The true story of a successful Hindu priest whose world was changed by an unexpected encounter with the love of Jesus Christ. Devoted to the Hindu scriptures and committed to his faith’s rituals and practices, Rahil Patel was a model priest. As a brilliant academic and captivating speaker, he travelled internationally for one of the most influential Hindu organisations in the world, promoting Hindu thought in political, social and economic spheres. Sincere and eloquent, his spiritual counsel was received by politicians, industrialists and celebrities. Yet for all this, Rahil felt a hunger in his heart for peace. Hoping to find a loving God, he intensified his meditations and study of the Hindu scriptures, but nothing seemed to work – until he unexpectedly encountered the risen Jesus Christ! Finally he had been found by the love he was looking for! So began an extraordinary journey of painful stripping away and profound inner healing that would lead to a joyous freedom he had never known possible.

I just finished Found by Love by Rahil Patel, and honestly, I’m still thinking about it. It’s the story of a Hindu priest who commits his life to Christ – but that sentence doesn’t even come close to capturing the depth of his journey.
What struck me most was how God kept showing up in Rahil’s life in ways that only God can orchestrate. From the rituals and traditions he grew up with, to the questions he began to ask, to the moments when Jesus met him so personally – it’s one of those stories that makes you stop and realize again just how far God goes to pursue us.
I found myself deeply encouraged by his courage to seek the truth no matter the cost. The whole book is a powerful reminder that Jesus really is the way, the truth, and the life, and that no one is too far outside His reach.
If you’re looking for a story that will strengthen your faith and expand your view of how God works in the world, I highly recommend Found by Love. Super awesome book.
Very moving: The author is an intellectual, and yet his telling of the story is incredibly rich.
Reading this shortly after I'd spent a lot of time studying the book of Acts (New Testament) was quite helpful, especially as a Westerner with the consequent 'buffered self' described by Charles Taylor.
Also leads me to recognise how much I've tended to take for granted. For Rahil, belonging to Christ has changed everything.
“The deep and beautiful peace of Christ overrode all my circumstances, whether it was a lack of money or not having a home of my own. It was not the 'stillness' practised by Hindu swamis, as I had done, but a presence, a peace filled with His love and from Him directly. That peace and the comfort of being loved by a Father was reaching straight to my soul and brought more and more rest as the days went by. It was not conjured up but given without any effort, all by His grace and mercy.”
Absolutely excellent and touching journey! Very generous in opening up including some embarrassing details. Learned a lot about Christianity and Hinduism and the contrasting philosophies. This book would certainly help people to learn more about these 2 philosophies.
I really enjoyed reading Patel’s insights into Hindu faith and practice; the unrest of his heart and mind; and his being pursued and found by God in Christ.

What I loved the most about this book was its coherence and easy to read style. The chapters were broken into little number of pages and hence it was very easy to read. Also, I could get into a first hand glimpse into the author's swami lifestyle and his christian journey.
I think that this book is a good incite into his life and his journey as a Hindu priest. It is very interesting and his feelings are well portrayed throughout the book.
