Synopsis:
Growing up in the small coastal town of Florida, Grayson Blackwood has defied the odds stacked against him. Appearances on the outside can be very deceiving. Coming from a wealthy family with an abusive father that won’t ever change, he’s determined to be a better man. Grayson is fighting for his family, his country, and the only woman he’s ever loved.

Ella Anderson has lived a hard life, growing up with a sick mom and a less than upstanding father. From hand-me-downs to food stamps, life was never easy for her family. But the one thing she could always count on was her family’s love, and for Ella, that was the most precious commodity.

When Ella moves to Lakeview, she meets Grayson in high school. The attraction is immediate for both. Dubbed as ‘just friends’, Grayson and Ella forge an undeniable friendship that leads to a powerful promise.

After high school, Ella and Grayson fall out of touch. A one-in-a-million chance meeting halfway around the globe brings the couple back together in a lifeless desert land, a combat zone where death is always present.

Alpha in his own right, Captain Blackwood leads his special ops team into a war-torn country, determined to take down a terrorist, while Ella struggles with the realization that Grayson has found her again.

Will their love survive time and their harsh separation from long ago? Can Grayson show Ella that they were made for each other?

Bluebirds mate for life. And Grayson’s Bluebird is coming home.

First time for me reading this author(s) and it will not be the last.
I absolutely loved this book and everything about it. The writing, the story the characters.
It was one of those books that made me swoon, cry and laugh out loud and swoon some more. It also had me biting my nails and sitting at the edge of my seat with some of the more suspenseful scenes.
I enjoyed the timeline in the book which was actually over several years. We get the early year of them and then the later when they reunite and even after that. We learn what has happened in those years between so we really don’t miss a lot, which was great. While there was an instant attraction for them, I liked that they build up to their relationship over time. We see them grow and grow with each other.
Neither of them had a great childhood really and both had some rough times but they both stood strong and on their course, or made a new course for them.
I also really enjoyed the characters, they were easy to relate to and very enjoyable.
Grayson while very much an alpha male through and through, he also has a sweet and tender side to him, not to mention his sexy and funny side. I loved his nickname for Ella and the story behind it.
Ella, beautiful, sweet and funny Ella. I enjoyed following her through the book and see her grow not just older but as a person.
I loved them even more together, sweet, sexy, funny and most of all perfect for each other.
Overall I really enjoyed this book and feel like I gained some new awesome friends. I’m looking forward to read the next two books in the series.
I rate this book 5 ★

Hmmm...2.5 **

Grayson Blackwood and Ella Anderson meet in H.S. They are both part of OTC in their school and even though they come from very different backgrounds they become friends. Grayson comes from a wealthy well known family; however, no one knows what happens behind closed doors at his home. His father is abusive and Grayson cannot wait until he can get away from him. Ella has to work in order to help out at home. Not only is her father a con man, she has a terminally ill mother and really has no time for anything but school and work.

Little by little Grayson and Ella get closer. They learn things about each other and almost a year later declare their love. Grayson has always planned to got to West Point and even though he has to leave, he knows he will be back for his bluebird. His promise to her is to make something of himself and come back so they can be together.

Seven years later.....Grayson is the captain of his special ops team and Ella has become a military nurse. Grayson and Ella have never gotten over each other, but lost contact 2 months after Grayson left to West Point. They have both moved on with their lives, but in an unexpected turn of events they find themselves at the same hospital in the Middle East.

Grayson cannot believe he has found Ella and she is beyond shocked to see Grayson. Even though they blame each other for their separation, they both discover that their separation was caused by someone else. Is it too late for Grayson and Ella? Ella seems to think so, as she has moved on. Grayson has also moved on, but has never had a serious relationship. He is now determined to get his Bluebird back. He is relentless in his pursuit of Ella.

This is a fast-paced, second chance sexy romance. It is action packed with betrayals, suspense, heartbreak, drama, and misunderstandings to figure out. Some OM drama

So, maybe I was not in the mood for this book because it was just okay for me. There were a few things that bothered me. That being said, I do own the 2nd book in this series and will be reading it soon.

