Can we have a Gavin back story at some point? I feel like he was a big part of the Last Riders at the start.

If you are familiar with this series and the essential man-whoreness of the heroes, this quote may strike you as funny and ridiculous as it did me.

Tonight she wore a silver necklace with a sunburst pendant that covered what was left of the thin line. The silver halter made of a mesh and her black flowy pants gave an elegant appearance until you looked closer and realized the top revealed every curve of her breasts. If he wasn’t a gentleman, he would swear he could see her nipples. He had to raise his eyes to hers, afraid he would go blind if he stared too long.

Yep, the first think I noticed about the Last Rider manwhores heroes is what gentleman they are.

Snicker, snicker, snicker.

I do like Train though. And Shade.

3.50 Stars!

I enjoyed reading this but with great characters like Train and Killyama, I was expecting their chemistry to be off the chart passionate and explosive. What we got instead was more pop than boom with their passion always on simmer and never reaching full boil.

I liked that Killyama’s character remained strong and stayed true to what we read about her in previous books but we also learn that there is a lot hidden underneath that tough exterior. She’s also softhearted and charitable but her upbringing had her fearful of rejection and weakness which caused her to develop this rough and aggressive persona to prevent anyone from hurting her.

In previous books, Train is described as the quiet, laid back member of the Last Riders but underneath his somber demeanor, there is a dangerous edge to his personality that if pushed too far will appear. I saw a little of this but not to the extent of what I expected. I felt at times he was more of a push over than Alpha to Killyama’s aggressive personality. Granted, he had it more difficult than the other members to convince his lady to join the club. Killyama was already a happy member of a different club and her aggressive behavior had the other members of The Last Riders wary, with a good dose of fear, of her joining.

The Biker Bitches as always add some colorful flavor to the books. Their scenes always having me laughing or smiling at the things they say.

As strong as Killyama’s character is, she in the end also succumbs to the “silent manipulation and pressure” of joining the certain “sharing” that all the other member’s women did. A note to the author, a heroine that puts an end to this would be nice.... just saying :-).

Viper (:->) has remained my favorite but that could change. The exposure of Rider’s different side and the surprise news was a nice plot twist that has me curious to see how the author develops these stories.

2.5 stars. The story was ok in some parts but there were others that j just didn't understand.
I didn't feel the chemistry between train and killy. I got why she liked him but not why train liked her. She didn't appear to offer him anymore than the other women in the club. All got once they started dating was lies, misleading, insults. Nothing that you could actually build on. So why he suddenly loved her left me confused.
The whole bounty hunter thing was ok but what the hell then with her running ops and suddenly being able to do military stuff. Left me scratching my head there.
Then there is the whole rider and biker replacement thing. What the hell was that all about??!! Never read anything so stupid as to that is why they let those brother in on their play sexy time. I could not roll my eyes more. So after all the build up I am afraid this one left me a little disappointed. Hopefully riders book will be good.

"Expectations came with chains that you couldn’t break from. Train would be damned if he would let anyone keep him from accomplishing anything he wanted to."

I was so freaking excited about this book. I kept tabs on Jamie's FB wall and she decided to hit publish early. Atta girl!!

If you haven't read her books in her published order you can enjoy this book but you would be missing so many tiny details that have made this MC series one of my all time favorites. Jamie has a way of making scenes in the past important for her future books. She also gives heads up in regards to what might come true in a later book. I don't think I have been as invested in a couple since Shade and Lily's book as I was for Train and Killyama.

"A smart warrior would try to win her hand and win the war. Bring your princess home on her terms when she’s ready."

Train has always been the easy-going Last Rider. He was in the special ops team as some of the other members. He's also a pilot and he made a huge mistake when he gave a ride to Killyama and said the wrong thing. So many things have happened since then but he has never forgotten it. Train knows he wants to be with her one more time. He actually wants to convince her to be part of the Last Riders. Of course, not all the members are in agreement but neither is Killyama. From what we know, she is loyal to the club Stud rules and to her friends. Friends she has had since middle school. She is strong and lethal but as we learned in this book she has such a huge heart but hates to be acknowledged.

Train and Killyama are nothing short of volatile together. They would have to overcome so much to be together. Two clubs, her past, his moronic comment after their first ride together, her job, her friends, and so much more.

