I enjoyed Kaitlyn and Clay. Even though they each had plans for their life that didn't include getting involved with someone, the attraction was there. As they work together to solve a mystery they learn more about each other and grow closer. Kaitlyn learns she can go for her dream, Clay learns there is more than one way to make his come true, and they both learn there is room for each other as they do that. This is a novella so there is not as much detail in the ending as I would like, but the story is enjoyable and the ending satisfying.

“Make Room for Love” by Cindy Kirk drew me in from the beginning. This book is part of the Seriously Sweet St. Louis series. Due to an accident where Kaitlyn Killeen’s father, Frank, ran a stop sign and hit the Harley that Clay was driving, Kaitlyn finds herself taking care of Clay’s wounds at their home. Clay refused to go to the hospital. He is new to the town of Shelby, Iowa and on a mission that his father Drew sent him on.

There is intrigue and a love story as Clay McCashlin, son of the owner of McCashlin Enterprises, investigates the possibility of someone stealing and selling memory chips from the factory. He uses the alias of Clay Reynolds but Kaitlyn who does a background check on him confronts him with his deception. Clay asks Kaitlyn to help keep his identity secret and she offers to help him investigate. Clay is living in a room above the Killeen garage as Kaitlyn’s father feels it is the least he can do after being responsible for the accident.

Kaitlyn has put her career on hold. She has been working at McCashlin Enterprises in Human Resources. She is planning on leaving Shelby soon to move to Chicago and become a Fashion Designer. As Clay and Kaitlyn spend more time together, the attraction is undeniable. They both have plans for the future which will have them moving on. Getting involved in a romantic relationship does not fit in their plans. Clay has done some self-assessment while in Shelby. Moving forward, he wants to be a better person than the self-centered person he realizes he has been.
This is a sweet HEA romance with some mystery. It will hit the spot if you want a pleasant escape. I enjoyed this story and look forward to future books in this series.

To catch a thief

I received an Advanced Reader Copy of this book from the publisher and am voluntarily reviewing it.

This review is long and also contains spoilers.

The start of the book is such a tease! I had to double check what I was reading. I enjoyed the beginning as all characters are introduced.

The story starts well as we understand the dynamics of Kaitlyn's and Clay's families. It is exciting to find out how things will work out between them.

But John, Lori, Kaitlyn, and Clay's behaviour with each other is odd. Kaitlyn likes Clay, so why she gave permission to Lori to date Clay is beyond me, despite the reasons that Kaitlyn has.

On the dancing night, Kaitlyn wanted to be with Clay. So why doesn't she call him and denies to go with John even when turns up at her door? Each one is so ambivalent and just playing with the other.

After giving her permission to Lori to see Clay, she lashes out at Lori and Clay, making the situation extremely awkward. On the other hand, Lori considered Kaitlyn her best friend. Ideally, when you've a big news to share, you call or meet your friend, not the man your friend dated or is close to. It is strange to see the dynamics of the four of them. It's slightly unnerving and left me with a bad taste.

After the thief is identified, Joe has an accident. That's when Clay's identity is revealed too. Don't know if there was a better way to reveal it.

However, all ends well. It is heartwarming to see Kaitlyn and Clay sharing their feelings openly with each after being apart for months. The epilogue is a fine end underlining the fact that love conquers all, and you just have to make room for love in your life.

This is a book about a young woman determined to fulfill her dream in the big city, Clay is young man trying to solve who’s been stealing from his father’s multibillion dollar company. Kaitlyn is a fashion designer who is still working in an office job at that company. The plans are to move to Chicago and work for a fashion design company to get experience to start her own brand and she is leaving very soon. Clay doesn’t want to work forever for his father, but wants to catch whoever’s stealing. Caitlin’s dad causes Clay to spill is Harley on his way into town, so he brings him home for Kaitlyn to tend his wounds. Her dad sets him up in their vacant garage apt to help him out because Clay told them he was low on money and in town to try to get a job and McCashlen Enterprises. He is undercover to find the thief. Kaitlyn finds out his references are phony, so he tells her he is WORKING for the owner, so she calls the next day, after Clay fills him in, and since she knows his mission, his dad convinces Kaitlyn to help Clay, much to Clay’s disapproval.

OK, that said, they work to find the culprit while dancing around their feelings. It is a clean book and really well done. I wholeheartedly recommend it!