Absolutely LOVE this story. My ONLY discord was that it was a 7 year gap.... I thought it was a little much. But that little detail aside it was absolutely wonderful!
Grayson and Ella have an undeniable attraction since the very first moment. 2 completely different people from 2 completely different lives.
Grayson spends most of his time not at school, avoiding his abusive father. His father who wants him to take over the ranch some day. And if possible his father will beat him, or his mother into submitting. One day he meets Ella, who will become his best friend. Female friend at least.
Ella has grown up way too fast. Her mother is dying and she is the one to take care of her, and her father cant do much of what needs to be done. Yet she never doubts their love for her and each other.
When Ella and Grayson finally cross the friend line, things explode. And the unbreakable friendship becomes so much more. Grayson has no choice but to leave to go into boot camp. But they swear to each other they will wait. They will make it together. But then something happens.
And then years later Ella has moved on, and Grayson is seriously injured. By pure happen chance Ella happens to be his attending on the military Medic facility. When he sees her everything comes rushing back. Every feeling, and heartache from being away form her. But after 7 years and now a fiance for Ella time has painfully moved on. What will Grayson do? He cant possibly move on without her in his life.

I was lucky enough to get an early copy of this one before final edits...but what I read was so good...it reminded me of a passionate romance like Nicholas Sparks would write and be made into a film, paired with an intense episode of Homeland. A family with a dark and violent history, the girl from the "wrong side of the tracks" and what spans over years and years from childhood to the deserts of the Middle East and back home again.
A sweetly funny and yet heartbreaking romance, mixed with a thriller of a military mystery makes up Grayson and Ella's book and although there were times the plot was a tad predictable and melodramatic, it still was full of some big surprises and was very enjoyable (when not emotionally depressing) to read.
I loved this debut book so much and look forward to what might come next or who the subject of the next one in the series might be.

I loved this book.
It did take me a little bit to get into it but once I did it made up for it. Once I got into the book I understood why it covered so much of the teen years so I can't hold it against the book.
I loved getting to know all the characters. I can't wait to read more about them. I didn't want to leave them.
This book does have a little twist to it and I never saw it coming. I tried to figure it out and I didn't. Great job!!!

One of the best things about working on this blog is getting to read new authors. I’m not sure that I would know about some of the talented new writers I’ve read if I wasn’t involved here.
F.G. Adams is a new author with a lot of potential. Like most stories there are things that I really like and a few suggestions to consider in the future.

Grayson is a second chance romance and everyone knows this is one of my favorite themes. Grayson Blackwood and Ella Anderson are high school friends. By the time they get to senior year the friendship grows into more with the expectation of a long term commitment for the future. Both characters have a challenging home life. Grayson’s family is wealthy and appear to have everything. However, his father is abusive and pressures Grayson to follow in his footsteps running the Blackwood ranch—Grayson has different plans. He wants to get away from his father’s rule.

Ella also has challenges at home. Her mother is terminally ill and Ella has to step in as surrogate mother. She does most of the house work, cooking, babysitting etc. and misses out on a lot of the activities high school students enjoy. She isn’t angry because she knows helping is keeping her mother alive longer. After high school this young couple go down different paths and lose track of one another. The challenge is when they meet later in life is there too much in their past to overcome or will they find their love again?

What I like:

The beginning of the story. The prologue grabs the reader’s attention and immediately sets up a relationship with Grayson. It is a hard look at his tough home life and not feel something special for Grayson.

I like the way the main characters meet as high school students. Grayson is a known player but he recognizes that his usual moves and pickup lines won’t work with Ella so instead of sex he strives to make Ella his friend. The first section of the story is captivating. As each of the main characters’ challenges at home unfolds it makes the reader feel for these two young people and hope they can overcome all the challenges in their path to adulthood.

I love the nickname Grayson gives Ella—Bluebird. He doesn’t share with her the story behind the nickname, it is personal and very lovely. These two young people are committed and loving.
The reconnection of Grayson and Ella as adults. I like that these two ended up following similar paths and then meet up again in another dangerous situation.

The chemistry is high. Grayson’s character is a very hot, seductive, and considerate lover. Sometimes I felt the chemistry more when they are a teenage couple as adults Ella “says” Grayson is her soulmate but it doesn’t really come across the way Grayson does. Grayson sets off more “feels” than Ella.

The dual point of view is one of my favorite storytelling methods. I like knowing what is going on in the heads of both main characters.

There is a good and satisfying ending.

What I don’t like:

The time jump isn’t smooth. It didn’t make sense to me why they weren’t together. The flashback to immediately after high school would work better if that information was before the time jump in my opinion. My note on the first page of “8 years later” is “What?” and that’s not a good what at that.