“When you sleep at night, dream of me, as I will dream of you. So even in our dreams, we will never be apart.”

Picking up a book in this world is a sure treat for me. Jamie Begley has a way to immerse you in the story. She makes me care deeply about the characters and their vulnerabilities. I was happily surprised with Train. He was patient and loving. He recognized what he had and what he could lose.
Killyama was freaking AMAZING. Such a great character. No wonder the Last Riders could feel threatened by her. She is a darn smart lady, just as many of the female characters are.

I love one of the plot lines. I didn't see it coming and I know it's going to be something Jamie must need to expand on. Cough, cough...Another book, please!!!

I can't finish my review without mentioning all the times this book made me laugh. There were so many. Of course, it also made me cry twice.

I need to say one more thing. I'm greedy. I want Greer, Jo, Ax, Ryder, all the Kids and so many other characters to get a book.

“The fierce five are still standing strong, aren’t we?” Killyama reached out, and Sex Piston took her hand, linking her other hand to Fat Louise’s, who reached for Crazy Bitch’s, who turned to T.A., who got off the bed to take her hand. “Bitches rule. Boys drool.” Killyama spoke the silly chant they promised to keep. “From fat to slim, from bad hair days and bad tatts, we swear never to steal each other’s boyfriends, or never talk about each other behind our backs—”
“I might have broken that one,” Sex Piston interrupted.
Killyama saw Crazy Bitch elbow her without releasing her hand.
“Or stop driving the green cherry breaker we all lost our virginity in—”
“Didn’t Sex Piston lie about that one? Ouch!” Fat Louise complained when T.A pinched her with her free hand.
“Despite husbands with big bikes and bratty kids, we’ll be friends, side by side to the end of fucking time.”
“Technically, Sex Piston moved away,” Crazy Bitch reminded them.
“Bitch, cut me some slack. I drive to town every day just to be with you all.” Sex Piston tried to drop her hands, but they didn’t let her.
“Um … You never said … Just how big is Stud’s bike?” T.A. sniggered. “How do we know you didn’t break that rule, too?”
“I told you about Cade. You all didn’t stop hounding me about the bitch’s code until I did,” Fat Louise voiced.
Killyama fought sleep to hear Sex Piston’s answer.
“Shut up. Stud didn’t get his nickname by driving a moped.”

"Train's Clash" is the story of Killyama and Train.

ITS HERE! The anticipated story is here.

Apart from Shade/Lily, the only couple I cared about was Killyama and Train, and this was so worth it.

Also, I LOVE KILLYAMA.

Our badass bounty hunter and sassy queen scares every Last Rider and Destructor in sight. When a one night stand with Train goes sour, we see them locking horns and bantering in the previous books. We finally delve into the complex mystery that is Killyama, and what makes her the person she is. A woman with a heart of gold, and the skin of a lioness, she gives as good as she gets. Honestly, after 8 books of reading about women who gave into men, we see Killyama tame Train who is utterly smitten and confused throughout the book. He changes his ways, becomes loyal and works hard to be worthy for her, even making sacrifices- albeit sometimes putting his foot in his mouth and having trust issues.
Her past and present is so well written, I laughed and cried with this one and absolutely adore the heroine. Couldnt put it down, what a FANTASTIC read! There is a surprise.. but I wont spoil it. Train was ultimately worthy of her. Also the ending was so amazing.

My only weird question is

Oh boy this was not good. Train was a big let down. Yeah he's known for being the patient, even-tempered brother but that doesn't have to mean boring. But grr he so was. And although Begley created a scene with Train and two of the female members, his play stopped when he decided for sure he wanted Killyama for his own (we're talking months of celibacy). Now in any other book that's usually the formula but Begley is not formulaic. It didn't feel like something Train would realistically do. To be honest, it made me miss Bliss. I loved it when she was around causing trouble.

I knew Killyama would be bristly and scrappy but she was more like a rabid dog. She was working my nerves. I don't even know what Train saw in her. She was always yelling and punching and insulting him. She couldn't make a move without Sex Piston's approval. She was funny at times and by the end I warmed up to her but it was too little too late.

