I survived the wilds of that remote planet I crashed into, and I've been trying to get to know my new alien lover before I return home and introduce him to my father. Yeah, so not looking forward to that introduction but at least I'm not knocked up... yet.
Everything is going great until we intercept a transmission from my home planet. Apparently my jerk of a stepbrother has been telling everyone I'm dead, and they believe it. There's been a funeral for me and everything.
So now it's a race home to prove to everyone I'm still alive and breathing before they pass on my crown and title to the next girl in the line of succession.
And if that's not enough on my plate, another alien has decided to step forward and he's claiming I'm his, like we're fated or something. Ha! And I don't even like the guy, seriously can not even stand him.
And you'd think my current alien lover would be mad... But no, he insists on bringing the other alien guy along because he's convinced I need the extra protection.
One Ravager? I think I can handle it.
But two sexy red-eyed purple space demons? Two might prove to be too much for this princess...
The Dark Princes is the second installment in the Ravager Chronicles series.
Sara Page is the Paranormal/Science Fiction alter ego of Contemporary Romance author Izzy Sweet.
Sara Page is a Cincinnati, Ohio gal who loves her football, Cincinnati-style chili, and local ice cream. She writes what she wants to read, steamy science fiction, paranormal and fantasy stories. When she's not writing, Sara is doing her best to keep up with her two boys.
She lives with her two wild children, two fuzzy Shih Tzus and one supportive husband who reads everything she writes.
So, I don't want this to come off as a rant about the book but anyone who's seen some of my other reviews will know that I can get a bit emotional after investing time in a book or series.
I'll take into consideration that after having a story with one male and one female character, it would have been a difficult task for any writer to make the readers love a second male lead.
I did not like Striker. I even started not liking Drek which I think is bad. I loved him in the first book and the second book seems to have undone the magic of the first in this sense.
I felt as conflicted about this menage as the female lead did. Eventhough I usually love menage. And both males behaviours did not help. Suddenly there were secrets and Drek was making himself absent to give Striker time to make his claim? Suddenly Ameia did not seem like Drek's favourite girl again. She was just being passed from one to the other like an object and being chastised by her first love Drek, when she voiced her conflicting emotions.
There was one moment that made the rest of the book a bit unbearable for me. Ameia is in danger and Striker is there in the shadows. Instead of running to her rescue, he presses her to accept him as her mate before he does anything to save her.
And I wonder. Would he have let her die if she didn't accept him?
Questions like that ruin a story for me. I should be confident in the characters love. He was just arrogant. There was no wit or love. No honorable need to abstain because or the female's confusion. Just a lot of smirking and arrogance and Drek just left her to deal with it on her own. Like he didn't care about her anymore.
Most everytime in the beginning that Striker touches her, Ameia is thinking it is Drek. Instead of this feeling like a menage , it felt like cheating and I'm really sad about it because I so enjoyed the first book.
I enjoyed this sequel as much as the first book. Ameia and her Beast return to her home world. There's a bunch of interesting stuff in this one, cool alien medical equipment, royal intrigue, Striker, alien space/shadow travel and even a prophesy. We finally get answers to questions left unanswered by the end of the last book...like where did striker come from and why was Beast on that planet to begin with. I would totally read a third about the trio when they go to Beast's planet buuutttt I don't think it's out yet! In the meantime, I'll have to check out the author's other work.
First, Princess SOS needs to be read. That was a really good book. This second one...WOW, just WOW! Some females put out a Calling, not that they realize it. Ameia is Beast's Calling. She accepted him in the first book. She is also Striker's Calling. Ameia has been brought up in a monogamous environment so she has a hard time with this. Striker's arrogance and smugness annoys her to no end. She doesn't want to be anywhere near him. But she has no choice when they take her back home. She needs him to anchor her while going through the wormholes, which she doesn't like because they have to be in physical contact. She's distressed because touching feels good, feels right and can't and shouldn't because she's committed to Beast. She's dealing with the fact that she just watched her own funeral and now this. Ameia is so edge about getting home, showing her father she's still alive and having Ravagers with her, which she knows won't go over well. Upon returning she finds out her father was severely burned in a fire that they say he started. Her father mutters that she is to marry Vrillum, her step-brother that may have caused her escape pod to crash on an uninhabited planet. The palace is empty of staff and she's told at gunpoint that she can't leave. Beast leaves to go back to his ship to bring medical personnel and equipment to help her father. Striker stays behind to protect her and uses this opportunity to get her to accept the Calling with him. Of course, plots deepen, betrayals come to light. Ameia finds her strength and learns to be honest with herself. You learn alot about Beast and Ameia in the first book. Striker's character is defined but not as well as I would've liked. The plot and it's twists and turns are really good. Highly recommend. I hope there is a third installment. It doesn't feel like the story is complete yet. I originally received this as an ARC in exchange for an honest review. I also read through KU to give author credit.
