When Darcy St. Claire received the medical diagnosis that would change her life forever, she decides she will not let it get her down. She has so much life left to live and she's determined to make the most of it.

Moving to Otter Creek to open up a deli that specializes in wraps was just what the doctor ordered. She has always loved cooking and experimenting with food in her spare time. She just hopes the folks of Otter Creek will give her a shot.

Rio Kincaid has been in Otter Creek for a few months. He sees all of his teammates meeting and falling in love with their soulmates and he can't help but be a little envious. What he wouldn't give to meet that special someone and be able to spend the rest of their lives together.

When fellow Fortress Security operative, Trent St. Claire, asks if Rio will keep an eye on his sister while he's away for a mission he readily accepts. He knows that a distracted operative can be dangerous and cost other's their lives. He'll do whatever he can to make sure Trent's sister is safe.

But when they discover the previous owner of the house was murdered and someone has been breaking in to the Victorian home, Rio knows none of it was a coincidence. He'll need not only the help of the Otter Creek Police Department but the help of Fortress Security and his team, Durango, to figure out who is behind everything and why. He has fallen for Darcy and there is no way he will lose her now. She has saved him more times than she will ever know. Now it's his turn to save her. He is determined to give them a HEA together... if she'll have him.

This should come as no surprise to you guys but... I loved this book! Darcy and Rio were amazing! I loved that Darcy was feisty and could hold her own. I also loved the Rio always wanted to protect her but knew that he couldn't treat her like a fragile piece of China. He knew her limitations and did his best to let her handle things... to an extent. He is, after all, an alpha male who would do anything to protect the woman he loves.

I loved seeing the other couples in previous books. That's one of the things I love about reading a series based in a small town. It's always fun to catch up on their lives. I also loved seeing the setup for Trent's book. I can't wait to read his story. I have a feeling he is going to fall hard! Hehe.

The more I read this series, the more I fall in love! The books just keep getting better and better! I can't wait to see what Ms. Deel has in store for us next! I can already tell you I'm going to be sad to see this series come to an end!

And let's just take a moment to admire these two... *dreamy sigh* I think they are perfect!

Sweet Romance with Wonderful Suspense

I really enjoyed this story. I have read the other six books in the series and was excited for Rio to finally have his story. His and Darcy's romance was sweet, and I loved how he always looked out for her well-being and took care of her. The worst part about the books in this series is that they end! In this book there were things discussed that the characters promised to a dress later and then didn't, which I wish we could have seen. Still another fantastic romantic suspense!!!

Worth reading again and again...

This is one of the best series I have read. Period. The plots are well thought out, characters slightly flawed (which lets you like them even more), and overall the books are very well written and thoroughly enjoyable to puzzle out. This series IS best enjoyed in order but can be read as stand-alone books, and go hand in hand with the Fortress series (also by Rebecca Deel). I would highly recommend these books to anyone who enjoys mystery, some everyday adventure, and sweet romance.

Wonderful series! Otter Creek has many heros!

Book 7 of this series was excellent. I hope there will be many more just like it!

As this story opens we are introduced to a character who played a small role in the last book. Also introduced was his sister . . . if you are a reader of this series, you will know what that means.

This book contains a really interesting mystery -- one that seemed to center around a Victorian house that is over 100 years old. The old house's most recent occupant had been a hoarder who had been murdered! A determined new resident of Otter Creek purchased the house, the hoarders belongings included, and hoped to bring back the beauty of the old place. Now, the mystery begins!

Another of this author's wonderful mysteries unfolds with all the intensity, suspense and intrigue that made the storylines of this series successful. I really enjoyed the characters in the story and the mystery was every bit as enjoyable as the others, with twists and turns that left me wanting more!

As always, what is absent and on purpose, too, is the profanity that often dominates a book, as well as graphic violence and blatantly sexual scenes. It's refreshing to read a mystery that is not clogged by what is unnecessary to enjoy a book!

Another fabulous return to Otter Creek! Alex is my favorite member of Durango, but Rio is a close second. I was so happy to watch Rio fall in love, and Darcy is a great match for him. Darcy is a concert pianist who is forced to retire due to illness. Her strength really stood out to me throughout the book. Rio, Durango's medic, always comes off as laid back, but it is clear that he is just as deadly as the rest of his teammates. And when he falls for Darcy, he falls hard!

As always, the mystery was gripping. I was so sucked into the plot surrounding her house, and it kept me guessing until the end. The romance was lovely as always, and it was great to watch someone take care of Rio for a change! The character development was fantastic as always, and I loved that we got to reconnect with several previous characters! I would have liked just a touch more at the end, but it really was a great story.

Another hit

Love, love Rebecca Deel books. There is romance, action, and humor in her stories. The men are hot, sexy, strong alpha male that are sweet and protective of their partners. The women are intelligent beautiful, independent, strong ladies that will make you want to be their friends. Rio and Darcy story have all the ingredients to make this another hit for Rebecca Deel. Their love and respect for each other, the humor that surrounds them, their friendships with the other characters, the danger and mystery that is part of the story will keep you glued to your book until you are finished with it. Hopefully we will have Mason and Trent stories soon

With a medic like Rio I would never complain if I ever needed his services. Be still my beating heart!!! His care not only for Darcy, but his whole team makes him an epic hero. Caring and compassionate on one hand, yet tough as nails on the other. Quite the heady combination. I'm a Nashvillian and it's fun to read about places that I recognize, and makes me wish the men of Fortress Security were real (insert longing sigh here). Even though they aren't, their exploits and protection of those they love keeps me coming back for more.

I enjoyed both the Great characters and plot.

Good books do not require the erotica currently found in the recent publications. I have read quite a few of Ms Deels books
and all were very good reads
