Heather L.L. FitzGerald writes from her home in Texas, while dreaming of being back in the Pacific Northwest, where she grew up. When her four kids were young, she enjoyed reading aloud until her voice gave out. (Her son, who is autistic, would just move on to his favorite book on CD).
Certain stories became good friends--the kind you want to revisit. The kind you wish never needed to say goodbye. Those are the sort of stories Heather aspires to write. Stories worthy of delicious coffee and tea, that are difficult to leave.

This is the strangest story I've ever read. Okay, that sounded terrible! But it's true. There's lots of quirky characters, but drake was my favorite. He's just so sad, and good, and...yeah. <3 It's strange. It's weird. It's borderline to being downright creepy! But...I almost liked it. I enjoyed the Beauty and the Beast retelling and, as weird as this story was, it WAS good. :)

Wendy is DETERMINED to interview Mr. Brantley, the mysterious man who runs Brantley Insane Asylum who suffers from a condition called hypertrichosis. She had no idea that she would have to stay in the asylum for 30 days in order to get his approval for this interview, however this could be her big break into her career as a journalist so she takes it. Little does she know about the strange things that occur in this asylum and even though the patients are friendly, not all of them welcome her presence.
Will Wendy get the story of all time or will she discover a much bigger purpose?
A VERY clever retelling of Beauty and the Beast! My favorite character was Stanley, the butler :) If you subscribe to Heather's newsletter, this story is free. Definitely want more books from this new author!