The storyline was all over the place. Some chapters started mid scene where I felt like I was missing something. But then around eighty percent we got the surprise of a lifetime. Like holy shit. But then...nothing. No more mention of it and the cliffhanger was beyond irritating. I also didn't like that there were no hints about which book was next or who was going to couple up. Very disappointing.

Train & Killyama

I wasn’t sure how this was going to go because Train hasn’t had much of a personality, and I haven’t been crazy about the biker bitch’s (BB) books. I can appreciate a h with some fight in her, but the BB’s can be a bit too OTT uber-combative/aggressive for me. I do like some fight in my h’s, especially when it comes to the club girls, but the same way I didn’t like the earlier h’s to be doormats taking everything, I haven’t enjoyed the BB’s being so prickly that nothing happens. But, I found Killyama to be better/more likable than the other two I have read (Sex Piston & Crazy Bitch), and actually enjoyed this more than Cash and Lucky’s books.

The other complaint I have with the BB books which carried over here, is that the over aggressiveness of the ladies tends to turn their men into betas, and that happened to Train. I get he’s supposed to be the silent caring type, but the way the club gals and Killyama road roughshod over him; he came off sort of wimpy to me. 🤷‍♀️

Bottom Line- Ok. The OW drama was low because this h would not put up with anything, and Train was a good boy. There’re a few quick scenes before they’re together, but after they hooked up once.

Future notes- I believe she plans to spin this off. In the epilogue there’s a man looking at a picture of Train with the same chain wallet. Someone comes in and calls him Clash and says Brick is looking for him. I believe based on Shade’s epilogue, Brick is the Prez and Lucky’s grandson. He was checking out Violet, Shade’s granddaughter, which would skip over their (current mcs) kids.

Read 2024:

I read this book again because I am really trying to understand why this book just kept being in my head. It had everything. From a strong female lead to a male lead that was halfway decent, and a plot that was interesting. The entire plot landed on this misunderstanding between the two leads. There’s was attraction but no true trust to fully believe the other could take what each of their true needs are. I come back to this book because it was a turning point in this series and really was the best work out of the series she has from the last riders and everything else. Shade and Lily was meh and lucky with Willa was too religious. No one besides Winter relates to Winter. Beth is a forgotten first book that set the stage but doesn’t give us anything besides the introduction to everything - important but forgettable.

She was so close to having the perfect book and she misses. Every. Time. Killyama gives up way more than Train ever does and it’s so disappointing. I just wish author like Jamie didn’t constantly do this. This is not romance. It’s just sex and that’s why I come back lol use this book to escape, but know there are way better books out there. I think I finally get why I returned to it and after 3 reads, I think I’m finally done understanding why I kept coming back to this book. My why is knowing how weak the plot was. My why is knowing how basic the characters are and my last why is knowing this book is only another stepping stone to making more books with a Galvin or whatever his “new” name is.

Reread 2022:

I remember the hype for this couple. We’re down like 5-7 books and then Train and Killyama gets released.

The hype is real and as you read it. You remember all the guys are actually the same character and only the women actually have some character development.

The main thing I never got over was how easily men share women. I think that’s why I loved killyama so much before and still after this book. She was the complete opposite and did not blend in a non sexual way to the last riders. She called out the stupidness of having a backup for each wife, she called fridays out and sharing out. She wasn’t into that scene and the most she allowed was watching. This is how she blended sexually to the last riders.

I then asked myself, how close club brother are to actual do these big orgies? And I think it takes a VERY specific group of people to do this and allow this. I think it’s great that there’s a version of this to cater to every audience, but I think this books makes me hate the sexuality the last riders stand for. It really reduces the men to horndogs who will never change and women who accept it and change for it. Even Killyama had to change and accept it for Train. Train did not change much. I guess this was their compromise, but man I wish Jamie could write a couple that truly works against all her worlds. I really wonder what that would look like.

Jamie if you take the last idea I want credits and ARC lol

Jamie is a superstar writer, but man her characters sometimes just lose themselves and blend at certain seams that once you read things out of order and give me space, you start to pick at the seams and it ruins everything. I can say she does a WAY better job than her daughter, who need a LOT of review to her stories.