I received an Advanced Reader Copy from the publisher and am voluntarily reviewing it. Clay McCashlin is the son of Andrew McCashlin, the owner McCashlin Enterprises. Clay was sent to Shelby, Iowa to investigate a possible thief. Clay took the name of Clay Reynolds to go undercover and work in the warehouse of the McCashlins there.

Clay was given a room above the garage of the Killeen’s house. Frank Killeen accidentally hit Clay while on his motorcycle and offered him a place to live until he could get his bike fixed. All of the Killeens worked at McCashlins including his oldest daughter. Kaitlyn worked in HR.

Kaitlyn has big dreams of starting her own clothing line in Chicago. After figuring out that Clay was undercover, she has vowed to help him find the thief. Everyone is a suspect and Kaitlyn is Clay’s only way in to this small town. The two get close and sparks start to fly. This couple is adorable. The love that they discover is tangible. Readers will connect with and want them to be together and solve this mystery.

Cindy is great a making her characters realistic. These people are your friends and you want what is best for them. This book is well worth your time to read. I can’t wait for the next one in the series and I know everyone who reads this book will be anxiously waiting as well.

Undercover Boss meets his match? Clay McCashlin has been sent to the McCashlin Electronics Plant in Shelby, IA to solve a mystery. Kaitlyn Killeen is pulled into the fray to help him solve it. Along the way, they both find love! One problem…Kaitlyn doesn’t know that Clay is a McCashlin. She thinks he’s a drifter looking for a job at the plant where she and her father and brothers work. She soon finds out this “drifter” is more than meets the eye as he shows he’s smarter and more cultured than he lets on. Kaitlyn also has dreams of her own; of moving away from Shelby, working for a fashion designer in Chicago and eventually starting her own design label. As they work on the mystery together, she gets to know Clay and falls in love with him and he with her. Will that love be enough to keep them together or will the knowledge that Clay is not, in fact, Clay Reynolds but Clay McCashlin feel like too much of a betrayal? Will the pull of fulling her dream be too strong to keep her in Shelby? Trust, love, and forgiveness go hand in hand. If any one is missing, a relationship suffers and it takes dedication and commitment to repair the damage. You’ll see a little bit of each in Make Room For Love!

Are you ready for a mystery? Are you ready for some new exiting characters and possibly leaving St. Louis?? Well this book has all that and more!! So put on your helmet and grab on tight for this exciting ride!
This book starts right in the middle of the action and I will say it was fun I didn't know what was happening Kaitlyn is talking about taking a man upstairs in her home and never having done this before. But quickly you learn that Kaitlyn's father has hit a more young man on his motorcycle. When the man refuses to go to the hospital Kaitlyn's father brings him home and asks Kaitlyn to help fix the guy up. Kaitlyn finds the man incredible attractive, but assumes after she fixes him up she will never see him again. Kaitlyn has plans and no one is going to get in the middle of that. She doesn't have time for love or attachments. She is leaving her small town life for the big city and hopes of starting her own fashion line.
Clay can't believe it when he is hit on his motorcycle while trying to keep a low profile in Shelby. He is there under a fake name and can't go to a hospital. Clay's plans are to get into the McCashlins plant and get out. He has a job and he needs to do a good job. What Clay doesn't expect or plan for is Kaitlyn.
Kaitlyn soon learns Clay isn't in Shelby just for a job, he is here on a top secret mission. Kaitlyn decides the best way to handle Clay is to help him. He isn't from the small town and can't get any information. Clay doesn't want help, but soon realizes that Kaitlyn is right and they team up for one while and exciting ride.
Will Clay find the thief without getting his heart stolen? Can Kaitlyn fall in love and still keep her career and dreams on track? Buckle in for this ride and find out.
This store doesn't seem to have much of a tie into the other Seriously Sweet St Louis books, but if you keep a look out you can find them. Once again there are some great character development and a really good story. The whole town of Shelby is a great part of the book. This book will leave you wondering about more than just Clay and Kaitlyn.

Kaitlyn has had a goal of leaving her small town of Shelby to become a fashion designer for a long time. On her last month in town she meets Clay and out of town man who is looking not only for a place to stay but a place to work. The main employment in the small community is McCashlin Plant which employs her whole family including herself. After talking to Kaitlyn and her family Clay decides to apply for a job there. Unbeknownst to Kaitlyn and her family Clay is really the heir to McCashlin and has come to do some undercover work to see who has been stealing from his families company.
As with any small town story we meet a cast of characters as Kaitlyn works to help Clay find who is stealing.
I love that Clay was the one who truly starting to care for Kaitlyn while she was still determined to leave town even after Clay told her he loved her. A quick easy read of how when we make plans and agenda how easily it can change when love gets in the way. Giving an advance readers copy from the author for an honest review.

