William Cullen Bryant
A biography of William Cullen Bryant, a major poet & a newspaper editor of great distinction--a man who lived at the center of American intellectual & political life throughout much of the 19th century. He is best remembered as the transcendental author of the lengthy metaphysical poem "Thanatopsis" & as a champion of the working class. Bryant served as editor of the NY Evening Post.