Very good follow up. I was VERY concerned about how this would go, considering I was dead set on Drek the Prince being Ameia's one and only. Their connection in book 1 and the beginning of this book just blew me away.. But Striker's devotion to her, especially when things were uncertain, and the resistance from Ameia & of course the reluctant surrender from Drek, because it was their culture; made this all very believable for me. I got it.
And I loved how many things played out here with her step brother & others. How certain things were brought to a close and how others are just beginning.
Curious about what will be revealed and how those reveals come about in book 3.
I'm very surprised so far with this series. I'm loving it. I would recommend it. On the surface, some things in this series are quite similar with what you've gotten in this genre before. But what I love are the unique layers here with regards to the cultures & the events. And how everything unfolds. So in this regard, this series is a breath of fresh air & quite intriguing.
MAJOR SPOILERS THROUGHOUT: I liked this book. I didn't like it as much as the first installment though. The first book was more character focused (in my opinion) and while there was some character development in this book, I felt like it was a lot more plot focused. I am simply not a plot person. I can read a book with absolutely no plot and still enjoy it if I love the characters. That is just how I am so, naturally, this book didn't appeal to me as much as the first one.
Ameia- I'm not gonna lie, Ameia pissed me off more often than not in this book. I just don't get how she comes to the conclusions that she does or how she makes decisions. I would probably do the opposite of almost everything she does. I just feel like she doesn't think things through and gets herself into more trouble than she was originally in. This can be severely frustrating to me as the reader.
Beast- I felt like Beast took a little bit of a backseat in this book. I didn't get to see as much of him as I would have liked. I feel like this book was solely focused on developing Ameia and Striker's relationship, so Beast just got pushed aside. This is a shame because he's my favorite character in this series so far.
Striker- I don't know how I feel about Striker. I think that I was supposed to fall for his character more than I did. I think he just came in too late and I was already too attached to Beast. Something just didn't sit right with me about shipping Striker and Ameia. I think a lot of it has to do with how Striker was introduced in the first book. I think it also has to do with how Striker finally got Ameia to accept him. I didn't like it and it didn't feel completely consensual to me. He literally asked her when she had no other choice. And is it really a choice when you have no other options?
Vrillum- I knew from book one that he was a bad guy. I didn't fully comprehend how evil he was until this book though. He was truly sick and twisted and I am SO GLAD that he is dead. I just wish it wouldn't have been as quick and painless.
Overall, I did enjoy this book. At this point though, I don't really see myself continuing. I'm not really invested in most of the characters and I don't care about the Blackspire civil war plot AT ALL. There just isn't enough substance for me to continue.
........................................ there's potential for good sci fi................. but then this love triangle interferes.................................. the double standards are infuriating-- it just turned into Miss Page's fantasy, with multiple aliens wanting her.
I know I shouldn't be harsh, this IS just a short romance novel. But the sci fi!! I need light sci fi, and this is the only thing available to me atm.
1 Star = DNF. 2 Star = Finished. Didn’t really enjoy. 3 Star = Finished. Story was neither good nor bad. 3.5 Star = Finished. Story was good. Will probably pick up next in series if there is one. 4 Star = Finished. Enjoyed story & will definitely pick up next in the series! 5 Star = Bloody LOVED it! ❤️
I loved the first book, but almost hated this book. Amelie was a whiny stupid brat this whole book. I can't even count the number of times she made monumentally stupid decisions. I also found nothing at all likeable about Stryker. I get she called him, but she continued to tell you no and he just ignore her and forced his attentions on her. And until they had sex, every touch was non consensual. Spoiler alert: I can't even begin to understand how him forcing her to choose to accept him or marry her step brother was just taken in stride by anyone. If he really cared about her or really swore to protect her with his life, then he should have stopped that travesty without her having to agree to accept him before he would help her. I would never accept a man that did something so despicable to get into my bed. She also never batted an eye when he talked about how their people should be taking over the universe from the other side! His character is just creepy and ewe. I love thresholds, but this one makes me cringe.

