This book, like the green animals on this planet book, is basically exactly what it says on the tin. A book full of orange animals. Unfortunately there are not that many orange animals that the author knew of so most of the animals in the book veer closer to red.
This book is interesting and has short descriptions of several animals with orange coloring, from butterflies to Red River Hogs. The photos are stunning. The information is only an introduction to each animal. One page with 2 or 3 sentences for each animal. The text is short but not for early elementary. The vocabulary is above K-1 ages... with words like recognizable and arthropod. I would recommend this for 3rd to 6th grade.
The only problem I have with this book is that the switch back and forth from metric to Imperial (US) measure. US kids are not really proficient with metric measure, and I know I am not, especially when the book switches back and forth randomly. I would prefer, if they are marketing the book for the US, that they change the measurements to imperial. I hate converting and, I think, kids will be confused.
Great book to learn about animals, fish, colors, and geography. The photography is amazing. Little ones will love to hear you read this to them. I can hear my grandson making animal noises right now!!
Animals are different from us, probably because there are so many species and they are so different from us. We think we’re the smart ones but I’m not sure that is true. We have to go to school, somehow they don’t need school, nature seems to be a closer friend of theirs.
Today We Did Learn about orange animals all around the globe in this interesting and factual book for children. How many did you already know?
Orange Animals on the Planet is part of the Colorful Animals on the Planet series by Baby Professor. Each book is a discovery of animals of one particular colour.
Each page features a new orange animal with a lovely photograph plus some facts about that animal. A couple of the photos are not as sharp as I expected, but they are still good photos of these wonderfully orange creatures. There are photos on the front cover of a red panda and a goldfish, neither of which are actually included in the book, which I found a little odd. I love red pandas too, so I was a tad disappointed. However, I did learn about some new orange animals, such as the Red River Hog. And I never knew that flamingos came in an orange variety too!
Each fact was a good length for children to absorb. When describing the size of these creatures, most of the facts included metric measurements, and then the Baboon Spider was described in inches. I prefer metric as I am Australian, but either way, it is just best to be consistent throughout.
This is quite a good book for younger children. It is most suited to lower and middle primary school children to read themselves. Younger children can also enjoy this one read to them. I enjoyed Orange Animals on the Planet, and will be looking out for some others in the series.
Orange Animals On The Planet: Animal Encyclopedia for Kids (Colorful Animals on the Planet Book 3 This children's colorful book starts out with the importance of color for camouflage to help protect them from other animals. This is the orange book and there are many different animals and birds that are shown. Very colorful vibrant colors and facts about the animal or bird. Julia Butterfly would be my favorite.
Orange Animals on the Planet has a nice selection of animals that are orange, the only common feature of each animal is the color of orange. The book also just ends without a summary pare, review page to leave the reader wondering if they missed part of the book. It is a good science resource book for children to learn about a variety of types of animals from various parts of the world. The photographs are excellent with good explanatory comments about each animal.
Very interesting orange animal info. My 8 year old grandsons said it was a good heads up learning book. They enjoy it. They said other kids will like it too. I recieved this book from the author. I voluntarily am giving a review.
I learned about a few animals I had never heard of before. My problem was the editing. There were incomplete sentences and typos with punctuation. Be warned that if a child is scared of snakes and spiders there are a couple featured. The photographs were excellent; vibrant and bold, and each animal had a small blurb about where it is found and a little more about what it does.

This book is excellent in getting children learn not only about the color orange , but the many animals and birds which are orange in color. Parents and teachers can use this book to encourage children to learn more about an animal, find other items which are orange. I definitely recommend this book
This book feature animals in various shades of orange. Other than the colors, nothing else is similar. The animals include fish and reptiles to mammals. It is an interesting way to classify animals and kids are sure to enjoy the colorful photos and descriptions.
This book offers animals that are orange. It has real life picture with facts on the side. It can be used as a picture book for younger children or as an animal science book for older child. If your child loves animals or animal facts this would be a good book. Or for yourself if you like.
This is a great book for 1st to 2nd grade children. It has great colorful pictures of the animals and describes each one. Very educational at the appropriate level. All children should enjoy a great deal
Ten month old niece enjoyed looking at pictures. Sure 5 year old will also enjoy learning some facts about some unusual animals. Spider crabs, wild boars, corn snake--very brief descriptions for young children. Pictures are real, not drawings.
14 different orange animals are described in this book. One photo per animal. Everything is in metric measurements. There is no table of contents or index. It would not be useful in the classroom.
A highly colorful book, suitable for children and adults alike. It would be great in schools as a learning tool, or in homes for entertainment or homeschooling purposes.
