Wolf Claimed

Michaela Mune’Dust hates werewolves. Harthen knows she’d give her left boot to be completely free of the mangy beasts from now on. It’s just her luck that her job, the full moon, and that stupid little thing humans like to call biology are absolutely determined to force her into close personal contact with the last male she’d ever choose. But did he have to be one of them? She’d take anything, a sprite, an elf, even a fishy merman over that fury slobbery man-beast. Talk about un-luck-ee. Even worse the pinheaded lycan just can’t seem to keep his muddy paws to himself! Okay, so maybe he’s sort of cute when he gets all growly and gruff, but really is a little heart fluff worth a self-respecting witch’s freedom? Her very sense of independence? Those bull headed quadrupeds might think being WOLF CLAIMED puts Mick just were they want her, but they’ve got another thing coming. She’s a S.A.M.O Agent for the Human National Security Agency, and she has no intention of giving that up. Mick has her hands full juggling pack politics, managing a violent uprising, and trying not to die, but why does the idea of a lifelong mating terrify her more than anything else? And when did compelling green eyes staring out of a furry muzzle become the most appealing sight she’d ever seen? With the trouble bubbling in the MagKaen civil war is becoming more and more certain. According to that bubble headed vampire, the good races have decided to reveal themselves to the humans, while the baddies have moved into a full out Oh-heck-no. There has to be some way that Mick can keep the peace, without giving up the very essence of her soul in the process. And well, if she ends up falling in love while she’s at it that might not be such a cataclysmic event either.

Mercy is passionate about a lot of things, but writing is definitely the top of the list. Having traveled near and far she's fascinated with the details of life and bubbling with stories both sensual and magical. She was bitten by the writing bug at a very young age and continues to pursue her goal of writing full time. She enjoys living her own adventures but often finds herself getting lost in the adventures of her characters. Dedicated to perfecting her craft, and enjoying all that life has to offer, she looks forward to the next story with the practiced avarice of a seasoned connoisseur. Living in northern California doesn’t give her too many opportunities to hobnob with the undead, but that doesn’t stop her from imagining what it would be like. She hopes to continue her travels, both physical and mental, and dreams of being swept away into the romance of life.

DNF about 40% in. The synopsis has almost no similarity to the actual book. It makes it seem like a light-hearted urban fantasy, which it isn't, at all. It's an extremely angsty serious book.
The real letdown, besides being a totally different book than I thought it would be, was the writing. It is very disjointed and confusing. After the first scene, it skips ahead 6 months, a 6 months where quite a lot of important stuff happened, and those important events are barely explained in little dribbles of info that never fully explain what we missed that's vital to the continuing story. Then there's the love interest, who never actually talks to the MC; no seriously, I think ever single time she tries to talk to him, he just refuses to answer or he initiates sex or the scene cuts to something else instead....which means that the reader is just as in the dark as the MC is. He never explains to her anything about being a wolf, their society and rules, and what happens if she breaks those rules. I finally stopped trying to push through though when the love interest binds her magic without her knowledge or consent (supposedly binding it so she can't break all those rules--the ones he's never once bothered explaining to her); and it somehow ends up that she's the one apologizing to him and he's the one who has to forgive her. Even though what he did was controlling, horribly violating and meant she couldn't do her job as an agent.

I don’t usually care for serials … I want to have the whole story at one time. This author has decided to try something different. You get the 1st installment in the series, and you can automatically update each new episode at no additional cost by (re)downloading.
The story itself is good – a good shifter premise with lots of dirty talking thrown in! I especially love sassy females!! A tad choppy in spots, but an overall very good read.
This is definitely worth the read and I recommend it for a good time!

This was an alright read, I just found myself reading it not really getting into it. The book had some good points like Mat and his need to possess his woman, "sorry. I just want to eff you so bad I lost control for a moment. Forgive me?" It seems like all the boy can think about is sex, "you mean other than effing you until you scream yourself hoarse and then carrying you back to my house to start all over again?" As I said it was an alright read.

I'm not a big fan of serial's, but hopefully I'll be able to find this later on if Mercedes decides to make this into a boxed set.

I liked the story so far, it was just....different. I definitely hated how it left me hanging with so many things left unknown and if I'd have known it was a serial before I started it, I probably wouldn't have read it.

Great start for a new series

This book was a roller coaster, it was up and down and all over. You got a little background of the main characters and hint as to where this series is going. I look forward to the next book.

Amazing

Loved the story. Definitely not for children. Wonderful paranormal romance with plenty of eroticism. Thank you for a well written story. There are a few grammatical and spelling errors but not truly enough to Mar the story.

I struggled to keep up with this book. It had great moments and chemistry, and then there were huge jumps and gaps that I felt were never filled in. I want resolution but don't have the patience to read the second book.

This is an extra book this author sent me in addition to Farbo , thank you author. This book is a paranormal romance novel in a series, this is part 1. The series is about werewolves, a subject I do not know a lot about. It is a good read and fast.

Just couldn't do it. It felt like half the story was left out. I went to 50% this time ( my second attempt at reading) and I just didn't get it.

This book was good for some parts of it. I like the love story and bits and pieces of it but most of the time I felt like it was all over the place and hard to follow. Also was confusing being the second half of series and chapter jumps. I don't know if I would be interested in reading the first of the series after this one. Not sure it would help. Have to be honest I had a hard time finishing this one but did. I won this book in a goodreads giveaway thank you.
