The war's over but danger still lurks. As the packs align, hidden currents are about to cast a shadow over the peace. Charming, handsome, and with a smile on the edge of sin, Nico has loved Olivia from afar for what seems like forever. When Olivia is kidnapped, he not only finds himself alone with her, but standing between her and an angry wolf out for revenge. Olivia learns how Nico feels that day, he just hopes he's not left it too late. Olivia planned for her life to change when she left school-but she never bargained on Nico. He is the wolf who could so easily shatter her carefully constructed plans, ones she set in place to escape her father. It's time she stepped out from the shadows. It's time she became brave. Wolf Dancer is the second installment of the A New Dawn series. It is about Nico and Olivia, but don't worry Bass and Kat are still in this book too. Nico is Bass's best friend and he's been secretly in love with Olivia. However, it doesn't stay a secret for long once Olivia has been kidnapped by a former pack member.

Nico was an interesting and likable character. I was so happy when he came into his own person (or cave man sort of way) when Olivia was kidnapped. Meanwhile, Olivia was shy and timid. Of course she had a crappy past and keeps secrets. Her father was a dick and deserves to die. She dreams about leaving and going to NYC to be a ballet dancer at school. Which means trouble in paradise for Nico.

Nico and Olivia's relationship was cute. Predictable but cute. I also liked how we got a glimpse into Bass and Kat's relationship as well. Everyone had some character growth but I was still kind of bored in this book. Nothing really excited happened. I liked and hated characters. Since there's one more book, and it's about Cage and Katalina, I will definitely be diving into it. I hope it's more exciting than this one but I have no expectations.

I'm feeling really tired today, why you ask?? Well last night, at around 9pm I started reading 'Wolf Dancer' I was so enthralled in the story Rachel weaved that I found myself finished, but when I looked at the time?? it was 3am.... AGAIN (I did this too with book 1). MAJOR BOOK HANGOVER today. I can't believe how long it's been since I first read about Kat & Bass, but once i started reading it was like I'd never left. 'Wolf Dancer' is book 2 in Rachel's "New Dawn" series, I strongly advise you to read the first book in the series 'Winter Wolf' prior to reading this book.

Nico has always kept an eye on Olivia, so when he's walking back to pack lands but unknowingly finds himself where Olivia is just before an ex pack member attacks, he doesn't think twice before jumping into the situation.... I don't want to give anything away, but I can say Nico & Olivia's story is tough in places, caused me tears (it wasn't a pretty sight), thank goodness everyone in the house was asleep already. Yes Kat & Bass are in there quite a bit, seeing how they interract through Nico & Olivia's eyes. OMG I can't forget Arne, that dog is AMAZING. The last few chapters, that's when I cried the hardest! I think Rachel has weaved her magic once again & I can't wait to read what she has instore next time in the "New Dawn" series.

The story of the Dark Shadow and River Run packs continues, but while Bass and Kat are present (and you get to see them as a cute couple), this story is focused on Nico and Olivia. Nico is Bass's best friend and advisor. He's been secretly loving Olivia for years - in a non-stalkerish way. When Olivia is kidnapped by a disgruntled former pack member, he finally gets the chance to show her how he feels. Olivia is super timid and has 2 big secrets - 1) her father emotionally abuses her, and 2) she is a great ballet dancer. Her father hopes that Olivia's schooling in the real world will lead to a job so they can leave the pack and she can support him as payback for "murdering" his mate when Olivia was born. Olivia hopes to earn a spot at a ballet school in NYC and has an audition coming up. Either way, it looks like she will be leaving - not so great for loverboy, Nico.

This was a cute story, but predictable. While I liked seeing how Bass & Kat's relationship has developed since book one, and I did like Nico and Olivia together - I just felt a little bored.

*** Gifted in exchange for an honest review ***

Ms Raithby does it again, I may be blaspheming but I think I enjoyed this book more than Winter Wolf Yes - Bass and Kat make an appearance which is fantastic, but learning more about the other pack members, and of course we met Nico in the first book, and he captured a corner of my heart then... I think he got most of it now.

Nico is not a pure blooded shifter, having a human mother and as a half breed wolf he has sometimes had issues with the pure bloods of the pack, but being best mates with the Alpha and Bass creating a title for him as "Alpha Advisor" he is taking the honour seriously - the eyes and ears of the lower pack members so that the issues of the past do not go unnoticed again.

