Erin Cochrane loves the gossip and the countless bizarre stories about her best friend Bex’ adventures with online dating. Not that she’d ever sign up for the site herself. Erin’s far too busy planning her dream wedding to her gorgeous fiancé, Tyson.
But when Tyson decides that he is not ready for marriage, Erin’s world is turned upside down. Forced to move back in with her eccentric mother, things couldn’t get any worse. Thrust back into the singles’ scene, could online dating be the escape Erin needs from it all? Or will it be just another disaster?
From stalkers to cheapskates, Erin feels as though she’s become a magnet for every loser around, until she opens one message that changes everything.
An intriguing novel about modern dating and unexpected encounters that will keep you entertained right up to the very last page.

This was such a fun book to read. Absolutely nothing but fiction, but fun and entertaining. The mother in here is a hoot, so is the girlfriend especially when she's talking about all the pictures she gets from the love interests on the dating site. I'm sitting here laughing about it as I'm typing the review.

If your interested in just kicking back and laughing and being entertained, this book will do it for you.

Thanks So Vain Books for approving my request and Net Galley for providing the free e-galley in exchange for an honest review.

We Just Clicked was a fun, light hearted and quick read; perfect for coming out of a reading slump. It was just what I needed it when I read it. Some of the things I really liked about this book were the good writing, the sligthly dark humor, the romance and the anecdotes of online dating. I enjoyed the interactions between the main characters, Erin and Joe, in particular the messages the exchanged through the dating site; I especially loved Joe, he's a really good love interest. Also, I found Delia, Erin's mother, to be such an interesting character, she was the only character that really stood out.

On the other hand, I thought the conflict in this was a bit silly and the ending wasn't that good. It had a predictable plot, there were a lot of cliches, and most of the characters were very typical. What I'm trying to say with all of this basically is that it wasn't anything unique or special.

Nonetheless, I would recommend this because everyone has times when they need a fluffy, entertaining, easy to read book, and We Just Clicked is exactly that.

Before starting this I was expecting We Just Clicked to be yet another book about online dating, with a helping of funny anecdotes about dates from hell. Although the story did start going in that direction there is so much more to it than that, especially after Erin gets a message from the dating site that really catches her eye.

Just reading that message, I would have been tempted to date the man in question, so was glad when Erin, against her misgivings met up and had a fabulous date. From there one, the story becomes a lot more romantic, with some lovely dates, and he's the sort of man, that doesn't even have a problem with Erin's somewhat eccentric mother.

Erin's mother Delia, is the life and soul of any party, she is larger than life, swaps hobbies more regularly than people change their socks. She may have a habit of embarrassing Erin regularly, and a different interpretation of borrowing to other people, but she clearly loves Erin, and just wants what is best for her.

We Just Clicked is incredibly entertaining, and had me hooked. I thankfully had some free time when I started it, as before long I was over half way and didn't even notice. It's probably more of a longer novella than full blown novel, but that doesn't detract from how easy it was to read, and what a great way to while away a few hours.

Thanks so much to Netgalley and So Vain Books for this review copy. This was my honest opinion.

Thanks Netgalley!!!!!!

This was just an amazing read. It was really really cute and I loved every minute of reading it. After a long spell of horrible books and let-downs, this book was a breath of fresh air. It's those kind of books that leave you all fluffy after you finish them and wishing you had a friend like the heroine. Erin was so adorable and realistic and Joe was a sweetheart. I loved Bex and Delia and all the others in it too. The best part of the book? You don't have anyone to hate upon!!!!!!! Really. There's no annoying characters that get on you nerves every chapter. There is one tiny antagonist but she's there for so little you hardly notice her. I would totally recommend it to people who just love those short super sweet romances.

What a fun February read. Veddy British, which always throws me a little with the slang and also the monetary denominations. But, it's okay, I did figure out snogging all by myself!

Erin Cochrane lets her friend, Bex, convince her to use an online dating service after Erin's fiancée, Tyson, breaks up with her. They'd already set a date and he came home from "working out" to find her trying on her wedding dress and decided he couldn't deal with commitment.

Moving on, Erin goes on a few really, really lame dates, one to Pizza Hut where the guy asks her to only order water and not a thick crust pizza because he's paying and thick crust is extra! And another date, although gorgeous, wants her to help him stalk his ex-girlfriend. Erin's at the point of closing down her online account when one more response comes in from a very nice sounding photographer named Joe who wants to meet her. He asks her out for dinner and a movie then later decides he doesn't want to do the movie cause even though they could cuddle, he'd rather spend more time talking to her (swoon!) He's gorgeous and famous and sweet and attentive and isn't put off by her crazy over-the-top mother, Delia, even taking mom to an awards show in lieu of Erin when she gets sick. You just know he's got to be too good to be true, right?