The reason for the breakup or losing connection isn’t believable to me with what we know about these two young people and their family histories. I immediately know what/who is behind everything. I get that Ella isn’t in the same financial class as the Blackwoods but damn she has to have access to a phone. Why isn’t there an angry phone call? Why doesn’t Grayson’s sister contact him and let him know what is going on? What is supposed to set up some angst just fell flat for me. I want more connection to Ella; I need to understand her actions. I guess what I’m saying is there is some telling or showing of the history but the feeling isn’t there.

The story needs the emotions that are felt in the beginning and at the end of the story to be more consistent in the middle. The desire to be together didn’t ring true and that made me angry and caused a temporary disconnect from both characters especially Ella. I actually put my Kindle down because I didn’t know if I wanted to read on. I’m glad I did though.

Grayson is a good debut novel. F.G. Adams shows a lot of potential. She knows how to write and has the ability to evoke a wide range of emotions. Grayson is book one of five in her This is Our Life series. The series centers on a group of friends from adolescent years to adulthood. It will be interesting to see how Ms. Adams’ skills grow over these next four books. I’m looking forward to reading more by this author.

This is a new author to me and I look forward to reading more from this author in the future. I was able to read the book in a day. I loved the storyline and found it very interesting.

Grayson Blackwood is the only boy in the family aside from his dear old daddy. His older sisters left home as soon as they could.

The Blackwood family is very wealthy and own / live on a ranch in Lakeview, Florida.
Mr. Blackwood wants Grayson to run the ranch when he retires and has been trying to acclimate him to the whole process. However, Grayson wants to be as far away from his father as possible.

Grayson had been abused and beaten on a daily basis growing up leaving him with bruises along his back and torso. As soon as graduates, he has plans to be a part of the military.

He sets his sights on Ella Anderson. Her family moved to the area 2 years prior but they are in a really poor, unnerving part of town, close to the railroad tracks.

Once Grayson really notices Ella, he will not stop until he makes her his!!
He seems to always be around whenever Ella is, he likes to come up behind her and whisper in her ear and likes to call her Bluebird. Ella tries to keep her distance because she knows Grayson is a player and doesn't want to be another notch on his belt. Ella is very attracted to Grayson and he knows it.
One night at a bonfire, he makes his move and kisses Ella. They do not see each other much for the rest of the summer and Ella tells him, that kiss cannot happen again. They can only be friends. Once school starts up again, Grayson tells Ella they will be friends and see where it takes them.

Ella is focused on her mother because she is very ill and she doesn't really have time for anything else besides school and work. She agrees to be friends with Grayson but that soon turns to more.

Soon after Grayson and Ella become a real couple, Grayson is leaving for West Point. He tells Ella he will be back for her and to wait for him.

Two months after he leaves, he receives a Dear John letter saying she couldn't wait for him and he should move on too. That nearly broke his heart. When on leave he went looking for Ella but was never able to find her.

Seven years later Grayson and his team were in the Middle East on a mission when things go horribly wrong and people need to be brought into the nearest Army Base Medical Center.
Once everything settles down a nurse walks into Grayson's room to check on him and it's none other than his Bluebird. She runs out of the room without looking back.
Grayson finds out Ella works at that medical center and so does her fiancé . Grayson needs to speak with Ella and find out what happened all those years ago and why she chose not to wait for him.

Ella and her best friend Savannah are kidnapped in broad daylight while out on a run, so Grayson and his team must find the girls before it is too late.

Will Grayson and Ella find their way back to each other? There's a lot stacked up against them. First Ella is engaged and second, Ella is kidnapped!

"It was never your choice, or my choice, or even Grayson's choice. Destiny has a funny way of tracking you down and making you surrender. It's true love, a gift from God for us to be together. Even you couldn't change that."

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This was an amazing debut novel by F. G. Adams. I experienced so many emotions while reading Ella and Grayson's story…joy, angst, dread, sympathy, anger, hope, excitement, etc. Once I started this book, I had to finish it.

The story starts with Ella and Grayson's teenage years. There is a gap between the teenage years and their current careers in the military, but there are enough details provided to fill in the gap without the excess "fluff" that I've noticed in some books. Both appear like normal teenagers to the outside world, but their lives at home are anything but normal.