Olivia, now there was a girl/wolf who is a deep character, on the one hand she seems submissive and a walkover, but when it comes to her hearts desire she was determined to follow through.

This book is a story of how 2 people who are right for each other, have to learn that sometimes the timing isn't quite right... Nico had difficult choices to make, but in the end he got his HEA.... and to find out how then you will have to buy the book.... I recommend it and I will be ordering my Paperback as soon as its live.

Well Done Rachel for yet another unforgettable story - one I will re read again I am sure.

Start Book 3 Wolf Sight - this one I have been intrigued about for ages - the title is is so mysterious!

As I thought, Wolf Dancer was more enjoyable than Winter Wolf for me. I think with a series like this, it takes some time to get all the world-building flushed out, and I loved the choice to switch to Nico and Olivia as the main characters, while still seeing Bass and Kat.

I enjoyed getting to know more of these characters, and they are starting to feel more well-rounded. They are characters who I am really starting to care about and I am excited to see where their stories go.

Fans of PNR will devour this series. I’m really looking forward to seeing how this series progresses. It’s already gotten better, so I have a feeling it will continue to!

I was a little bummed that the main characters changed from Kat and Bass to Nico and Olivia. But we do still see Kat and Bass, so that’s alright.
That being said, I did not like Kat in this book. I get that Bass promised her that she’d never have to change, but that’s completely unrealistic! You live in a different society now, your status has changed, and it’s no longer just you. She needs to grow up and learn to compromise better. I really liked Bass though! I think that he’s doing the best that can be expected, given the changes in this life.

Now about Nico and Olivia.. I liked them! Nico is cute and funny. He understands humans, so he’s a little more normal than Bass. My heart just hurt for Olivia! Raithby does an excellent job of writing about someone who is dealing with abuse. But she also didn’t go too far and make it too explicit. There are a few minor incidents, but I didn’t have any issues with reading them. I like that Nico just tries to support Olivia and isn’t out to change her completely. Even though it breaks his heart, he encourages her to pursue her dreams!

I’m looking forward to book 3!

**ARC was given to me by the author for an honest review**

Nico has worshipped Olivia from afar. His wolf recognizing her as the most special of all things and the reason he breathes. He’s not able to tell her how he feels, but watching her far a distance is no longer possible when another wolf attacks her. Suddenly they were thrust together to fight for something that will change their lives.

Olivia is a submissive wolf, degraded and abused by her father. Her only escape is ballet. Her goal has been to train until she could audition for a space at a ballet academy. This would take her away from her father and be the place she could finally find herself. Nico’s protection and love changed the need to run. Instead she finds the truth of her own strength, beauty and kindness.

I loved the first book of the New Dawn series, but this one is my favorite. I can’t wait to discover just what comes next. I’m sure it won’t disappoint.

Wolf Dancer - Rachel M Raithby 5 Big Stars !

Another amazing read from Rachel Raithby, Olivia aka Livy lives with her father and has put up with his bitterness for her whole life, when she is captured, Nico tries desperately to save her and everything slowly begins to change.

Rachel has an amazing writing ability that pulls you in from the first few pages and transports you straight into their world.

I absolutely loved that we not only had Nico and Livy in this book, we also get to read more of Katalina and Bass.

Whilst it's not essential to read Winter Wolf first (which by the way is one of my favourite books), I would highly recommend reading it first as this one follows on and you'll understand Bass and Katalina much more, oh and neither book has those dreaded cliffhangers.

This is an amazing YA paranormal read which I highly recommend reading.

I am giving this review on behalf of Kats Book Promotions/ Katsindiebookblog. Yet again I am blown away with Rachel’s work. Book 1 was great, and well this one… was fabulous! It was very hard to put down so I highly recommend that you set plenty of time aside to read this. Oh, and if you have not read Winter Wolf yet, do so before reading this one. This story is based on Nico and Olivia, however there are many appearances by Kat and Bass. Neither of these souls have had a great life growing up. Nico is not of pure blood, and poor Olivia was abused by her own father. When both are pushed together by an attack, both of them seem to mend when they are together. Nico knew for awhile that Olivia was going to be special for him and his wolf. Is it possible for these two to have a true love even when more issues arise? Or will it pull them apart?