But, no, this is a HEA all the way with a little angst, lots and lots of humor and not too high of a heat level that I think even your mom or grandma would laugh and enjoy it! A very solid four-star fun February recommendation!

I was kindly given a copy through Netgalley, with many thanks to the publisher.

Erin and Joe just clicked. They found each other on a dating site and have fallen head over heels in love with each other. After a nasty break-up Erin decided to join the online dating world and after her share of 'kissing frogs' she stumbles across Joe and she's everything she could have dreamed of.

Now, women's fiction usually gives me butterflies and makes me all giddy. This story definitely put a smile on my face but it lacked a certain subtlety. The story was predictable and the characters lacked depth.
When Erin got a visit from the green monster called jealousy and assumed Joe was cheating on her, it bothered me a lot. It slightly too cliche to be true. And I don't mind cliches in the slightest. I'm a walking cliche myself but Erin's assumptions weren't based on any foundation. They didn't hold their ground aside from the fact that the story needed a dramatic intersection.
This story held a lot of possibilities but to me it fell a little flat.

This is a quick, fun read that has a few laugh out loud moments. Erin is an admin assistant who gets dumped by her fiance a few days before the wedding. Not only that sh now has to room up with her eccentric mom, Delia, who can be at the best times trying and at the worst extremely embarrassing. Desperate to get back on her feet, she decides to give online dating a try at the behest of her best friend. After a date that goes south, she is about to delete her dating account when she gets an intriguing and witty message from a guy named Joe. Will she click with Joe or will it be another dating disaster? The online dating scenes and scenarios are funny and will have you turning the pages quickly. But the best part of the book is Erin's over the top mom, Delia. In the resolution of the story, Delia plays a starring role. I only wish the romance bit was a bit better thought-through; particularly the end of the book conflict-and-resolution wasn't plausible. Overall though it was a fun read with some very funny moments. I'd read and loved Sophie Childs's debut novel, Behind the Scenes, so was really looking forward to this one.

Erin is happily preparing for her wedding whilst her best friend, Bex, is having a great time meeting men online. Erin's fiancé bottles it, though. Newly single and living with her mum again, Bex encourages Erin to get over her ex by setting up a dating profile too. It's too soon and her first date doesn't go as hoped so Erin decides to call it a day ... but a message from Joe comes through and Erin is intrigued enough to leave her profile online a little longer.

We Just Clicked is a sweet love story with a very likeable hero and a fabulously eccentric character in the form of Erin's mum. As well as exploring Erin's romance, it also explores her challenging relationship with her mum which reaches a poignant climax.

I love Sophie's writing style and eagerly await her next release. Gorgeous cover, by the way!

This won't be on any award lists, but it's enjoyable in a cliche-filled sort of way. The main character's life falls apart when her fiance leaves her and forces her out of their apartment, but it's all sorted out quickly. She finds a new guy, causes problems with the new guy, her quirky mother gets involved. Pick it up if you need something a little mindless and fluffy that comes with a happily ever after!

This book was cute, but it felt like it was just too "perfect". Everything just seemed far too easy. Then at the end it felt like Ms. Childs realized that so she tried to throw in a little drama/fight. But then it also felt like they didn't get a proper resolution, like they were just thrown together in the end for a quick happy ending.

This was a fun read. Erin finds herself in the online dating market unexpectedly and follows the trials and tribulations! You can sit down with a cuppa and know it’s going to entertain you. We join her in the modern dating world and laugh along with some of the situations. When she meets Joe is everything going to start looking up?!

We Just Clicked was a fun girly read. I found it quite appropriate that I finished reading this book on ‘Galentine’s Day’ [the day before Valentine’s Day]! Sophie Childs pens a fun light-hearted, heart-warming girly novel. Filled with themes of lessons learned in life and love, and supporting one another through tough times with humor and laughter, the story of Erin and her mystery man will have you laughing and hoping for a happily ever after.

I enjoyed the way the story was written, and the online dating escapades were hilarious! Although it may have been a little far-fetched that someone of his background would be on a public dating site, the story was very enjoyable and sweet. Great girly read!

Just your average chick-lit

This was a heavily clichéd novel, but there were parts which pleasantly surprised me. For one thing, Erin's boyfriend Tyson doesn't call off the wedding because he has cheated on her (commonly it would have been with Erin's best friend), rather he stops the wedding because he is unwilling to settle down. I understood that Erin was distraught by his refusal to marry her, and of course that was within good reason but it quickly became unbelievable. Surely, because she was willing to marry this man we can safely assume that she loved him. Why, then, did she not try to win him back? Why did she not dismiss his words as a nonsensical case of cold feet, and convince him as such?

