Looking for a well-written, tongue-in-cheek, guts to the ground cannibal thriller? Feast your eyes on this book and its cover. I have a feeling that the author had a wickedly gleeful time writing this one.
Once you are on the island, you may not return.....but a new life could be taken into consideration, if eating people is your thing.
An expedition on the hunt for research turns bad for one man. When he reaches the island to find it crawling with cannibals. Who string their victims and eat them slowly, as well as collecting their teeth....I'm not sure why? What will life be like on the otherside? Or do you really want to live after what you have witness before your very eyes?
The last two chapters of this collectible piece of literature gives death in such vivid prose. You can almost see the blood drip of the pages. If you some how get your hands on a copy of this....READ AND ENJOY!!
A meteorite strikes a deserted island so a small group sets off on an expedition of the island. It would be a pretty boring book if the island truly was deserted so lucky for us it’s teeming with bloodthirsty cannibals!
Michael Faun spins a great tale with just the right amount of character development right before they’re brutally devoured. The story highlights humanities selfishness and self-indulgent tendencies. There’s mystery, suspense, Hell, even a little romance. And then there’s blood. Glorious blood!
Cannibal Island is the literary equivalent of the classic Italian Cannibal films of the 70’s and 80’s the likes of Cannibal Holocaust, Cannibal Ferox, The Man From Deep River, and Mountain of the Cannibal God. Michael Faun has done his research and he knows the genre well. The proof is in this novella, so if you have even the slightest interest in Cannibal Horror this is a must read.
I usually cringe at anything with Cannibal in the title. But Cannibal Island is a highly polished piece of literary grindhouse for the mind. Michael Faun is a very talented and very demented fellow. I will read more of his work.
I received a complimentary copy for an honest review.