Past review:

I didn't feel the chemistry between the two characters. It felt repetitive in terms of relationship built up, problems, mid-almost breakup, and couple reunion. For such a strong reaction that Jaime said she felt over this book I felt nothing. I really enjoy Jamie, and how Killyama is as a person was beautiful to see transform, but I never understood Train. Train as a character felt half-baked. The more I try to understand this book the more I realize that I don't like Train, don't like Rider either. Sure Train is the patient one, but it didn't not appear that way. I didn't cry for Train or Killyama. I finished the book with an after thought and a laugh, "that's it?" Jamie hyped herself and her readers too much to the point where Trains Clash felt short no matter what could have happened in the book. I should have stopped reading this series after Shade. Shade's second book is something I will never read because it's too lengthy and not relevant enough to be read. The same applies to Winter's Touch. I honestly won't go back and read for a second time the troubles a couple who had an entire book already in the series. It feels to me Jamie is running out ideas and so her characters all feel like cardboard cut outs with slight differences between each character and book. It's not bad, most book series do this but I think Jamie has just bored me. I know longer read the same passion I once felt in her writing. It happens to all authors. Sarah (?) the author of Made Men also hyped Chloe for all the wrong reasons and tried to simplify Chloe as creatively required in order to write the full length book Lucas. I just really dislike authors who won't vocalize 'this book isn't ready, please wait' or 'this book isn't the book you're expecting just fyi' it disturbs me how little faith authors have with their fans. Fans give authors power never forget that. No matter how much you might hate our opinion in such forms as these reviews.

Why the f*ck did you read this book, when you know what Jamie Begley is like?

Yes, yes, I do know what she's like. She loves OW action, arsehole heroes, weak heroines, and absolute truckloads of drama. But very occasionally she does a real number on me. The two books about Shade and Lily are ones I reread ALL THE TIME, and Sex Piston is a good one too. I reviewed Sex Piston the night before and Killyama was one of the Biker Bitches who stood out to me, so I decided to take the plunge and read her book.

Did you like ANYTHING about this book?

Sort of? The thing is, I like Killyama when she's away from Train. She's a bad bitch of a bounty hunter with a smart mouth, and apart from Shade the rest of the Last Riders (who are all pathetic frankly) are scared stiff of her. I also liked her determination never to be married or have kids, and I loved that in terms of relationship development Train was doing a lot of the heavy-duty chasing. Also, Killyama isn't a virgin.

But what didn't you like, seeing as how you gave this two stars...

Almost everything else. The list includes:

❌ Killyama deciding she loves Train at 20% INTO THE BOOK and him knowing about it. And then sending him a bunch of expensive presents.

❌ Though there's slightly less OW drama than there is in other books, he does sleep with someone else after he has sex with her. They aren't together at that point so I could withstand it enough to finish the book, but he's definitely no Stud.

❌ Train is a really bland hero. It didn't feel like he was a good match for Killyama at all.

❌ The weird MFM scenes with Rider... the group sex in this series is always so skeezy and disgusting, and I don't understand how these supposedly alpha men can share their women.

Would you reread this book?

Definitely not. I'm sticking with Shade, Lily, Sex Piston and Stud from now on.

Jamie posted a little snippet on her facebooks for Train's Clash. Here it is!!!
“I’m a pretty easy-going guy, but I will only take so much.” Train’s dark scowl showed he wanted to snap at her for refusing to wear his jacket.
“You warning me?” She jutted out her chin stubbornly.
“Yes.”
“Then I guess we’ll find out which of us has the biggest set of balls.”
“I don’t lose.” Starting the motorcycle, it roared onto the road, gripping the handlebars as if he was wishing they were her neck.
“Neither do I.” Killyama raised her voice, determined that he would hear own warning above the sound of the motor. “Neither do I.”

Yes there is a prologue, yes I will resist it until the book is out. I can do this, I can resist temptation. Hurry Jamie with the rest of the book, I'm weak!!!

Trains story is one I've been waiting for, for a while. I've always felt there is more to him than he lets on and wow, was he worth the wait.

Killyama is without a doubt Mrs Jekyll and Hyde with a capital J but in the best way possible. There is a side to her I've had no idea existed, yes she's a bitch, fiercely loyal to her crew but there is so much more to her that you can't even imagine.

This book blew me away, and OMG no spoiler but didn't see that coming in a million years! Train and Killyama are perfect for each other even if they don't realise it or should I say want to admit it out loud, however if you put it all on the line for someone, risk what you don't believe you can, it might just pay off in the best way possible.

