Polly Parrett meets Polly parrot. Together, can they solve a murder mystery?
Things just don’t always go the right way for pet-sitter, Polly Parrett. Dogs and cats can be tough enough; now she finds herself having to cope with a moody macaw, a volatile new resident at her mother’s halfway house for veterans, and oh yeah, a dead body.
What’s more, the parrot and Polly share the same name, which not only makes for a lot of confusion, but it just might be that the parrot is the smarter of the two.
Awesome! Can both Polly's work together to solve the latest mystery? The parrot is genius and the confusion caused by it is a pleasure to read. If you've read the previous books (and even if you haven't ) you are going to love this story. Highly recommended for all cozy mystery lovers.

This has to be one of the worst books I've ever read/listened to. The authors tone is extremely patronizing to the reader. The narrator frequently makes side comments to the reader as if we're all idiots. For example, twice in the book it was explained that VFW=Veterans of Foreign Wars. The author also found it necessary to explain who Larry, Curly, and Moe were.
This was the first and last book of the series that I will waste my time on. However, if I had considered going back to read the first two there would be no need now. The author completely summarizes the murder mystery climax that took place in one of the earlier books.
The main character is obnoxious and whiney and the reader didn't help much all. It felt as if I were being read to by my 3rd grade teacher (not in a good way).
I also don't know how this book is put in the Mystery genre. For the first half of the book Polly is going through her everyday life without anything really worthwhile or interesting happening. Then halfway through the dead body is discovered. But then there is a lot mor dull narration and Polly whining before "poof" mystery solved and The End.
So glad I found this series! Filled to the brim with lovable pets and pleasing characters (and Characters, if you know what I mean). I plan to read the whole series ASAP. Thank you Ms Dodwell!
I listened to the Audible audio version of this book.
"This series gets better with each installment"
For a nice cozy, somewhat short listen, Bird Brain is great. I think this series is getting better as it goes along. I love the Newfoundland/Rott mix named Chester as he reminds me of my mastiff puppy (and cats) who listened with me. I also enjoyed Polly Parrot. This was fun
Jennifer Fournier's narration makes this a lot of fun. I enjoy listening to her and the combo of her and Liz Dodwell make this a great listen.

Another fun cozy pet sitter mystery. Polly and friends work to solve a murder. I love these short listens and when you toss in a bit of romance, all the better.
The narration was well done. The characters were well portrayed.
Fell in love with her stories and writing style and just read three (3) of her books tonight. Great mysteries , lots of laughs , and of course fantastic crazy pets. I know you will enjoy these oddball books too. CAROL VANATTA justcva46@gmail.com
