Sayyida Khadija (RA) one of the greatest women to have set foot on earth, was remembered by history as the first wife of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh). Her merit lies not only in her relationship to our Great Prophet (pbuh) but also in the fact that she was a woman of great character, modesty and nobility. Even in the era of ignorance, when the society was deeply submerged in the depths of darkness, she was rightly known as “Tahira” (meaning – ‘pure’). Thankfully she was born into a family that did not believe in female infanticide, they rather brought her up to be wise, intelligent and insightful. Her life is a source of inspiration for many women. She is the epitome of a Muslim woman in every possible role, a mother, a daughter, and above all a dutiful, obedient wife, who is a source of great joy and support for her husband.
The book “Golden Stories of Sayyida Khadija (RA), Mother Of The Believers” tells us about that part of the Seerah of Prophet (pbuh) that so many of us have been rarely told. It tells us of the sacrifices made and the difficulties endured by the family of Prophet (pbuh). This book is for sure an eye opener, for it opens your eyes to the sufferings experienced in the home of the Prophet (pbuh) while he was struggling to spread the light of Islam.
In our homes when one of our parents is distressed by some external factors we get so worried and depressed. Now imagine this is a Prophet with an important mission, whose life is threatened by his own relatives, who is ridiculed in his initial call to the mission and is exiled to starve and die in Shi’b i Abi Talib, what must it be like for his family? SubhanAllah!!! not a sigh of complaint was ever uttered by the family members of the Prophet (pbuh). Having faith in the decree of Allah swt his family stood by him through thick and thin. This book truly is an inspiration for all of us who face difficult times as a family.
In this book I find the fact very remarkable that prior to Sayyida Khadija’s (RA) marriage to the Prophet (pbuh), she was aware of the fact that perhaps he was a prophet. This is proved by two incidents that occurred in the life of Sayyida Khadija (RA) before her marriage to the Prophet (pbuh). First incident is when a Jewish man addressed the ladies of Makkah during the pilgrimage season while Sayyida Khadija (RA) was also present there, he said
“Respected ladies! A Messenger of God is due to arrive amongst you. Whoever of you finds the opportunity to marry him should do so”
Sayyida Khadija (RA) was not surprised by this piece of news, since she primarily had been informed of it by her cousin Waraqah Ibn Nawfal, who was a learned man.
The second incident was when she appointed the Prophet (pbuh) to carry her goods to as-Sham accompanied by her slave Maysarah. On his return Maysarah related some extraordinary incidents with regards to the Prophet (pbuh), to Sayyidah Khadija (RA). When she narrated those to her cousin Waraqah Ibn Nawfal, his response was
“Khadija (RA) if what you have said is true, then Muhammad (pbuh) would be the Messenger of this nation. I have known that a Messenger, who is due to come from among [the Arabs], is awaited. And it is time for his arrival.”
She must be aware of the Prophet hood to be granted to Muhammad (pbuh), for she was the one who consoled him and firmly stood by him when Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) received his first revelations.
I would definitely recommend the book “Golden Stories of Sayyida Khadija (RA), Mother Of The Believers” to all the Women out there. Written by “Abdul Malik Mujahid” and published by “Darussalam”, the best thing about the book is that the author has restricted his sources to authentic reports. It is surely going to benefit who ever reads it and tries to take lessons from it.
In the end I’d just like to say that no book can ever do justice in appreciating the significance of Sayyida Khadija (RA), the way Prophet (pbuh) has immortalized her value when once he told Aisha (RA) that none of his wives was on a par with with Khadija (RA), for she attested to his nubuwah at a time when everyone else doubted him, spent her wealth to support him when no one else was willing to do so, and mothered his children which no other wives did.

It was a painful read! but most of all beautiful and inspiring you to stand your ground in the face of adversity.

The detail biography of Khadijah (RA) is a detailed biography of her and her children and their struggles throughout their lifetime. May Allah bless them and reward them.