While the first half is more of a YA romance, the second half of their story is a military romance. Not only are they focused on their military duties, they are also trying to move past a betrayal that took place years ago (unbeknownst to either of them at the time) and figure out if they have a future together. There is a plot twist, and it blew my mind! I kind of suspected who was involved but never imagined the why or the events that would take place.

The ending wraps up their story beautifully…or maybe just this part of their story! I'm hoping there will be another book because I'd love to read Savannah's story!

I hate revealing spoilers but I feel this one should be stated because of the possible trigger for some people. **SPOILER** There is violence and sexual assault mentioned and graphic description of some events and injuries. I didn't feel like this could or should be removed because this (and much worse) happens to our troops all too often.

I've only ever read one military romance and it was mind blowing...I never thought the genre would really but me but after reading this....I guess it is!

I loved the storyline to this. Sparks flew across the pages and the pages were full of different kinds of explosions that made my heart soar!

And imaging Grayson on his knee completely butt naked had my giggling as well. The scene at the Hilton near the end of the book gave me goosebumps all over. This new indie author is amazing and has so much potential, I hope she continues to write in this category.

The only downside I found was that some of the timing didn't add up, there were a few contradictions that gave me pause and I don't like that some of the chapters went back to something we already read from the character on previous pages...it confused me.

Other than those points, I really enjoyed it and really feel as if I'm about to have a book hangover.

(I'm pretty sure I've read the pre edited version, it still needs a lot of work to be a 5 star read, but this didn't impact my rating. I didn't include the editing in my 4 stars given to this book, only the points above are what made me down rate the star.)

Absolutely love second chance romances. Ella is from the wrong side of the tracks. Grayson grew up on the right side of the tracks but never had a chance of a "normal" childhood. Is there such a thing as love at first sight? Ella and Grayson enjoy some time together until he is able to make his escape as he joins West Point after graduation. A promise to make something if himself, for them, but does he keep his promise? Fast forward 7 years. How will each handle seeing the other again? Are they each other's past as they move towards the future? Can they handle the truth? Will the sleeper ruin their futures? Loved this story filled with happiness and love, sadness and anger, and a little bit of suspense. It was well written and even though quite alot of time passes in the book, it didn't take away from the story. I loved the characters, loved the "theme" and enjoyed it from start to finish. Definitely recommend!

FANTASTIC READ!! I LOVE THESE CHARACTERS!
F.G. Adams has written one of the best book I have read in a long time. I truly felt as though I was there and not just reading words. I couldn’t put it down!
Grayson needs to run faster and get to his hiding place before the monster can get him. He knows it is only a matter of time before it happens again. The beatings are relentless but if he does catch Grayson at least he can go to his safe place in his mind until it is over. That is how it is when you live under the thumb of someone who wants to control every aspect of your life because he thinks it will bring discipline and keep the good name Blackwood untarnished. No one knows what goes on behind closed doors. Grayson is just biding his time as he grows into his own life. Making the grades and playing sports is one step closer, also joining ROTC at school shows his leadership skills that he will need to advance his life. His senior year everything changes, he falls in love.
Ella has a life full of responsibilities a girl her age should not have to take on. Her family needs her for everything and as hard as it is she meets those responsibilities. They live in a seedy part of town and have to scrape by. She loves her family, her mother tries so hard to help Ella and some days are better than others. Her father is a con man and always on the run from someone. Ella just wants to get through until she can leave and never look back. Her senior everything changes, she falls in love.
Life can change a lot of things except the love Grayson and Ella share. He joins the military so he will be able to stand on his own two feet and take care of his Bluebird. They become separated for a very long time because of the actions the monster, Grayson grew up with, raised his ugly head again. Now Grayson is the Captain of his team and they are in the battle of a lifetime. There is an explosion and bullets are flying and Grayson ends up in a medic helicopter. Ella has joined the service and now is a nurse, and has moved on with her life. Can Grayson and his Bluebird find each other again and rebuild the love that has never let go of their hearts even after all these years?
Thank you so much F.G. Adams for sharing your talent with this amazing story. It is so well written! I can’t wait for the next installment!! A must read.

