** Two cougars. One arranged marriage. Tattoos, curves, and hate-sex. What could possibly go wrong? **
Cougars play rough. I’m no exception. But when it comes to Livvy Parker, the claws really come out.
Something about her just gets under my fur. I don’t know what it is - the lush curves, the snarky insults, the holier-than-thou attitude…my life would be a lot easier if I could just go back to my clan and forget she exists.
But no. Hell no. Life can never be that easy. The only way to keep the peace, to honor a centuries-old pact between our families…is to make her my wife.
One thing’s for sure - neither one of us is gonna come out unscathed.
Lillian Danté loves to tell stories about wild, sexy creatures who go bump in the night…among other things. As Melanie Marchande, she writes USA Today bestselling contemporary romance.
I received this story in exchange for an honest review. This is the first story I’ve read by any of this author’s pseudonyms and if they all read like this one, I’d read them all! This is the story of two cougar shifters who are about to embark on an arranged marriage just to keep the peace between their clans. They’ve never really had any real contact and when it gets close to the date, Nolan, a motorcycle riding, tattoeed, bad boyish figure is driving towards a future that he’s dreading for the most part. So, when he gets a message from Livvy, his soon-to-be-wife telling him to meet her friend, the last thing he expects is to find himself sexually aroused by a woman in heat that he’s met up with. We learn that she is Livvy after an attack, but there is no shortage of attitudes, sparks, sexual tension, and fight in either one of them. This story moves quickly and I think that this story does a good job of explaining things so that you don’t get lost within the story. I think that I shall have to check out the original writer that this shifter series belongs to.
When I started this book I felt like I had started a story in the middle. Despite that, I liked this short story. I liked Livvy and Nolan. I have to admit, Livvy annoyed me a little. I wanted her to give Nolan a chance and stop running from him. Other than Livvy irritating me a little, I liked this short story.
4 Stars ☆☆☆☆ Title: Bite Me Series: Douglas Mountain Shifters Novella A Southern Shifters Author: Melanie Marchande Writing as Lillian Dante Reviewer: (Ingrid) Stephanie Jordan #Paranormal #CougarShifter. #WolfShifters ☆☆■□¤▪☆■□¤▪☆■□¤▪☆■□¤▪☆■¤▪☆☆ This is my fourth book from A Southern Shifter, but my first book from Lillian Dante to say the least it was different from other paranormals I have read. Believe it or not their are still arranged marriages, here in the United States and Europe well it could be for Merging Companies or Blue Blood etc. Nolan is a Cougar Shifter and basically a loner. Raised by humans Nolan didn't feel comfortable being with a Clan. He lived on Douglas Mountain alone. Three Days with the hog between his thigh, Nolan was tired and he still couldn't believe that this kind thing happened a hundred years ago, his and Livvy's great-grandparents signed a contract in blood saying we were gonna be mated and if they didn't the treaty would be broken, with there Clan's going to War. Neither one of them wanted this, but had no choice in the matter no one wanted war. I was gifted this ARC for an honest and truthful review.
This is the first story I’ve read by Melanie Marchande under her Lillian Dante pen name. Like the Melanie stories I’ve come to love this one is written in her distinctive, snarky, witty prose. I’m not familiar with the Southern Shifters world but that didn’t matter – I still liked this story a lot and didn’t need to know anything about the Southern Shifters.
Livvy and Nolan’s marriage was arranged years ago. It’s time for their wedding but they’ve still never met. There are some hot encounters between the two and a confrontation with some nasty wolves. While it would have been nice to have more details about Livvy and Nolan, I realize that this is a short story and just enjoyed it for what it was: a hot little quickie by one of my favorite authors.
I received an ARC of this book from the author in exchange for my honest review.
Nolan is a loner , he lives on Douglas Mountain alone. Nolan still couldn't believe that arranged marriages happened but he is traveling to meet his bride Livvy it was centuries ago that two shifters mated and one of the clans hated this,so to stop a war from happening they arranged for their great many times over children to marry . Which happened to be Nolan and Livvy! They have been raised by humans for different reasons, neither is happy about what is happening but are willing to go through with the marriage for the sake of peace. What happens when two cougars who do not want to be married and really do not like each are forced to do so? I received an ARC of 'Bite Me' from the author, in exchange for an honest review.
'Bite Me' was my first Lillian Danté book, so I went in not knowing what to expect. I loved the story in this book, yes it was short, but it was packed to the brim! A peace treaty between 2 clans decades ago, results in a pre-destined marriage for 2 were-cougars. Nolan is counting down the days before his marriage to a shifter he's never met, upon reaching his last pit-stop his bride to be sends him to a bar in no-man's land, where he meets a she- cougar full of curves. Full of questions the she- cougar is testing Nolan.
I want to learn more about the clan Nolan comes from, you have me intrigued.

I really loved this story, and was pulled in from the beginning. The chemistry and tension between Livvy and Nolan is fantastic, and both are really interesting, fun characters that I liked from the beginning. I really enjoyed seeing how these two came together, and worked through their unique situation to finally reach their HEA. Livvy and Nolan were definitely meant to be together, and were perfect mates for each other. I'm looking forward to reading more by this author, and I hope we get to see more from Livvy and Nolan in the future.
What are a pair of shifters to do when their marriage was arranged many generations ago? Livvy and Nolan know they must go through it. Even if they have never met, haven’t talked, don’t know anything about each other, OH and have basically been in denial. I thought that Livvy’s introduction of Delilah to Nolan and using her as a barrier was a good way to get to know him. Nolan’s inner monologue reinforced that he wasn’t used to sharing conversation and information. He didn’t even talk to his cougar. Bite Me was a fun change on all of the usual shifter finding their mates stories.
It's a quick read, but it packs a punch! Yummy! Two shifters raised as humans, brought into the life after their shifts. Nolan and Livvy are part of a peace treaty between their clans. They've never even met, but were promised to each other generations ago. This doesn't really sit well with either one of them, but that's the way things go. Making the best of it seems to be their only option... until they actually meet, face to face, and sizzling sparks fly!
Nolan is in an arranged marriage to Livvy Parker that was done years ago by the 2 warring clans to keep the peace. I loved the characters and the story line in this book.
