Ok, I'm saying that I would give this book 3.5 stars. I marked it as 4 because there is no 3.5 and I didn't want to mark it as a 3 because it was really great. I just had a small issue with it.

This is Book 3 in the Mark of the Vampire series by Laura Wright. This one focuses on Lucian Roman, the youngest of the Roman brothers. He is going to be the "Breeding Male". A Breeding Male is like a mindless, humping vampire in heat 24/7 from the time he goes into the change until the time he dies. Most of them have to be caged for most of their lives because they will have sex with any female in his path, willing or not.

Bronwyn is a pureblood female vampire who thought that Alexander, the oldest Roman brother was her True Mate. He wasn't but in the process of finding that out and staying at the Romans' compund, she met Lucian, who always delighted in tormenting and teasing her. Bronwyn lives in a "credenti" which is a vampire word for "community". But these vampire communities are like Amish communities: few modern conveniences and women are very modest, etc. So Lucien see Bronwyn, embracing her credenti lifestyle and looks down on her. But because she's so beautiful and kind and smart, he can't just ignore her! Typical man!! LOL!

Bronwyn finds herself uncomfortably attracted to Lucien. She can only drink certain blood (I can't remember who's or why) and when Lucien sees her one night, she's half starved and OF COURSE he secretly digs her (MEN!!!!) so he feeds her and she's all better. But she hasn't been able to stop thinking about him. She doesn't know this but by feeding her, Lucien has kick started the change to Breeding Male in himself. He did it for her. He would do anything for her. She knows she can't have him once she finds out what's going on so she convinces her friend (a male) to pretend to be her True Mate so that her parents don't force her into something like they did her sister. That "something" ended up killing her sister and Bronwyn refuses to suffer through the same ordeal.

But on the night of Bronwyn's True Mate ceremony, she's kidnapped. And Lucien must race against time and fate to rescue the woman he loves.

Gah! So romantic!! And trust me, it is. Lucien is hilarious. He's such a smartass! And he teases Bronwyn constantly. Some of it is a little mean, some of it is cute. But she totally brushes it off and usually gives some back to him!! I think they are this great couple and I loved their story. My issue was *****SPOILER ALERT******* after she was kidnapped and Lucien finds her and goes to her, they are trapped in this altered reality (don't ask why, just go with it) until they have sex. They finally have sex but shortly after that, he gets her free and then later on, he is freed as well. And then the whole b o o k s l o w s d o w n. . . .
They're being hidden in the credenti when Lucien was born and its protected by magic and super hidden but Lucien is about to change into the Humping Monster so he's chained up but Bronwyn won't leave him so they're there together sort of eye fucking each other for what seems like DAYS!!!! And there's probably 2 or 3 other stories going on (and you KNOW how I hate that) and Lucienand Bronwyn keep talking about how they can never be together but they love each other and it just seems so damn monotonous. And this is only about 75% of the way into the book! Yeah! It goes on and on and on and on. I just think the author slowed down the pace when it didn't need it. Maybe she should have cut some other story lines, I don't know. But it was a struggle to finish it. And when I did, I was relieved that it was over.

Having said that, I would still recommend this book. It was a great read and it was VERY exciting. Lots and lots of action: kidnappings, rescue, fights, lost loves found, fights, romance, fights. Did I mention fights??! LOL!

Carla's Review:

Eternal Captive is the third book in Laura Wright's MARK OF THE VAMPIRE series and the story of Lucian Roman, the youngest of the three Roman brothers. SO much happens in this book that I can't give much detail without giving away spoilers, so I'm just going to give brief details about some events that happened and the characters.

Throughout the first two books Lucian is a crude, smart mouthed, sarcastic wise-ass that takes no crap from anyone, including his brothers. Luca does what he pleases and that has not changed at all. He is also very different from his other two brothers. Luca is intended to be the next Breeding Male when he goes into morpho. Once he becomes the Breeding male, he will become a crazed animal that only cares about feeding and mating and will have to be caged for the rest of his existence. Lucian swears that he will die first, before he becomes this monster. Lucian has also become obsessed with Bronwyn Kettler since she fed from him. Although Bronwyn claims she has found her true mate, Lucian will not believe it until he sees her for himself. But Bronwyn is kidnapped before Lucian gets to see her and now he will do anything to find her and save her…..even from himself.

