First i thought that the book is boring. It was quite difficult to understand the connections between the characters... and there was no action at all (anyway am used to some development in the book).
But this book is not about it. Here through the stories of the characters we find out the truth about the past. Gradually, reading about the feelings of each character we understand that we, human-beings, are really very egoistic and too selfish and think only about ourselves.
This book is, on the one side, like many others, because it makes us start to think about the world around and about the role of humanity in the destruction of the nature, and on the other side, it feels so unique. May be because i am not used to reading in japanese, or may be because it is the first fantasy-book in which action takes place in ancient Japan. I don@t know. But the book has really impressed me a lot.