Book Review Grayson
Author FG Adams
FIVE STARS
Absolutely LOVE this book. I read it from start to finish and was left wanting more.
Grayson the only son of a rich rancher, has been abused as long as he can remember. His father was abused as a child and it has just carried to the next generation. Grayson has 4 sisters 3 older and a younger and will do anything and everything to protect his mother and little sister. His 3 older sisters all escaped as soon as they were able.
Ella, beautiful girl, turns down Grayson's advances and they agree to become friends. And friends they become, best friends, they dont go anywhere or do anything without the other being there. Ella has grown up with a loving mother who is not sick and dying, and a father that likes to gamble and is probably selling drugs at this point. She also has a little brother.
Ella and Greyson grow as friends up to the point of prom. At prom Ella and Greyson become oh so much more.
Greyson has had planned for years that he would go to West Point Academy and get away from his father. And after graduation he does just that. Not long after he leaves home he receives a letter from Ella telling him that things are over and he needs to move on. Hurt and saddened by this he tries to forget her and throws himself into his Special Ops Captian duties.
Ella receives a letter from Greyson about 2 months after he leaves for West Point telling her that he has met someone else and that she needs to move on. Heart broken and devistated she finishes her senior year in high school and goes to nursing school through the Army.
Several years later Ella is engaged to a Military Dr and is living a wonderful life as an Army surgical nurse when her life is turned upside down by a patient in the military base. It is Greyson. How in the world have their paths crossed. And what should she do now?
Ella and her best friend Savannah are out for a run when they are kidnapped and held hostage. Through many contacts and leads Greyson and his team find Ella and Savannah and rescue them.
Wonderful read. I left a lot for you to decipher as I didnt want to throw out any spoilers.. Definately a must read. Cant wait to see what else Fg Adams has in store for us.

I want to start this review saying that this was an awesome job especially given that it was the first book written. by the author. I love military romance and this was no exception.

Grayson grew up in a wealthy family but was abused by his father. He vowed to go in the military after graduating and never to turn out like his dad. After graduating as valedictorian, he stayed true to his word and left for West Point. He fast tracked it through and was place in command of his own special ops team straight after graduation.

Ella moved to town and met Grayson in high school. They formed an instant bond but she was afraid to pursue anything with him because of rumors she had heard about him and the fact that he was leaving in a year. She agreed to being friends only. She was only able to resist for a year.

The two went to prom together and everything changed that night. He vowed that she would forever be his "bluebird." After he left for West Point things took a drastic turn and they were lost to each other.

Seven years later, they have a chance run in overseas and Grayson pursues her relentlessly again. She is already in a relationship and engaged so she is resistant to his charms. He will not give up though. He vows that she is still his and will always be his.

What does the future hold for these two? Will they get their HEA? I can promise that you will be on the edge of your seat with the action that takes place and I'm not only talking about in the sheets action. Definitely a one click worthy read.

Have you ever felt that connection between yourself and another? Where when you first meet them and your eyes connect and you just know you are meant to be together. That's how Grayson and Ella felt when they first met. A friendships between the two begins and after some time turns to something more.

Both Grayson and Ella have had a difficult childhood - each with their own hard situations and both can't wait to be able to graduate school and move on to bigger and better things together. Grayson goes away to military school a year before Ella graduates and promises her he will be back for her and to not give up on them. Circumstances arise and Grayson and Ella's relationship ends.

Years later Grayson is the leader of an elite Army team and Ella is a nurse within the Army. The two end up reconnecting after Grayson ends up he getting wounded. The connection between the two is just as strong as it was years ago and is brought closer when Ella's life is held in the hands of terrorists.

Grayson had my heart in my throat from the middle of the book till the end. The twists and turns were both shocking and upsetting. I couldn't put the book down. F.G. Adams did an amazing job showing the emotions of each character.

Grayson and Ella were perfect together - Grayson said "she's the positive to my negative" and after reading the book I couldn't agree more!

I look forward to reading more from F.G. Adams!

Grayson is the first book in the This is our life series, The book starts out in a small town In Florida, and ends up in some scary places. It’s centred around two main characters Grayson the title character and his Bluebird Elle, the nickname becomes apparent as you read the book and is a main character in itself. The book is about true love fate and how nothing can keep you apart if fate has decided you are sole mates.
When the book opens its in small town Florida a place called Lakeview we meet Grayson he is your typical rich Jock in high school or is he. He has a dark family history that threatens to destroy him. Then we meet Ella who comes from the wrong side of the tracks literally, has a sick mother and a waste of space farther. Not what an overbearing farther would want for his son. They become best friends and more, then the worst happens. They both get Dear John letters.
We then catch up with them both several years later in the hot desert, both serving their country in different ways, a twist of fate brings them back together and even though they have both moved on. Or so they thought. As Bluebirds mate for life, sometimes they just need Fate to give them a nudge.
F.G Adams writes such a compelling story that I finished this in one day, I was even reading between calls at work, and I must warn you, have tissues at the ready. This is a great read, and I can’t wait for book two in the This is our life series.