Kaitlyn is determined to make it out of small town Shelby and open her own clothing company. In fact, in two months she is moving to Chicago. But when she meets Clay McCashlin any romantic plans that she had gets waylaid. Kaitlyn helps Clay discover who has been stealing chips from the plant that she works for and is owned by Clay's father. However, Kaitlyn does not know that Clay's father is the owner of the factory. After discovering that Clay is not who he says he is, Kaitlyn leaves for Chicago. Clay actually gets transferred there at one of McCashlin's other business entities. When they meet again, they realize that they are in love and have a happily ever after.

Even though this is part of the Seriously Sweet St. Louis series, the only mention of St. Louis is the location of the home office of McCashlin enterprises. Characters are relatable and you feel that you have a rooting interest in Kaitlyn and Clay.

I received an ARC for honest feedback and am reviewing this voluntarily.

Clay McCashlin is going undercover at his Father's company to find out who is stealing. They did an audit, it found nothing, because they are diverting shipments. Clay gets hired to work in the warehouse. Kaitlyn works in HR, she finds out Clay is lying about who he is, she talks to his Dad, who still covers for Clay so she doesn't know yet he is a McCashlin. They spend time together, he meets people he thinks couldn't possibly be stealing. Kaitlyn is trying to help. They eventually find out who it is, Drew doesn't press charges but helps the guilty person turn their life around. Kaitlyn's brother is hurt after riding Clay's motorcycle, he's ok just scrapes and bruises. She finds out his last name, is upset. 4 months later they meet up again in a pawn shop, where he buys a ring she pawned. They talk, say 3 words, ask and answer important questions. The epilogue is her friend and former cowoker Lori meeting a very special man.
Up next is Lori and Clay's Dad Drew, and their happy ever after.

Make Room For Love tells the story of Kaitlyn & Clay; two people from two different worlds. Clay McCashlin is the son of Andrew McCashlin who has sent his son to Shelby, Iowa undercover to discover who stealing from the multibillion dollar company. Kaitlyn who dreams of becoming a fashion designer, works in the office to bring in some money whilst putting her dreams in motion.

Kaitlyn & Clay cross paths when Kaitlyn's father Frank accidentally runs through a stop sign & hits Clay's Harley. Frank has brought Clay back to the house to have Kaitlyn patch him up & have him stay in the room over the garage whilst he recuperates as Clay claims he is low on money & nowhere else to stay.

On the mend, Clay applies for a job at McCashlin Enterprises so that he can catch the thief. Upon receiving the job, Kailtyn checks out Clay's references to find out that they're fake & calls him out on it. Clay fills her in on what's going on & wants to help much to Clay's disapproval.

This book had me from the first page and I finished it within a day. It's part of the Seriously Sweet St Louis books and is a definite must read. You won't be disappointed!

We meet Kaitlyn as she is tending to Clay who has just been in a collision on his motorbike with Kaitlyn's father. We find out that she plans on leaving her small town of Shelby to become a fashion designer as soon as she can, but Clay happens! He is looking not only for a place to stay but a place to work. Kaitlyn's father decides that Clay can stay in the apartment over their garage and he finds a job at the McCashlin Plant which employs her whole family including herself. Unbeknownst to everyone Clay is really Clay McCashlin, the heir to the McCashlin company who has come to do some undercover work as his father believes someone at the company is stealing. Kaitlyn comes to trust Clay and the two of them fall in love....but will they catch the thief?!

Make Room for Love is the sixth in the Seriously Sweet St Louis series but can also be read as a stand alone story. This is a story of following your dreams and allowing love to fill your heart. Kaitlyn is working toward her dream of leaving Shelby and going to Chicago to be a famous clothes designer, that is until Clay crashes into her life. Clay is always trying to gain his father's approval so he agrees to go undercover and get a job in the family factory to find out who is stealing inventory. After discovering Clay's identity is false, she is recruited to assist Clay in locating the thief. The two grow close while working together but when all secrets are revealed, they must decide if their relationship is strong enough to survive. This is a wonderfully written story with amazing characters.