I really like the humor. I almost miss it until this series. I really enjoyed this story. It probably isn't the review your looking for but it's a great read.
SEXY, FUN-FILLED SCI-FI ROMP !!! Title: The Dark Princes Series; The Ravager Chronicles Author: Sara Page Designation: Book Two of Four, Full-Length but NOT A Standalone, CLIFFHANGER AHEAD, Sci-Fi Romance Reading Platform: Kindle Unlimited My Rating: FIVE Delightfully Entertaining Stars***** ***I own Princess SOS, the first book of the series, but read the remaining three books of The Ravager Series using Kindle Unlimited. My review is for the entire series but there are NO spoilers included.
Oh my! Oh my! Oh my! I loved, loved, loved The Ravager Chronicles! This was my first time reading the work of Sara Page but it certainly won't be my last! I completely fell in love with Page's easy to follow style and perfect melodic prose. So, how can prose be melodic, you ask? Well, for me, it happens when the words of a story turn into a beautiful song. I hear a melody of words composed of the perfect combination of notes that can be described as sexy, sweet, seductive, sensual, steamy, romantic, funny and serious. And this story had it all along with a whole lot more! There was action, adventure, angst, heartache, loss, wicked enemies and plot twists galore! OMG! I was totally captivated, riveted to my seat, white knuckling my ereader with my heart fluttering wildly in my chest while the pages flew as quickly as the time! It was FABULOUS and I loved every single minute!
But let's talk a few details... The Ravager Chronicles is an exciting, highly imaginative, fast-paced, well-crafted science fiction romance. The narrative is beautifully written in the first-person with a single perspective from the heroine Princess Ameia. Normally, I'll be the first to admit, I enjoy dual or multiple perspectives but this was basically Ameia's story and it worked in the context of this story and for me. I didn't feel like I was a missing a thing by only having one point of view. The dialogue was smart, snappy, well-executed, at times hilarious and flowed effortlessly. But my favorite element of this sexy romp was, without a doubt, the characters. I loved them all, even the bad guys! I was immediately drawn into this story on the very first page by Princess Ameia who found herself in quite the pickle. She'd just turned 18 and had only celebrated her birthday at a grand celebration the night before. She certainly never expected her wicked stepbrother to trick her onto a spaceship, then into an escape pod by feigning an emergency and launching it into space... and during her own party no less! Landing on a strange uninhabited planet in an antiquated escape pod with very little water, no edible food, and no real supplies, attired only in her pretty pink party dress, was certainly no day at the beach, especially after the huge purple alien showed up growling MINE! And did I mention he was naked?!? Oh dear! What's a princess to do? You'll have to read the series to find out!
Did I like this book? No, I LOVED it! I would like to take a moment to include a little personal note about this story. The first book of the series, Princess SOS, was offered as a free download during an Amazon promotion which is how I came across this series originally. I did not know at the time it was not a standalone read and was somewhat perturbed when I got to the end and realized there was a cliffhanger but decided to check out the second book and discovered the remaining three books and the complete box set of the series was available in Kindle Unlimited so I immediately borrowed the entire collection and dove into Book 2, The Dark Princes. Don't stop reading at the end of Book 1. Personally, I was a little frustrated because the author did NOT include this information in the blurb for Princess SOS and she should have disclosed this to the readers. I almost didn't continue the story but I truly loved the story and felt compelled to see it through to the end and so glad I did! And the story just got better and better! We see a complete metamorphosis of young Princess Ameia as she grows and matures from a naive and somewhat selfish child to a wonderful heroic young woman. I completely fell in love with Ameia and all her mates. Would I recommend it? You bet and I am but only for adult readers who enjoy a whole lot of fun and a heaping helping of sex with multiple mates! That's right! Amelia has more than one mate, dearies! So, you better buckle up for this one! Will I read this author again? Abso-freak-lutely! As a matter of fact, as soon as I finish this review, I'm racing to Amazon to read Page's Moon Alley Series Box Set! And finally, was I entertained? Completely! Fabulous entertainment and an awesome read!
I enjoyed this, but Ameia just kept frustrating the hell out of me. I prefer my leading ladies to kick ass and take names. Ameia is such a damsel in distress; it is so frustrating for me. For a woman who is supposed to inherit a kingdom, you would think she would have a bit of a spine. But she doesn’t, she just let’s all the males in her life push her around because they are bigger and stronger than her. I say to hell with that crap, if you are weaker, get a bat, get sneaky, get cunning and use your wiles, but don’t let a man run roughshod over you. Needless to say, I felt like yelling at her a lot.