Grayson
By F.G. Adams

Do you remember your first love? Or what about your high school sweetheart? I love this book! I give it 5 stars! Such lovable and endearing characters!! This book will have you reminiscing about your high school days.
Grayson Blackwood comes from a large family. Him being the only boy amongst 4 girls. He wants to join the army right after high school. He's always known that since he was a little kid. But his very abusive and controlling father, has other plans for him.
Ella Anderson is your typical girl next door. She's very beautiful and sweet! She is the glue that holds her family together. Her mom is sick and her dad is an alcoholic. So it's just her and her brother.
Grayson notices Ella as soon as her and her family move into town. But he decided to keep a distance. He doesn't want any distractions to get in the way of his plans.
But how long can they keep up this act? They are obviously drawn to one another right away... Their connection in undeniable! But can love endure all life's trials and tribulations? What about when someone is set to tear them apart??
You have to read this book to see what happens with these lovebirds! Such a great book! I absolutely loved it!!

Personally every woman deserves to have a Grayson in their life! Omg this man is just oozing in sex appeal. Grayson had a rough life growing up, his dad was a total dick to him and his mom & sisters, abused them, but Grayson I think got the worse of it. In highschool he meets Ella and they end up in love, Grayson ends up going to West Pointand eventually into the Army, Ella ends up going to nursing school and also into the Army, these lovebirds end up meeting again 7 years later in a Army hospital overseas in the middle of a war, after Grayson is wounded. So much as happened between them in the 7 years they have been apart, I loved the idea of this story, it was such a perfect lovestory, the right amount of heartache, surprise. Nothing was going to stand in Grayson's way once he found Ella again, I think deep down everyone dreams of having a man like that chase after them.
Such a great book!

***ARC READ AND MY HONEST REVIEW***

This is an amazing debut from F.G.Adams ~ Grayson is a gripping well written story that will draw all of your emotions to the surface.

The story between Grayson & Ella starts in High school and the back story for them both is at times heart breaking but they are drawn together and quickly fall in love.

Move forward several years and the military romance takes place, I have not read this type of Romance before and I loved it, along side the storyline for Grayson & Ella is another story of betrayal, lies and military life which fits so well into this amazing read.

A must read for lovers of books that deliver, heartbreak, betrayal, hot passion, love and drama.

Looking forward to the next book in this series.

First off let me say, this usually isn't my type of love story, but, OMG this blew me away. I'm so glad I read it! This book intrigued me from the very beginning. I wasn't able to put it down! I wasn't sure what was going to happen and I love how it went through all the stages of this character's life. Grayson is an amazingly strong boy/man. I don't know if I could endure all of the things he has in life.

Will things continue being bad for him or will it get better?

I don't believe in spoilers so you will have to grab a copy to see what it's all about. I promise, you won't be sorry!

I'm sincerely hoping that this won't be then end of me reading about Grayson.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I really enjoyed Grayson By F.G. Adams. Adams did a great job of letting you getting know the characters . Grayson is a sweet southern boy who seems to have it all, what most people don’t know is that his home life is anything but perfect, with a abusive father and a mother who is too scared to leave. Then we have a Ella who is strong, humble and determined. Ella has had It rough growing up her mother is very ill and her dad is a con artist. Our two main characters create an unlikely friendship that turns into a sweet romance. I don’t want to give too much away but they lose touch for several years and have chance encounter at a military hospital. Can they rekindle an old romance or is it too late and Will one of them survive danger and betrayal that is closer than they could imagine.

What a fantastic debut from FG Adams. This book just blew me away. I was drawn into this book from the very beginning until the end. No spoilers from me, but if you like military reads, with drama, suspense, bitterness, bravery and love, this is a definite for you.
Will definitely be putting this author on my favourite 1 click list. Cannot wait for the next story from this author.

Grayson
I have nothing bad to say about this book. It was a good book I just hope it doesn't bring up locked away memories for some people. It's always hard when abuse is involved. Ella and Grayson both have a rough childhood but they fight to over come it. They are high school friends that part ways and meet latter on in life only to become lovers. All along they just needed each other.

