Eisner Award-winning artist Dave Dorman has worked on licensed properties from Alien to Magic: The Gathering, but he is best known for his work on Star Wars. This excellent book contains wonderfully reproduced, high-resolution photos of Dorman's Star Wars work up until the mid-1990s. What's particularly fascinating is watching one artist's progress from producing fan art to becoming an officially licensed Lucasfilm artist.
Having interviewed Dorman in the past, I know that he lost a lot of his Star Wars connections when Disney bought out Lucasfilm. I hope that the new owners of the Star Wars property come to recognize the immense talent in Dorman's work and welcome him to continue producing pieces based on his favorite subject.