Instead, she gave up and it was her friend, Bex, and her mother, Delia, who took action. I suppose, you could say that Erin became depressed and so was incapable of doing anything. But, we know for a fact that she started online dating. This just goes to suggest that she never loved Tyson, as much as she had believed, and that she relied too much on her friend and her mother. Her mother, for the most part, picked up the pieces. Even, when she had her own problems- breast cancer-she looked after her daughter. And, of course, Erin didn't appreciate it. Needless to say, I didn't fancy Erin, for all I cared she could have died of heartbreak.

So, now, I suppose you're wondering why I carried on reading the book...Believe me, it wasn't in hope of Erin's death, this is supposed to be a chick-lit after all. No, I read it because of the stories, both Bex and Erin have had their fair share of dates with losers, and as you can imagine, they were ridiculously stupid men. And, then of course Delia's delirious antics were enough to keep me entertained, from how she embarrasses her daughter to how she celebrated her breast cancer. Who would've thought? It was Delia and Bex who kept the tone light and kept me reading.

And since I can't avoid talking about Joe, Erin's new boyfriend, I'll cut it short: Joe was an arrogant fool, he didn't hide his wealth from the woman he meets online- extravagantly, he arranged their first date to be at a rich restaurant even though, he claimed to be seeking a down to earth woman, someone different from the shallow women he worked with. He was a living cliché, Childs doesn't write of his flaws- he is perfect, whilst Erin is just the pathetic woman who falls at his feet. Though, she has a hard time dating him - fitting into his celebrity lifestyle, which damages her self esteem and exposes her trust issues. I feel that Delia and Joe would have made a better couple.

I received this title through NetGalley.

NB: I would say this novel is suited at the 16-20 range. I can't imagine someone older enjoying it.

Since I had previously reviewed Sophie Childs' debut Behind the Scenes (it was the 5th book I reviewed on 125Pages) the publisher preapproved me for her new one, We Just Clicked. I am glad they did, as this was a cute and fast read that showed author growth. Erin had the perfect life, engaged to an amazing man, she looked down at her best friend Bex's online dating adventures. Then weeks before the wedding her fiancé calls it off. Unsure what to do, she signs up online to appease Bex and her mom. Online dating is rough and between dates who tell her she may only order water and who take her on a ride along to stalk his ex, Erin s lost. Then one message appears and Erin's life may change forever.

Sophie Childs created a very real world peppered with online dating moments we have all heard about. The pacing is brisk and the humor sharp. The plot was well conceived and packed a lot in a shorter book. The writing was good,  although my dreaded "a third party said something about my relationship and instead of checking with the one I love, I'm just gonna leave" reared its ugly head. The characters were well placed in the world and they were full of emotion, sometimes a touch to much.

I enjoyed Childs' sophomore effort. I could see that she has grown as an author and is adding more complexity to her writing. We Just Clicked is a cute quick read that satisfied my romance sweet tooth. I will keep an eye out for Sophie Childs next book, as I think they will just get better and better.

Favorite lines - Now the whole world was going to be subject to the force of nature that was my mum. If people thought that Kanye West interrupting Taylor Swift was bad, then they hadn’t seen anything yet.

Biggest cliché - Someone I don't know told me our relationship is over, so it must be true.

Have you read We Just Clicked, or added it to your TBR?

The best word I can use to describe this book is: Escapism. It was light, fun, had mostly likable characters, and the story was cute.

I was drawn to this book primarily because I met my husband on Yahoo Personals back in 2005 (before it was cool ;) ). Our story was similar to Joe and Erin's in that we were both hesitant about people we met online, though we hit it off ridiculously well and quicker than we thought we could. Many of the jokes and things surrounding online dating sites were pretty accurate (especially when it came to what it was like being a woman on one of them!).

The climax of this seemed a bit forced, however. It didn't really happen until you were 85% in! And it felt like an afterthought and, really, wasn't really necessary considering that it was a good book to escape to I feel that the my-fiance-cheated-on-me-and-so-now-I-am-insecure bit wasn't played up nearly enough at the beginning to be such a big deal (?) to the plot later. To be honest, I didn't really even feel like Erin loved her fiance that much or that it was really that awful what happened. There was no stress over her having to cancel her wedding, no real stress over the money she had lost (and I wanted to smack her for leaving her wedding dress behind!! I really hoped that her mom had grabbed it for her or something).