Fabulous book, dare I say, as much as Shade and I LOVED that book!

It looks like the Last Riders have won again...

If only this happened I would immediately give this book a bigger rating. But it looks like it wasn't meant to be...
I don't know how to feel about this book. Killyama mostly stayed truth to herself but I wish some scenes didn't happen. As for Train, I didn't get him or his reasons for falling in love with Killyama. The whole story sounded inconsistent.

I'm done with Last Riders, their lifestyle and behavior towards their wives (and other women) has started to really annoy me. I'll just wait for Crazy Bitch and T.A. to get their books, or a book about Predators.

The whole replacement thing wasn’t for me and others watching while the main characters have sex isn’t for me either.

That ow scene near the start was disgusting....

If I knew this had some form of sharing and having sex while other people are in the room I would not have started this in the first place. I’m so disappointed because I really liked two of this author’s books.

I’ve been looking forward to Train’s Clash for a long time, but after Winter’s Touch, I was a bit trepidatious. It’s been awhile since I’ve been that pissed about a book. I decided to reread some rainbow and unicorn books to kind of clear my head so I went into this with a much better attitude.

The Last Riders isn’t a series that you should read out of order, so if you haven’t read the preceding books, you need to stop right here and go read them–unless you are a safety gang member, in that case don’t even bother, you are going to despise this series. This isn’t your normal club, and sex with others is the rule rather than the exception until a member finds his wife, and even then he may share a bit. Also, I’m pretty open minded with things and even I have wanted to rip the dangly bits off of every single hero in this series.

In some ways Killyama was everything I expected her to be but she also fell short of my very high expectations. The last thing I expected her to have were Daddy issues, but goodness she was eaten up with them. The way her douchebag dad treated her led her to be scared shitless of any kind of relationship or feelings. Instead, she became the absolute meanest, scariest biker bitch of them all, but underneath she had a heart of gold.

I pretty much felt the same way about Train. I loved how hard he pursued Killyama and didn’t quit despite her efforts at sabotaging any kind of relationship. Conversely, he ended up being not near as alpha as I expected which threw me for a loop.

What disappointed me the most was Killyama’s unwillingness to communicate with Train. Sure there were some lame excuses as to why, but they just didn’t hold water. Every time she did something twisted and crazy, even if she had her reasons and was ultimately trying to help, she showed her lack of trust in the man she was supposedly pining over.

Each problem that came up got crazier and crazier. The thing with Sasha was just plain stupid with how easily it could have been solved. The last surprise that the whole team was activated for was just over the top crazy and made no sense. Many of the revelations felt extremely contrived and I found myself saying “WTF” more than once. More and more I’m finding this happening with this series and I’m not a fan.

I liked this book more than Winter’s Touch, and parts of it I really enjoyed. I’m thinking this series is now being switched from my “Must Read List” to my “Maybe If I Get Around To It List”. This makes me sad.

It looks like I am the minority here as I just was not feeling the chemistry between Killyama and Train. I am sorry but the Author did not make me believe in the relationship between them.

Yes she was afraid of letting someone into her life with the way she grew up but I didn't feel that gave her the right to treat Train the way she did - she lied to him all the time and there was always an excuse to why she was the way she was. The author tried to show her softer side but it just was not coming across to me. She just couldn't let it go through the whole book - it just became annoying to me after a while. I also HATED her calling Train lover all the time - it grated on my nerves so much.

I will admit there was one point in the book where I cried because it was actual emotion she was writing about but it had nothing to do with the relationship between K and T. I think that is what was missing for me between Killyama and Train was real emotion.

I hate to give this book a low rating because I was looking forward to Train's book but unfortunately it was very difficult for me to see it with them.

Somehow I keep coming back to these books even though the last few have been quite disappointing to me, this one included. The only reason it was made 2 over 1 star is weirdly enough I felt like Begley must be stalking me because Killyama and I are basically the same person #awkward and I have always loved Train. When I knew that was coming in the beginning of the novel, due to him being such a heavy theme in the book. Mostly I was once again saddened by the writing quality, very choppy and a mess at times. Will I read Rider's book when it comes out....yes and probably. I just can't get enough it seems of these characters.