Wow, my first read by this author and I am hooked:) I absolutely loved the slow build up we got in the first half of the book, it was so genuine and "true" but the latter half, as much as I enjoyed it, I felt it was a bit rushed.

The Epilogue was absolutely stunning as was this couple:) I can't wait to read her next book!

I'm not sure

I liked this book but it just didn't hold my attention and I don't know why. The editing was pretty good. The story line was interesting. I just don't know maybe it was me or my mood I was just not invested in this book.

Grayson is the first book in the This is Our Life Series by F.G. Adams. It’s a story about Grayson and Ella. Grayson is abused as a child by his father. His older sisters have left town to get away from “dear ole dad” leaving behind mom, Grayson and younger sister Addie. Grayson vows to better himself and to never be like his father and grandfather. He knows that joining the US military and going far away to West Point is the best thing for his future. The future he wants with Ella.
Ella comes from a financially poor family. Her mother is deathly sick and her father is either a con-artist or junkie, I am not really sure, maybe both. This leaves Ella to take care of household chores, getting a job, taking care of little brother, Evan, all while going to school. Ella vows to be something to someone, one day.
When Ella and Grayson finally get the nerve to talk to each other, the sparks fly. They become best friends then lovers. Grayson promises he will come back after boot camp and Ella’s own high school graduation. But when he does, she’s gone. And no one knows where to find her. After seven long years and some interesting twists, the two finally find each other again, but is it too late for them? Who is Michael? Why is Ella is danger? Can they overcome the time apart?
Oh the feels in this book…the bluebird reference made me sigh…even writing this review, remembering…sigh. I really liked this book and these characters. While they both were devastated by the loss of the other, or what they perceived as the loss of the other, there wasn’t a complete break down in character. Ella didn’t come across as a damsel in distress. She got on with life and accomplished things. Grayson didn’t turn into a player but continued in his search, never giving up his hope of finding his bluebird.

Grayson Blackwood is a high school student who is just trying to survive. He is trying to survive his abusive father and a rather tough home life on a ranch. All Greyson wants from life is to go to WestPoint Military Academy to escape. At least that was all the wanted until he met Ella.
Ella is the first girl Greyson is truly attracted to. She is beautiful, smart, and also in the ROTC program. She doesn’t have an easy life either. Her father is a grafter and her mother is very, very sick. Ella knows a relationship with someone like Greyson wouldn’t be good for her, but she just can’t stop herself.
It seems that Ella and Greyson are meant to be together. Until it is time for Greyson to graduate and head to WestPoint. Ella is a year younger than Greyson and has to stay behind to finish high school.
Fate, however, is a funny thing. Greyson and Ella reconnect halfway around the world, but Ella is committed to someone else and Greyson is a Captain in the Army who is leading a very complicated mission. Can they be together this time?
F.G. Adams has done a great job making you feel everything the characters feel. From the heartache of teenage love and loss to the stress of intense military situations.
This book does have quite a few time jumps both back and forward that are not always the smoothest transition. They can make the book a little difficult to follow at times and I found myself having to go back and re-read some of the time jumps to figure out what time I was in. Other than that, this book is wonderfully written, and I look forward to reading the next in the series.

Received a copy for an honest review

I really enjoyed this book. The story is told from dual points of view which I always like.

This is a second chance romance involving Ella and Grayson. They meet in high school and find love only to have it torn apart and meet again years later both having unfinished business with the other.

A lot of things to like about this book. You can't not love Grayson. He rose above a rough childhood to become a great man, the exact opposite of his tormentor, his father. He never gave up on his love, Ella, even when he thought she had given up on him. How can you not love that? Ella was likable to with her own childhood family troubles to work through.

I liked the supporting characters a lot and their comradery. Hope to learn more about their lives in the following books, especially Ella's best friend.

I always like a little bit of action in books and this one delivers not allowing you to put it down because you have to know what happens next.

This is the first book I've read that involved the military and would definitely be open to more in this genre in the future. She makes those military boys sound yummy.

The end felt a bit rushed and I wish we had more time with Ella and Grayson actually together as adults.

I generally read books with a little more sex in them but the amount in this book was perfect for the story. Anymore wouldn't have fit. But, what you get is very sexy.

Would recommend this book and look forward to more by this author.