All in all, this was a very quick and easy read that had some good humor and fun characters. Seems like a great book to enjoy by the pool or at a coffee shop.

We Just Clicked was an enjoyable, fun, light read about Erin who turns to online dating after her fiancé leaves her close to their wedding day. It brings online dating into reality of the dating scene of what many individuals encounter when they meet people for the first time.

I would give this book 3.5 stars for a few reasons. The beginning was a bit slow and once Erin was dumped by her boyfriend she seemed to let go rather quickly. I thought there were some gaps in her relationships with others. First, Bex was a big part of Erin’s life but disappeared but then Erin’s mom, Delia takes on a bigger role. Second, we are dropped with the bomb of Erin’s mom’s illness (when it was clear something was going on) but there is no closure to this except that Delia is a strong woman with a great personality and that Erin proves to be there for her mom. Lastly, I just wanted more from the story…with where Joe and Erin wind up (do they travel like they say?), Delia’s mom (how was her surgery, is she cancer free?), with Bex and her relationship (was the one she found in the supermarket the keeper?).

I really did like the story line and that Erin finds her happily ever after with Joe. It also gives hope that there are good guys out there online looking to find their match.

The cover attracted me to this book & knowing a few people who have tried online dating & having read other books in the same category I thought it would be fun.

After Erin splits from her fiance her friend Bex decides it would be a good idea to get her into the online scene .. reluctantly Erin agrees & dips her toe in the water, it doesn't all go smoothly.

However when she gets a message from Joe things begin to look up but is he too good to be true. There are quite a few characters in here I liked, Erin was sweet, Bex a bit feisty, Delia (mum) is outrageous & I'm not sure how I felt about her but she certainly bought some life to the situation & Joe, well he seems delightful .. not giving any spoilers but he has rather an enviable job which includes plenty of travel.

This is fun with a few pull at the heart string moments, easy to read, fairly predictable but enjoyable. It kept me entertained & smiling when I finished it so that says quite a lot.

Many thanks to the author, publisher & Netgalley for the opportunity to read this in exchange for my honest opinion.

We Just Clicked by Sophie Childs

I loved the interaction between Erin and Bex, they instantly pulled me into the story. I definitely wanted to throw something at Tyson after the way he treated Erin. There are some funny moments in this book which made me smile, especially the username Fizzyfroth! I loved all of Erin's online dating disasters. At times I wanted to shake some sense into Erin, but I guess that means I got immersed in her character and story.

The story moved at a good pace and managed to keep my interest even though I found there was an occasional slow bit. However with great supporting characters it made up for any negative points. The plot was pretty straightforward so it was an easy read but it has some entertaining moments especially involving Delia!
I would recommend We Just Clicked especially if you are a fan of online dating disasters as the beginning of the book would be perfect for you.

3.5 stars from me!

Erin Cochrane is all settled in her life, and ready to settle in married life with Tyson, despite what everybody says. Of course her and Tyson are jumping quite quickly into this, but they love each other so much, so why not?
Or at least that's what she thought..

From one day to another, not only is Erin single, but she also has to move back with her mother. Of course she loves her to bits, it's just that her mum has always been very eccentric and attention grabbing, which is anything but Erin.

That's when she decides she's got to sort her life out. Find a flat, forget Tyson and move on. And her best friend Bex might just have the perfect solution for that. Why not getting back on the dating horse as soon as possible and challenge everything Erin despise by dating online - after all, you never know what could happen and who you could meet!

A truly funny and entertaining read I could not put down. The story was thoroughly enjoyable and I'm very much looking forward to reading any of Soohie Childs' other books!

The first thing i want to say about this book is, On turning the last page i said aloud awwww thats a lovely story. And i really felt it was. It was very fun, light hearted and im so glad i read it.
After being dumped by her Fiance, Tyson. Erin decides to get on the band wagon with her friend Bex and join up to online dating. After a couple of dead end dates, Erin meets Joe.
Now Joe is the perfect man. Everyone wants a Joe. Infact he was so perfect i was expecting something to go wrong or it would be revealed he wasnt the man we thought he was. No spoilers given!.
Erin's mum Delia is such a down to earth loving woman, who just wants the best for her only daughter. There was so much more to her charactor than Erin, Joe and Bex put together - I loved her.
I think the ending was slightly rushed as there are still some unanswered questions floating.
So will we be seeing Erin and Joe again soon?. Lets hope Sophie Childs pulls the next installment out of her hat.

I received a copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.

