Politics of Guilt & Pity

Rate this book
From the foreword by Steve Schlissel: "Rushdoony sounds the clarion call of liberty for all who remain oppressed by Christian leaders who wrongfully lord it over the souls of God's righteous ones... I pray that the entire book will not only instruct you in the method and content of a Biblical worldview, but actually bring you further into the glorious freedom of the children of God. Those who walk in wisdom's ways become immune to the politics of guilt and pity.

The first 2 chapters of this book are ground shaking. The whole book is great and Rushdoony really shows how man cannot escape from his need of atonement. If not Christ, then man will find another means of atonement.

Good. Covered a lot of topics. Seems to be a summary of his position on everything at the same time a diatribe against liberalism

A true theology of politics and life. I’ve not read a more compelling exegesis of unbelief’s impact on the politics of mankind. No area of life & law are left untouched in this volume. It is a MUST read.

This book is incredible. Rushdoony clearly describes the religion of statism and how it takes form. What’s so amazing is that he wrote this in 1970. He could have written it today and it have the same impact. Every Christian needs to buckle up and read this one!

Audio on Canon+. This is a really good book. Definitely some aspects that will, and have, upset a fair number of Christians of both orthodox and liberal nature. Discern the times. It’s Christ or chaos.

An excellent discourse on the follies of a politics that seeks to give the civil government, or any institution of man, salvific power... the result of which, for individuals, is slavery.

Those who refuse to serve God will serve State

This book is simply brilliant. Page after page of wonderful insights and analysis. I feel that I need to spend the next year or two plumbing it's depths. It's that good. We are at the culmination of a long looming crisis. Our choice is simple and limited: repent before the righteous, loving, long-suffering God, or become slaves of wicked, cruel, vindictive men.