I received an Advanced Reader Copy of this book from the publisher and am voluntarily reviewing it. Make Room for Love is the story of two individuals certain on their future, only to have their plans thwarted by love. Kaitlyn is stuck in the small town of Shelby, Iowa, sure she does not want to stay in the town and forever work for the same company that employees just about every other citizen. When the CEO’s son comes to town, undercover, Kaitlyn is more than willing to help the man catch a thief and in the meantime, have her heart be stolen. As the two develop their relationship, secrets come out, and trusts are broken. Thankfully, Ms. Kirk has written common sense into her characters’ personalities and resolutions are soon to be had. The romance portrayed is clean and sweet, but still keeps the reader entranced. This novella is a nice addition to the St. Louis series, even if most of the story takes place in Iowa.

Make Room for Love was a sweet, quick read. The relationship aspect was somewhat predictable. Girl meets boy under false pretenses. Boy and girl are attracted and grow closer. One has a different life plan that will take them away from the other. Girl finds out secret and reacts. Boy and girl find their HEA. I would say it was a 3.5 star read.

The thing that made this book different was the mystery of who was stealing from the factory. There were plenty of suspects from which to choose. Finding out about the culprit and the explanation that went along with it was a bit of a let down.

A quick read that did keep me entertained for the majority of the book. Clay and Kaitlyn get their HEA. The epilogue was an added plus.

I voluntarily read and reviewed the Advanced Reader Copy of this book, received via the publisher.

This is a sweet love story about two young people looking for their dreams. Kaitlyn dreams of leaving her small town in Iowa to become a fashion designer. Clay has arrived to investigate theft for his father's company and reveals that he wants to start his own business. When these two people meet, they will find that dreams do come true in unexpected ways.
Cindy Kirk has done it again! She wrote a sweet love story that put a smile on my face, and lightened my step. The characters and setting remind me of long lazy summer days living in the country and going to carnivals and dances at night. The plot was perfect for the amount of pages in this book. The theme of this story is about our dreams, one should never give up on them! I received an advanced reader's copy from the publisher in exchange for my honest review.

I thoroughly enjoyed this novella. This is the story of Kaitlyn and Clay. Kaitlyn has her life all mapped out and plans to leave the small town of Shelby in a couple of months to pursue her dreams of becoming a fashion designer. Then Clay arrives in town, apparently out of work and looking for a job at the local factory but, all is not as it seems as Clay is actually the owners son arriving to go undercover to looking into stock going missing from the factory. Despite the mutual attraction Kaitlyn is determined not to get involved with Clay as she will not put her dreams on hold. Loved the dynamics between Kaitlyn and her best friend Lori – whose story is in the next upcoming book. Things go a bit pear shaped when Kaitlyn learns Clay’s true identity and she leaves for her new life but, with all Cindy Kirk’s books there is always a HEA.

I enjoyed this book, but I was kind of disappointed that it didn't really tie the other books in the series into as the previous books did. I think there was a loose reference, but the characters didn't really cross over like in the other series. I liked that it dealt with the age-old problem of wanting to be liked for who we are inside rather than the circumstances we find ourselves in. I really enjoyed the opening scene and thought it was a fun way to introduce the characters. I also enjoyed how the characters found love when they least expected it and maybe didn't even want it. If you like a quick read that's mostly light-hearted but still has enough ups and downs to keep you reading I think you will enjoy this book.

I loved the reminder that “Things don’t just happen. You have to make them happen”. I do this by praying and stepping out in faith like Kaitlyn planned.

Clay and Kaitlyn learned to care for one another as they worked to find a thief at the company. Kaitlyn also learned that a marriage can be a partnership not a competition of one career over another. I loved how it ended.

Even though I thought John was involved in some way it was the loyal employee of many years. How Andrew and Clay McCashlin questioned and worked with Paul they showed compassion. It was a reinforcement of why employees liked to work for them. They cared. I wish all employers had as much compassion.

Two people, each with an agenda about love and a life plan that doesn’t include a partner, are thrown together by an accident and a mystery. But circumstances have them not only crossing paths but entangled in each other’s paths moving forward. Add instant chemistry, and in each of their hearts they must battle between what they want for their future and what they yearn for now. Kirk builds the suspense of the relationship intertwined with sleuthing that ends with we know who done it, now back to our regular lives…apart. But an unexpected, fun, and satisfying resolution awaits.

A quick read that I didn’t want to put down.

Kaitlyn Killeen’s life was right on track until Clay McCashlin breezed into town. She had plans for her life, big plans, and until now had avoided any and all romantic entanglements.

Clay, a wealthy businessman and confirmed bachelor, arrived in Shelby, Iowa, posing as an out-of-work laborer to investigate issues at a company plant.