When Erin Cochrane's fiance walks in on her while she's trying on her wedding dress, the last thing she expects is for him to end their relationship. She is forced to move back in with her mother, who is well-meaning, if quite overbearing at times. Erin's friend Bex convinces her to give online dating a try, and she soon meets Joe, a celebrity photographer.

Of course there is a rather silly conflict, based on Erin's past experiences with her cheating ex-fiance, and the ending is a bit cheesy, but I didn't want to read We Just Clicked because I thought it was going to win the Pulitzer Prize for literature. Sometimes you just need to read the equivalent of a Lifetime or Hallmark movie.

While there wasn't anything remarkable about this title and the characters were on the stereotypical side, I still really enjoyed reading it.

We Just Clicked is about Erin Cochrane, who is happily engaged to Tyson. However, Tyson soon calls off the engagement claiming he's not ready to be married. She must move out within a few days of the breakup and is forced to move back in with her mom. With the help of her friend Bex, Erin creates a profile at an online dating website. It doesn't take long to find one message that catches her eye.

This book was an enjoyable, light read even if predictable to the woes of blind dating and online dating. Erin's mom, Delia, was one of the highlights of the story.

I received a free review copy of this thanks to So Vain Books. I requested it, because I liked the cover and the description sounded like I might like it.

Unfortunately, I had to DNF at 10%. I really tried to give it a chance, but that was as far as I could make it. From what I've read the story is very standard, but I don't mind clichés when they're well executed. Sadly, this was not. The first few chapters are mainly exposition and stilted dialogue, and the writing just doesn't flow at all. The characters felt like stereotypes rather than people and I just had zero inclination to spend more time on this book.

What a lovely book! And perfect title on every level!

This is the story of Erin and Joe, and Erin's mum, and Bex, Erin's friend. It had me laughing out loud at Delia's antics! The descriptions of the hazards of online dating were so well written. I tried it myself years ago and gave up. So many weirdos!

I loved the idea of Joe using online dating to meet 'real' women. I could see that it would work.

For me, the best bits were the sowing of seeds in Erin's mind and them blossoming - either into gorgeous fruit or poisonous weeds. It was always Erin's choice but she couldn't help herself.

All in all, a lovely, light-hearted read :)

I enjoyed this book as it had some funny moments. However it was very mills and boon style. It wasn't very long and had a fairy tale ending. Erin meets Tyson, four months later they get engaged. Six months later Tyson walks out, just before their wedding. Erin goes back home to her mum and has best friend Bex to comfort her. Bex does online dating so Erin tries it too. After a few disasters she meets Joe. He is gorgeous, amazing and irresistible. He also happens to be a millionaire photographer who takes pictures of celebrities thus living a celebrity lifestyle. Will they live happily ever after?

Read this book because the subject intrigued me. Having met my partner on an online dating site I know that it can work out with the right person but the freaks you meet on the way can give you some stories (and pictures) that can make an hilarious girly catch up.
This story pretty much captured that online struggle and mixed in some romance on the way.
It was a little bit too perfect, however, for my liking and I found myself eye rolling at a lot of what played out and a few lines of the dialogue - It could have been a bit more original.
Overall, however, if you have a free rainy afternoon I recommend a sit down with this book to give you a few smiles and giggles.

This is a great book by Sophie Childs. Erin Cochrane loves to gossip and listen to her best friend Bex’s online dating adventures. Erin has been busy planning her dream wedding to her fiancé, Tyson. When Tyson decides he is not ready for marriage, her world is turned upside down. She is forced to move back in with her eccentric mother. After many failed dates Erin, decides to give online dating a try. If you are looking for a fun book, then you need to read this book. I am looking forward to reading the next book by this author.

I received an advanced copy of this book from netgalley in exchange for a honest review. I really enjoyed this book and actually heard myself laughing out loud a few times. It was such an entertaining fast-paced read that I couldn't read it fast enough. This story is about Erin who is dumped suddenly by her fiancé. Her best friend Bex convinces her to join a dating website to get her mind off of her heartbreak. The few guys she meets end up being far from ideal until she meets Joe who seems too good to be true. I'd definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a fun summer time read. I enjoyed the characters particularly Erin's mother Delia who was just quirky and fun.

I won this book in a competition run by the author, and full disclosure, I already knew Sophie as a friend, before reading the book. Saying that, I'm more likely to be hard on authors whom I know personally! And I really enjoyed it. It is a light read, with very likable characters and an interesting and well-paced plot. Romance isn't usually my genre, but this focused more on the humour and the blossoming relationship rather than any detailed sex scenes, which I thought was a good move.

I'd definitely recommend We Just Clicked. It's uncomplicated but does have a deeper theme of focusing on what's important to us all: our relationships with those we love.