This is a great book for a muslim or anyone else who wants a book that is both painful and uplifting, this book clears up many misunderstanding one might have regarding the Prophet's family.

Recommeded to anyone seeking knowledge about prophet's family, and whoever is looking for a short biography on all his children.

Golden Stories of Sayyida Khadijah: A Biography of Womanly Perfection

An Islamic speaker once said that Khadījah is the standard by which a good wife is measured. So every good woman is a percentage of the woman that she was. Even the most excellent women among us today might embody around 50-60% of the goodness that Khadījah possessed. I remembered this book was present in my digital library and I started to look at it from a new perspective: a biography about Khadjīah is not just like any other biography, it is a narrative guide on how to attain excellence in all areas of womanhood, such as being a righteous Muslimah, wife and mother.

This book is an accessible compilation of narrations surrounding the Mother of the Believers, Khadījah bint Khuwaylid. A lot of the events mentioned in the book also appear in general retellings of the sīrah. However, with the complete focus being on Khadījah it allows us to pause and reflect upon her many virtues. As we read about her unwavering support for the Prophet (ﷺ) and the sacrifices she made for this Dīn, we understand more and more why he (ﷺ) loved her so much.

What I particularly loved about this book were the personal insights given by the author about Khadījah’s merits, such as bringing to our attention the common attributes she shares with two of the other greatest women of Islam, Maryam the mother of ‘Īsā and Ãsiya the wife of Fir’awn. I would have loved to read more of those besides the factual accounts given. Nonetheless, we are provided with enough material to extract valuable lessons from her life ourselves.

To some it may be surprising that the biographies of the Prophet (ﷺ) and Khadījah’s children and grandchildren are also included, but there is a profound wisdom behind this: the effect of a righteous mother can often be seen in the lives of her children, and sometimes even her grandchildren. And what is a greater testimony to this than their daughter, Fātima, being the leader of the women in Paradise (Sahih Al-Bukhari, 3623-3624) and their grandsons, Hasan and Husayn, being the leaders of the youth in Paradise (Jami’ At-Tirmidhi, 3768)?

In a world where young girls grow up looking up to Instagram influencers and female singers, let our generation of young Muslim girls look up to the noble and pious women of Islam. Let us strive for excellence with Khadījah as our role model. May Allah bestow upon us many of Khadījah’s virtues, so that perhaps we too will be able to embody a certain amount of her goodness, amīn.

I loved this book. It's a wonderful collection of anecdotes full of concise, informative history regarding Khadijah (Ra) and her family. A star was deducted because I found there to be a few grammatical errors in the text. I recommend Darussalam hire an established editor in the future. Also, I think the honorific after Prophet Muhammad's (PBUH) name could have been provided in the Arabic version. This would have saved on word count and made it easier for the reader not to be interrupted by it every time it showed up in the book (which was often!). I trained my eyes to skip over it while reading, but I invoked the blessing in my heart. Highly recommend.

The stories were more around khadija (r) than actually of her. I was intrigued when I read the writer's note on how modern a book he wanted to find. But if I exclude the background stories and pictures then the stories "of" khadija(r) will not exceed 10 pages. Either the book is overrated or the name isn't right. The rest of the stories had redundancies and didn't or couldn't include khadija(r).

I found this very inspiring but too much like a text book with depth but a little lacking to really get meaty. Granted this IS a historical nonfiction book. Its still very very good.
I believe the author did their utmost to make it a complete work and there were many details which interesting to me.

I'm truly blessed to have come across this book.
I've always wanted to know more about Hadhrat Khadijah R.A and it was really, a great compilation of her life. It did leave a desire to learn more about her, in sha Allah.
I loved the way the makers of this book added so many colours to each and every page. It really renewed my attention and concentration as I flipped the pages. The hard copy is very well-made. Darrussalam is doing an amazing job at spreading so much authentic knowledge about our Deen. MashAllah.
