Sometimes the road to Happily Ever After is kinda bumpy...

Sarah Collins is doing just fine, thank you. Sure, she's still tending bar five years after losing her scholarship and dropping out of her snooty college--trust fund sorority girls just weren't her kind. True, she has thrift-store furniture and a car on its last legs. Sure, she hasn't had sex in a year or a boyfriend in...who knows? True, she keeps having to clean up her mom's messy life. But it's fine. She's fine. She doesn't need anyone's help. So stop asking!

Hank Reynolds was born with a silver spoon in his mouth, but he took it out a long time ago. His old-money parents didn't approve of his career choice, or anything else Hank was doing. So who needs 'em? He's got a low-stress job in a bar and an apprenticeship with a furniture maker. A life he can walk away from as soon as anything becomes too much trouble. He's come so far from where he started that he doesn't even have the same name. Ties? Who needs 'em?

When an injury forces I'm-Just-Fine Sarah to accept Hank's help, it's all they both can do to keep their hands (and hearts) to themselves. Can they learn to lean on each other when they both have one (broken) foot out the door?

This sexy, funny romance, about the difficulty of starting off on the right foot when the foot--and you--are a little bit broken, is about 55,000 words and is intended for readers 18 and over due to strong language--seriously, the characters have potty mouths! You've been warned!--and sexual situations (descriptive).

A good read.

I really enjoyed Mia's story. It was an easy read and moved effortlessly along. Sarah and Hank were adorable and I loved how they were able to work through the rough patches despite Sarah's monetary hang ups. What's interesting is that Mia really captured the real essence of how African Americans feel and cling to their lack and oftentimes do use it as a crutch and excuse without even realizing they're doing it. A good read.

By far my favorite

I loved this story. It was perfectly realistic and made my heart feel full. I usually am so 3 star mind of girl but I couldn't help but want this love story to last forever and ever. The fact that I didn't get the married with children ending I wanted made me love it even more! Great read for sure!

Okay read

It was okay. A little hard to get through at times but I made myself sit and finish. At first I was very excited to read it but then the story and character development just fell off. I love this author so I'm assuming this just didn't flow for me but others may find it appealing. I say, give it a try!!

Cute

This was a cute story. A nice change from the typical BWWM romance novel. The characters were relatable and endearing. I'm so glad that the story didn't have the stereotypical pregnancy by mistake and marriage ending

Quirky and good

There were light moments and serious moments that blended to show the development of the characters. Motto: We don't have to let our pasts define us.

Funny!

I thought Sarah and Hank were so adorable. Courtney and Josh were hilarious (especially Courtney). I liked that everyone found their way.
