Truth in Time is quite the journey. A well-crafted mystery of sorts that also includes a love of a lifetime with the threat of one man taking it all away.

I was immediately caught in the author's web of words and honestly couldn't put this one down! We get multiple POV's which work together beautifully and a story-line that has plenty of twists and turns and will keep the reader riveted.

As a turn of events from 4 years prior threatens to rear it's ugly head, we watch as Jak Watson decides to leave his young family behind when a mysterious note with pictures attached is delivered to his doorstep. What follows is a web of lies that touches not only Jak and his wife Noelle, but a former lover, a best friend and in-laws who all have their hand in this tale of deception.

There are plenty of memories brought to the forefront as Noelle tries to figure out how her life is so suddenly turned upside-down. Everyone has their secrets and the web of lies is so wildly tangled up, it's amazing at times that I could keep it all straight.

But the author masterfully deciphers all the details and you follow along and finally get that 'a-ha' moment right along with our heroine. She has been kept in the dark for so long, it's a wonder she can make it through each day. I liked Noelle's style though and her love of her adorable daughter Aubrey gave me a smile just when we all needed one!

And just when you think it's all said and done, as another secret is revealed and dealt with by one of the secondary characters, we get his continued story in the bonus book, The Thirteenth Hour. I really loved getting Hawke's story and am hopeful there might be more from this crew in the future.

My first from this author and I can promise it will not be my last. Really well done.

4.5 stars!!!

"Clocks may measure time, but they can't measure love."

Tick Tock
I loved the characters. I felt invested in all of their outcomes, even the ones that were frustrating me and making me want to slap them.
Tick Tock
I loved the suspense. The build up was fantastic. I was flipping the pages waiting to see when time would run out and expose everyone's secrets.
Tick Tock
I love epilogues that go years down the road and give me a true glimpse well into the future.
Tick Tock
I love the symbolism of time because time was no object when I was reading this story, I didn't want it to end. I wish I could tell you more, but I will spoil it and this story needs to be enjoyed, devoured minute by delicious minute.

✯✯4 Devious Stars!!!✯✯

This is not my first book by Sara Shirley. I read her Barriers series and loved them. If you're expecting this to be like that series, think again. This book is not your everyday love story. You will have questions, get mad, cry and be like WTF!

Noelle is the quiet shy type. Noelle meets Chris the hot sexy owner of the local tattoo shop. Things between the two of them are perfect. Chris wanted to spend the rest of his life with Noelle. That was until Noelle met her brother's roommate Jax. There's an instant connection an instant love.Noelle breaks up with Chris for Jax. Then, Noelle's brother dies in a tragic accident and Noelle can not get past it. Jax and Noelle move to Jax'x childhood town.

Jax and Noelle are living very happily in their beautiful home, good jobs and even more beautiful daughter. Until Jax gets a letter that spooks him and he leaves everything behind. Noelle finds a note from her husband and that's it. Few weeks later she's told her husband has died. Noelle's gut is telling her something else. When her best friend Whitney comes to visit. She talks Noelle into going home to get away and visit her parents, she agrees.

Noelle hasn't been home since she left right after her brother's death. Whitney use to date Noelle's brother so she knows how Noelle feels about everything. Whitney is dating/sleeping with Hawke. Hawke just happens to be Chris's cousin. When Chris finds out his Noelle is back he plans on never letting her get away again.

Noelle has so many emotions she's dealing with. Add Chris popping back up into her life not making things easier. She knows she still has some sort of feelings for him. But, not like she does for Jax. Noelle realizes she has never accepted or healed from her brother's death. Noelle tries to heal. Tries to move forward and figure things out. Then, she gets a phone call and Noelle's life is thrown upside down. The people closest to her have been telling her lies for the longest time. Jax, Whitney and Chris. But, who can she trust. What is best for her and her daughter. Man! Open this now.

Once I started this I couldn't put it down. My heart broke multiple times for Noelle. I couldn't blame her for not dealing and moving on from her brothers death. I don't think I could. I do hat her for having the 2 guys she had fighting over her lol. Jax and Chris. Man, lucky girl. But, I don't know if I'd be able to forgive Jax for the stunt he pulled. Noelle is definitely one of the stronger women I've read this year. I couldn't handle everything she did. Sara killed it!

***Warning: review may contain spoilers.***

The blurb caught my attention. So, I got the sample. I started it. I liked it. I bought the book.

I regret it.

First, the big secret the husband hid from the wife? I honestly thought it would be good. I mean the built-up to it, the husband simply up and leaving the wife, with a riddle as a note? Surely it's something huge!

Nope.

Second, there's a sort of love triangle in it. They are the bane of my existence. I've had mostly bad experiences. Okay, so I don't like them. At first, I put it down. Then I picked it up, because I'm curious, by nature and I wanted to know what the big secret was.

After finding out the "big secret", I just skipped. I was disappointed. The wife took the husband back, after the things he did - and I'm not talking about the secret he had - and it all just got wrapped up so neatly, with a big fat bow. I skipped. I ended up simply DNF-ing. I couldn't be bothered. I'm sorry I have wasted my time and money on this book.

Disappointing. 2 stars.

2 very good reads

Truth in Time....The story of Noelle & Jak. Why would a husband leave his wife when he loves her? The question reverberated in my head through the whole story as it just didn't make sense. The author kept my attention though as in a mystery I kept reading to find out why. There were a few slow parts & yet there were also instances where I wanted more information. I was happy with the ending but now I would love to hear more about the character of Chris who was Noelle's former boyfriend. The author gave me enough info about him that I want more.
The Thirteenth Hour....short story about Hawke whom we got a glimpse of in Truth in Time and Max his roommate. The truth be told...I liked this story even more than Truth in Time. Two people with messed up pasts that help each other to become whole. My only thought was the story was too short as I felt there was much more to Hawke's past that was not revealed.
I would definitely read more by this author. (Checking Amazon now.)

Sara Shirley has done it again! Truth in Time contains it all. If you're looking for a well-written book with great character development and lots of twists and turns along the way, this book is for you.

Follow Jak's journey to try to hide the truth from his wife Noelle. Is she willing to forget everything, or will she fall back into the arms of her ex-boyfriend? Truth in Time shows that Sara can write a different genre, but still keep true to her writing style.