This was a sweet book that contained Alpha males. I loved the fact that you had Olivia that was always afraid to stand up for herself but than you had Nico that was always trying to make her see the strength that was hidden in her. I loved the fact that we got to see more of Bass and Kat and find out what was going on in their lives. The fact that Olivia had to go behind her a**hole of a fathers back and do what she always wanted to do was great. The only thing that I didn't like was that Olivia father was always making her feel bad for something that she had no control over but in the end that's what also made this story great, cause in that happening she discovered that she wasn't as submissive as she thought she was.

Absolutely brilliant!
If you loved winter wolf you'll love wolf dancer.
Nico and Olivia both have some pretty tough hurdles to overcome. This book has all you could possibly need in a shifter book. The beginning draws you in straight away, I couldn't put it down.
Highly recommended this book!

Wolf Dancer is the second book in the New Dawn series, and we get to learn more about Nico, Bass' friend and Adviser. He is only seventeen years old, but seems a lot older at times. He knows Olivia is his mate, but doesn't want to force the issue. He wants her to realise by herself. The trouble is, Olivia has been mentally and emotionally abused by her father for years, and doesn't believe in any self-worth. The only thing she has for herself is her dancing, and with that she has a goal in mind.

I adored this book! Olivia is as strong as she can be, showing unexpected strength at times. It was also a refreshing change to read about a gentle omega wolf, rather than a strong alpha. Nico and Olivia are indeed a perfect match, but the climax of the book? My heart was in my throat, and I was panicking about how it would turn out!

Wolf Dancer had no editing or grammatical errors to disrupt my reading flow. I found this to be a brilliant addition to the series, definitely leaving me wanting more. Highly recommended by me.

Get this book

I gotta say I liked Kat and Bass, but i didn't love them. They were just interesting enough to me to get me to download book two. And I'm really glad i did.

Nico might just be too good to be true. So steady and strong of heart, but nothing less than complete devotion could ever have been what Livy needed.I

Olivia might be too sweet to survive, but who else would have ever been able to latched on to Nicos heart.

The author really brings both characters alive. spite of how almost perfect they are, they come across as relatable.

As much as I loved this story, and strongly recommend it, I can't stress enough how important it is to read Kat and Bass ' story first. A great deal of this just would never make sense without it. So stop reading reviews and get started.

Now I'm off to see what Cage has been up to.

I love this book series, this book especially delves into the struggle's that we deal with when we have passion and drive to reach for our dreams.
Olivia wants to be a ballerina but gets no support from her father, her home life is not the best, she keeps to herself, spending what little time she has spare dancing, with the sole goal of making it out of her small town, and the severe restrictions that are placed on her by her father. Nico has had a crush on Olivia for as long as he can remember, when Olivia is attacked one night after school, Nico manages to intervene (no he's not stalking her I promise) his actions not only set her free to follow her dreams , but also to realize that sometimes love comes when you are least expecting it, and it about changing perspectives, to accomplished both the goals of the heart and of the soul.

This was the second book in the New Dawn series I really like how the author just picked up right after book 1. Of course, she brought in new characters and these new characters brought a whole new level to the series. I loved Nico and Olivias story so much. Nico- he is such a wonderful guy who knows what he wants and is willing to wait for it. Olivia- her story was a bit hard for me to get into but I understood the reasoning and as the book went on, I found myself really liking her a lot. This book has romance, fantasy and action, I wonder what new characters we will see in book three.

Get ready to cry

A beautifully written heart wrenching story. A story that clearly shows how no matter how much a person is best down they can rise up and become a winner. The author does an excellent job of covering every emotion you have with her strong characters and great writing skills.

I wish I could edit these books...

I am genuinely loving these books. The author has built a wonderful world and awesome characters. My one complaint is still the need for editing! I don't want to be "That guy" but when you're really into a story and mentally have to stop and fix the sentences, it really detracts from the enjoyment.

Happy to get more info on Kat & Bass.

I liked Kat and Bass as a couple and was happy they continued on into this book. I liked Nico but not so much with Olivia. I know she was a submissive wolf but I just couldn't connect that well with her. Wasn't very happy with the ending, seems like alot was skipped and hope the next will exp!ain.

Great book

This is a great sequel to the previous book. I loved the love that Bass and Kat shared, but the "wolf dancer" and Nick remains just as beautiful.. I'm hoping to eventually see some more of Toby and Jackson.

Charming storyline!

Love the characters in this story. I would have liked to find out more about Olivia’s experience in New York and what happened back on pack lands during her time away. Regardless I enjoyed the story and would recommend it.