The twist with Striker was also claiming Ameia as his, and that was unexpected. His personality with her runs so hot and cold that I can understand her reluctance to trust him. That and she was raised to only have one relationship.
The overall story has grown on me, and I love this world. I hope that Ameia becomes more as a person and finds some inner strength the farther in the series we go. One thing to note is that finally the questions from the first book that were left hanging were answered.
I am giving The Dark Princes (The Ravagers Chronicles #2) 4 Boundless stars, the world and character building keeps getting more and more intricate and intense, I can’t wait for more.
I wish I could start my review with "duuuuude" because that's what came to my mind when I thought about reviewing this.
Man, it got hot in there.
I loved the turn the story took. I loved that Amelia doesn't really trust them even though she loves them. I LOVE Striker and his games and his rough fucking.
The sex is phenomenal. The characters are amazing.
I did feel like the father was a wuss. But eh, humans are imperfect. The thing that I was looking forward to is probably (read hopefully) going to come in the next book. I wanted to read an honest to God ménage. I wanted to read a threesome and I didn't get that. That was the only disappointing thing.
I loved that the step brother had such a creepy vibe from like the second he was described. It was like jeoffery from GoT. You just read one sentence and go nope - that's an asshole.
Really excited to read the next one.
This story gets a 4.5 from me simply because I missed the ménage.
All my love, Sri

This is my 2nd read of this series and I had forgotten that this series is a slowly growing RH which I am totally okay with. This book showcases Ameia’s return to her home planet, the addition of Striker as her mate, the demise of her stepbrother who betrayed her that got the ball rolling with the whole series, and the recovery of her father.
The relationship between Striker and Ameia may not be everyone’s cup of tea. The Raveger species has what I would consider some caveman or animalistic instincts like fierce obsession. Striker embraces those instincts a little more than Drek and can come off as aggressive in his pursuit of Ameia but she likes it, and so do I. 😅
I cannot wait to read the next book because I remember who her next 2 mates are and it’s HOT 🔥🔥🔥
This one was just kinda meh. Ameia remained as ridiculously naive and dumb as she did in the last book. Of course most of that had to do with the secrets Drek and Striker were keeping from her. Even though Striker told her it was Drek’s idea, he wasn’t exactly tripping over himself when Ameia demanded answers. I was hoping to see Ameia be a Princess and take charge, instead she was the damsel in distress. And a stupid one at that. Hopefully the next one is better.
Liked the story line a lot. Was a lot of fun - But
I get liking to tell stories. But if you're going to write them down, learn grammar and punctuation, or have someone who does know grammar read and correct for you. It drives me crazy when verb tenses are all over. When there are two or three tenses in one sentence let alone in one paragraph it is just too much!!
The Dark Princes - Striker hears the call and saves the day in the last book. Prince Drek and Striker return the princess back to her homeland and find it in disarray. Vrillun, her step-brother's trickery leads to his own demise. Ameia has the right to become queen once more but another plot twist leads you to the next story.
I loved reading this story! It picks up right where Princess SOS ended. Poor Ameia, being pursued by two sexy alpha aliens! Not! That's a dream come true for most women. There are a lot of misunderstandings due to cultural discrepancies and there is a fiendish plot to be uncovered.
I received this book as an Advanced Reader Copy and highly recommend it.
This was an okay book that could have been so much better. The heroine is an annoying immature brat. I hated that she kept calling Drek beast and kept referring to him as beast. I actually liked Striker and I just felt sorry the guys were stuck with the princess. I did like the storyline but Ameia just needs to grow up.
Amelia has found herself not one big, purple alien but two?
A wonderful continuation from book one and we get to meet big, sexy purple alien number two. Derek is her first Calling, and she only wants him right? Striker is scary and annoying, but he says she Calls to him. I loved where this second story continued, and I am hoping part three is as captivating to read!
Excellent story with characters you want to cheer. Ameia is finding love and adventure as well as fulfilling a scary prophecy. The strong men in the story range from sensitive to down right scary. Can't wait for the next book.
I read this one from start to finish and I really liked it. The mystery of what was going on kept me engaged. I also really liked the back and forth between Striker and Ameia.
The princess still lives with her head in the sand, but her two men are not above keeping secrets which adds to the confusion. More depth added to the storyline so we will see how book 3 goes.
