The Daddy School #2

Father Christmas

Rate this book
Cops, kids and Christmas.

When John Russo showed up at Molly Saunder's Daddy School carrying a not very well concealed weapon, she thought the worst. When she learned he was a cop looking for care for his two-year-old son, she wasn't much happier.

But motherless Mike Russo tugged at her heartstrings, and Molly just knew he would benefit from her program. So would his father. If anyone needed lessons in being a daddy, it was Detective John Russo. No matter that his job was totally beyond her comprehension. No matter that he was dangerously handsome. No matter that the Christmas season made her nostalgic about family. All that mattered was little Mike - wasn't it?

I didn't like this one nearly as much as the first one.
Daycares never run as smoothly as Molly's. Gail was COMPLETELY out of line and Molly was a judgmental jerk. I'm glad John called her on it. I 100% dont think John and Molly are going to last. She only seems to accept his job on her terms: chasing down a pickpocket and arresting him: fine! Arresting a drink college kid who attacks an armed officer: how DARE YOU. Goes on a high speed chase to retrieve one of Molly's daycare kids from a rogue parent trying to kidnap his daughter? Weeeeellll....it wouldn't have happened if Molly wasn't trying to avoid John so it's kinda her fault and she can kinda get in trouble because her staff kinda didn't follow procedures that are in place to prevent noncustodial parents from kidnapping their kids in the first place.... she'll allow it! Is this how he's going to spend the rest of his life/career? Hey Mols, there's been a murder. Is it ok with you if I arrest the guy? Or nah?

Sweet Romance

I can understand why Molly had reservations about John being a cop, but I don't understand why she didn't have them at the beginning if the relationship.

I also wondered why she didn't explain her sister's feelings about police officers to John, especially after Gail confronted him with such hostility.

Those were two things that bothered me about this book But, overall, it was a sweet romance. I did enjoy the relationship between John and his son, Mike.

Great Hero. Okay heroine.

I love how "The Daddy Series" portrays so vividly the hectic life of a parent. It's almost miraculously that a love story can emerge from the chaos, but it does. I loved how well crafted the Hero (John ) was. From his melancholy and stoic, laconic nature to how he regressed in his language skills when he talked to his two-year-old.

The main reason I didn't give it five stars was because the heroine Molly seems unforgiving. John is a committed policeman and she judges him like he was a criminal for carrying a gun. The background story about her sister being harassed by a policeman didn't convince me that she had the right to be so judgmental. Especially when she was the one who started chasing
John to begin with.

I wish the story would've had an epilogue where we could have seen them making things work, and we could have seen John happy. His gloomy personality does leave you a little worn out.

The second book in The Daddy School is all about Molly, who was introduced in the first book. She intrigued me in Father Found and she's even better in Father Christmas. John was introduced in the first book, too. He's the one who helped to locate Samantha's mother and get everything resolved. He's much better in Father Christmas, too. It was fun to watch the two of them struggle through their hang-ups, put preconceived notions aside, and reach some compromises. Father Christmas is adorable, quick, and often laugh out loud funny. The kids steal the show, as usual!!!

John Russo is a police officer and the divorced single dad of a boisterous two year old. When his childcare falls through, he enrolls his son in the preschool owned and run by Molly Saunders. He also enrolls in her Daddy School to try and learn how to better parent his son. What he didn’t sign up for was the immense attraction he feels for Molly or having any relationship with anyone—he knows he’s not cut out for it. But sometimes we don’t get what we want, but we do get what we need.

Sweet.

I like the whole Daddy School project, wish it was something that happened in reality to allow fathers to have that type of interaction within a learning environment. This is a sweet and heartwarming story. I would say that Michael was way to eloquent for a two year old though.

Great story

This is the story of Molly, a preschool owner, and John, a police detective. John has sole custody of his 2 year old son and enrolls him in Molly's school. John and Molly are drawn to each other but complicating their growing relationship is Molly's sister's full blown hatred of all police officers.

Heart wrenching

I felt the pain and the joy in this story. Isn't that life? Portrayed so well in this book. The author uses the profession of the father to show the problems in this relationship. Really there are many problems in relationships but how they are handled creates a loving family.

Ebook

She owns a DayCare, he’s a single Dad that needs care for his 2.5 year old son. He’s a cop and so attractive, but he isn’t ready to get involved. She helps him when he gets knifed and they progress from there to a relationship.

Another great hit by Judith Arnold!
1st let me say, I read / listened to this book in audio format via audible.com. I grab audiobooks whenever I can as they have so much more to offer over a book. The narrator gives us proper pronunciations, accents and lots of emotions, thus adding excitement in all the right places! Audiobooks also give us the freedom to do other things while listening such as yard work, chores, driving & even playing games! It is like listening to the movie on TV, only better as it really is the book & we all know the book is always better!
John Russo is a cop & a single father. John needs to find a daycare to put his son in since his wife left him for another man. John meets Molly Saunders who runs a daycare / preschool. From the moment they meet sparks fly. John also attends the Daddy School to teach parents as well as kids!
I loved this book for many reasons. It is well written and very believable! The author, Judith Arnold kept me interested through entire book and still managed to entertain me & make me laugh! The narrator, Tom Dheere did a great job with all the voices too. Tom did an excellent voice of Michael, the 2 year old son! Very impressive! Kudos to both the author & the narrator for delivery another great hit! I can't wait to read book 3. I love how books run in a series so we can totally relate to them!

Second book in the 'Daddy School' series. I picked up this book mainly because I enjoyed the first book, ' Father Found and I actually felt more of a connection with Molly than with Allison.

I love cute, quick romances and because I already 'knew' the characters it wasn't hard to fall in love with them.

Similar to Father Found I was slightly disappointed by the mind sets of the main characters, but as with any romance, it all was worked out.

What a Wonderful Story!

In my opinion this book is an absolutely awesome story with everything it takes to make one. It has beautifully complicated characters with even more complicated lives who have to deal with those complications in order to have their happily ever after.

Great story, thank you Judith Arnold!

Enjoyed this love story, good characters, and I really enjoy the family situation. The life of police and all those that serve in dangerous professions can find love, but sometimes is a bumpy journey.