The clock was ticking. Clay had a mystery to solve and Kaitlyn had big-city dreams to pursue. But sparks flew at first glance and it quickly became apparent that their carefully laid plans were about to be derailed…by love

This is a great story, I loved reading Kaitlyn and Clays journey. Love hits at the most unexpected times and can change everything in the blink of an eye. Untold secrets can break that love, but can Clay keep Kaitlyn?

I really enjoyed Make room for Love. It's a story about Kaitlyn Killeen and Clay McCashlin, who they both have hopes and dreams that they are focused to come true.
Kaitlyn wants to get out of Shelby and become a fashion designer, and she isn't going to let anyone get in her way. Along comes Clay she is attracted to him but can she change her plans for him?
Clay takes one look at Kaitlyn and knows he wants her, but he's not in Shelby for love, he's come to find out who has been stealing from his father's company. Will love get in the way?
Although I really enjoyed the story, I felt the development of the scenes were rushed. Still a good read!
Read to find out!
Enjoy!

Love does not always have to be planned!

Love does not always have to be planned! This is about Clay and Kaitlyn. Kaitlyn is finishing school and ready to go start her life in Chicago and get out of small-town Shelby. Her best friend is Lori whom she works within the McCashlin factory where everyone works at. Clay is there to work undercover as someone is stealing from the company. This is about second chances not just for them but everyone in the story. It is a wholesome story with hurt and young women learning to mature much younger than they should. I love Cindy’s story as it helps put things into perspective when one is struggling – okay it would be nice everyone ended up with a hot wealthy man, but that is what dreams are made about!

Clay McCashlin’s father has asked him to go undercover at one of his factories to figure out who is stealing from the company. Kaitlyn Killeen has been taking care of her family and working at the McCaslin electronics factory biding her time until she finishes her degree. She has big plans to move to Chicago to become a fashion designer, and no plans for any romantic entanglements. Of course, those plans are endangered once she starts helping Clay with his investigation. This is a nice, clean romance with two likable main characters. Oh my goodness! The sweetness in this story doesn't disappoint. This seems on the shorter side, but that was not a problem for me! This was such a quick, fulfilling story that fit perfectly into the amount of pages we had.

I love seeing a female character who doesn't compromise what she wants in her career, but learns that there's more room in life than just 1 goal.

I also loved the mystery! It was such a quick and easy read, that I was on the mystery train all the way and it was delightful!

Book #6 of the Seriously Sweet St Louis series is a stand alone read - no need to read the previous books to follow along with these new characters. Make Room for Love is a sweet, Christian-based, quick read. The overall storyline is predictable: Girl meets boy under false pretenses, Boy and girl are attracted, Truth is found out and betrayal is felt. The thing that made this story different was the underlying storyline of who was stealing from the factory. Overall this is a quick read that kept me intrigued!

This was another great story in this series! When Clay went to Shelby he was only planning to figure out who was stealing from his dad’s company. He met Kaitlyn as soon as he got to town and although she seemed to be less than friendly they quickly became friends. Kaitlyn’s plans to leave town to build her career and she is determined to let nothing get in the way. I loved reading their sweet love story and when something is meant to be it will eventually be. I highly recommend this sweet romance and the other books in this series. I received an Advanced Reader Copy of this book from the publisher and I am voluntarily reviewing it.

I planned to read this book a little bit at a time over a few days but I just couldn't put it down and finished it way past my bedtime because I was too invested in the story to put it down.

While this is part of a St. Louis series, the only relation to the city is that the male protagonist comes from there. I like that it's in a small town setting.

While there were some small details that were predictable, overall the execution was great and I liked the characters.

I received a copy of this book as an ARC reader and am giving my review freely. Kaitlyn just can't wait to get out of her small hometown. Clay arrives posing as a drifter needing a job, but his job is to find out if stealing product is happening at this father's plant. Kaitlyn works at the plant...will she and Clay hook up to solve the mystery of stealing? Will Kaitlyn's plans of moving from her hometown get derailed by Clay? Another great read in this series and a great way to kick off your summer reading!

I had an Advanced Reader copy of this book and am reviewing it willingly. This book was a great addition to the Seriously Sweet collection. I loved the characters Clay and Kaitlyn. They both have goals, but first had a small mystery to solve. They worked together and in the meantime also figured out how they could achieve their goals together.

Cindy Kirk does a great job with her character development and consistency between books.

This was a great quick read on my flight home from Denver to Austin.