UPDATED with additional read dates.

Wow!!!! so this book is really different from the others in this series. I cried a lot and it caused me so much stress, but I seriously love Killyama.

“When you sleep at night, dream of me, as I will dream of you. So even in our dreams, we will never be apart.”

"Train" Medina (30-ish, former whore, secretly sweet) was left shaken after giving Rae "Killyama" Stokes (28-ish, bounty hunter, commitment issues, stubborn as hell) the infamous bike ride back in Book 4, Shade’s Fall. He wants Killy badly enough that he’s hoping to convince her to join The Last Riders. Killy isn’t the kind of girl to give second chances, plus, she refuses to put herself in any vulnerable position, and even prefers for people to think the worst of her rather than allow them to see how much she cares.

Killyama used her lies as a barrier between them. He kept trying to find a way around it, but she just built it taller and wider. Train was terrified he wouldn’t be able to reach her in time to keep her from enclosing herself without a chance of escape.

When she and Train start to get close, she does something that makes him break-up with her. He finds out the truth that she did have a very valid reason for doing the things she did. We get to meet Killy's mom, Peyton, and her two pseudo dads, Jonah and Hammer, whom she works with. Then she does something else that causes Train to think the worst, but when the truth comes out - it'll blow your freaking mind. I totally did NOT see the surprise bombshell coming. In the end, they get a HEA – just don’t read the epilogues.

Silently, they made love, the loud music muffling their gasps and moans. He tried desperately to reach her the only way she would allow him to, trying to show her with his body how much he loved her. Trying to drive the words out of her he needed to hear, kissing each part of her body until she was begging for release. Giving up when he couldn’t hold his own climax back any longer, he moaned his love for her in the dark room.

SEX: Thankfully, we get the flashback of the first time they had sex at the 10% mark. Their actual first time in this book is at 16%. There’s more sex in this book than there have been in the others.

CHEATING: No surprise that JB has Train fucking someone at the beginning of this book. God I fucking hate JB for doing that. Thankfully, Train never cheats. Even though it’ll make you think he does, he never does.

TEARS: For me personally, this book had me in my feelings. All of the stuff that happened to Lily? None of that bothered me. Killyama’s daddy issues?? Fucking took me all the way out. All these years later and I STILL cry about it. Don't worry - she didn't suffer any sexual abuse.

TRAIN: Train is so ridiculously sweet at times that it just hurts!! (in a good way). He’s probably the sweetest out of all the men. I'm so glad he never gave up on her and kept fighting for her, despite how difficult she made it. I also adore the fact he told her he loved her!!

LAUGHS: There are also a lot of laughs in this book. You know the Biker B!tches are my faves. Killy caused so much trouble in the clubhouse, and it was hilarious how afraid TLRs were of her. She's my fave woman out of all of them. She's what an FMC should be!!

CROSSOVER: This starts with a situation that happened in Winter’s Touch. That was a good book so you might want to read it.

AUDIO: Elizabeth Hart narrates and she’s still pretty good.

EPILOGUE: During the epilogue, the page starts with, “Sometime in the future…” …. Just don’t read it. It’ll make you cry. HOLY FUCK WHY AM I STILL CRYING!?!?!

“Killy, I don’t want to take anything from you without replacing it with something better…… The women members are no competition, baby. They aren’t even in the same league…..”

I normally don't give books I've finished reading a one-star review, but this was bad. I'm going to stand by my original thought that Begley didn't write this book. Either that or she's churning out crap to meet a commitment. One of the main reasons I say this is because for the preceding 8 books I've had to read the same description of the Last Riders' tattoos. Not in this one.

I don't have the greatest opinion of these books to begin with, but I fully admit to them being a shameless guilty pleasure. That being said, I don't expect much from these books, but I had higher expectations (on the low expectation spectrum) for this book. Train and Kilyama have been eluded to throughout the series and I was actually looking forward to seeing how their relationship developed. This book was a total disappointment. The character development was bad, the back story was lame and Kilyama was a whiny bitch. And let's not forget the sex, because that's why we read these stupid things. The love/sex/whatever scenes in this book were sooo badly written. (Another reason why I don't' think Begley wrote it) Gah! So pissed. Two of the most entertaining characters in the series were cannibalized into a big pile of 'meh'.

Another thing that truly disappointed me was the editing. What a bunch of shit. The grammatical errors and nonsense that constituted sentences were awful. As I said before, this book was an assault on the English language. Again, the caliber of these books is not great, but the writing, flow and thought organization of the preceding books far exceeds the steaming pile of poo this book was. It was a frustrating read on so many levels. It sucks to be disappointed so badly when I went into it with low expections to begin with. Bad, bad, bad. Just walk away!

This book is EVERYTHING! Easily, the best book in the series & Jamie Begley’s best work to date!!

Train’s Clash was so fulfilling, so complete & so incredibly AMAZING! I loved it to pieces!! There was lots of action, a one-of-a-kind romance, sexy Last Riders fun, plenty of laugh out loud moments & a BIG you-won’t-believe-it-til-you-read-it surprise! Couldn’t. Put. It. Down.

Train… OMG this man was a dream come true! He was patient, laid-back, possessive, so damn sexy, intelligent… The list just goes on & on. Loved how he reminded me of Knox & my favorite Last Rider, Cash, at times. The things he was willing to give up & the things he did for his woman provided some totally HUGE *le sigh* moments! Loved his conversation with Killyama’s mother, the little things that he whispered in Killyama’s ear (in other languages too!), the dirt bike scene, when he whipped out his chain & so much more.

Killyama… Talk about a kicka** leading lady! Her confidence, her adrenaline-rush-of-a-job, the way she cares so deeply for others, the way she “takes care of” her man… I absolutely ADORED her & wanna be her when I grow up. It was so cool how she was able to stay true to her character yet compromise on certain things with Train. I was surprised at how level-headed she was with the club girls; choosing instead to give them advice but at the same time being sneaky in obtaining information from them. Definitely one of Jamie Begley's best female characters!

Odds & Ends-
*Rider- Best Birthday party EVER! Talk about a scene-stealer!!
*Hammer & Jonas- Loved how they cared for Killyama & her mom, Peyton. Very curious to see what the future holds for them.
*BIG you-won't-believe-it-til-you-read-it surprise- Was NOT expecting “that” to happen! Holy crow, this changes so much & I LOVE it!!
*Biker Bitches- Awesome as usual. Really enjoyed getting more glimpses into their characters & hope to get a book about Calder & Crazy Bitch sometime in the future!
*The wives- FINALLY we had some #GirlPower going on in the clubhouse! Loved how they banded together against the guys!!
*Sasha & Stori- I really felt the age difference this time around between the club girls (these two) & the guys. Both Sasha & Stori acted very young, immature & needy; wanting praise & touches a lot. I liked that they weren’t real catty in this one but man... they were annoying.

Although this book was oh-so-satisfying, I CANNOT WAIT to get my hands on the next story in Jamie Begley’s ongoing saga! Please, please, please, let it be Greer & Holly’s book!! #TeamGrolly all the way! :)

I loved... LOVED this book! It's right up there with Shade and Lily's story! I've been waiting for Killyama's book and it did not disappoint! Kinda knew she would end up with Train. Until now Train was not particularly noticeable (probably because the previous books weren't about him, lol!), but I loved him! He's soo swieet! I'd expected more (and hoped for a *lot* more) sexual fire works between Killyama and Train though. The sex scenes were quite tame. And, like with all Jamie Begley books, I loved to read about all the other characters and the bond they share.
I like the (Friday night) parties @ the Last Riders... and the debauchery. But with almost all the original Last Riders being married.... well, the parties will become... boring, right? I'd love to read a book with Last Riders who e.g. don't want to end up with just one partner but settle for a menage relationship. (-: And why is none of the Last Riders into some man loving? ;-)
Because this book is about Train, it's a Last Riders book, I get that. However, this book could (and should) have been a Biker Bitches book too, right? With Killyama on the cover, like it was done for Sex Piston and Fat Louise; IMO Killyama definitely deserves to have her own cover!! (-:
I'm definitely, positively, absolutely looking forward to the next JB book!!

Razor is Reid Moore. Viper is Loker James. Knox is Knox Bates. Shade is John Hunter. Cash is Cash Adams. Lucky is Lucky David Dean. Train is Train Medina.