Bronwyn Kettler is a vampire genealogist who has done many studies on the previous Breeding Males. After an experience her sister had with a Breeding Male, Bronwyn is terrified of ever being near this creature and determined to never cross paths with him. What will she do when she finds out Lucian, the man who came to save her, is the very creature that she's terrified of?

We finally get to meet Nicky's twin, Erion, who we learned about in Eternal Kiss, and boy is he very different from his twin and the other Roman brothers. I can't tell you anymore about him without giving away the story, so you will have to read the book to find out more about him. :-P

We also get to meet Synjon Wise, who is the intended mate of Bronwyn Kettler. I thought I would hate Synjon because he was Luca's competition but I ended up totally loving him. I am really looking forward to Synjon's book, but based on the events that unfolded in Eternal Captive, I don't think that's going to be for a while. All I have to say is, poor Synjon!!!

We get to see much more of Gray and Dillon. There is also a HUGE surprise/cliff hanger at the end of the book concerning Gray and Dillon. Holy Crap!! I NEVER saw that one coming!!

We meet Lucian's mother, Maidan, and learn the true story of the time she spent with Titus Evictus, the Breeding Male and the father of the three Roman brothers . We also learn the real reason Lucian has so much hatred for his mother.

Eternal Captive is my favorite book in the series (so far ). We get to see a side of Lucian that I would have never expected. He was so gentle, loving and even romantic with Bronwyn that many scenes brought tears to my eyes. Bronwyn may be innocent in some ways but she is in no way naïve or week. She does not put up with Lucian's crass attitude and puts him in his place, over and over again. I loved her strong attitude and the fact that she just understands Lucian.

It's no secret that I am a HUGE fan girl of Laura Wright's MOTV series. It's been one of my favorite series, since I read Eternal Hunger. I was SO very honored and excited to get the first ARC of Eternal Captive and I stopped everything to read it and finished it in a day. After reading Eternal Captive, it's now my favorite series. Laura is a brilliant writer that created a new and original world of vampires, addicting characters that stay with you long after the book has ended and storylines that leave you flabbergasted. Every book leaves you clamoring and counting down the days until the next release. If you have not read the MOTV series yet, I definitely recommend that you do. The series does not have to be read in order, every book can stand alone. If you don't start from the beginning you will definitely want to go back and find out what you missed because you won't want to miss any part of this amazing series.

I give Eternal Captive 5 stars (and if I could give it more I would!!)

This was a good book, but the butt play ruined it for me. I find it a huge turnoff and it's completely unsexy to me. I really wish books had a warning system for that. Also the use of the c-word for female genitalia really gets to me. Those things brought my rating down. Reviewed for Bitten by Books: http://bittenbybooks.com.

Eternal Captive, Mark of the Vampire Book #3
Author: Laura Wright

Synopsis: Since feeding her his blood, Lucian Roman has struggled with his obsession with Bronwyn Kettler-fighting an uncontrollable desire to kill her, if he has to, and the vampire she has sworn to wed. But when a dangerous enemy threatens Bronwyn, only Lucian can save her life. Even if it means sacrificing his own...

Our Review [by Michelle L. Olson – LITERAL ADDICTION’s Pack Alpha]:
From the moment I picked up Eternal Hunger, Mark of the Vampire became one of my favorite paranormal romance series. Laura writes with such passion, such intensity, it’s hard not to be drawn in immediately.
After reading Eternal Kiss I knew that this series was destined not only to be great, but really and truly special and I couldn’t wait for Eternal Blood and Eternal Captive.
After devouring Eternal Blood, I was lucky enough to receive an Advance Reading Copy of Eternal Captive, book #3 of the series, from Laura and put aside all other reading to dig in...
In a word, Eternal Captive was incredible! I’m not sure there are enough positive adjectives in the English language to describe everything this book has to offer, but let me try a few:

• It was completely riveting and captivating. From the first page Laura hooks you as a reader, especially if you’ve invested in the 2 ½ installments prior to EC, and it doesn’t let go… ever, because after the last page, you STILL want more.
• It was thoroughly sensual. All Laura Wright fans know that Laura packs the heat, but this book was downright scorching. Take Laura’s sexy, sultry narrative coupled with Luca’s smart-ass nature and you have one hell of a combo.
• It was insanely action-packed and thrilling. The series plotline of Mark of the Vampire has been exhilarating the entire way with the Romans fight against the Order, their internal struggles with themselves and within their small family, etc, but this installment was so intense I literally felt myself holding my breath at times.
• It was all together intriguing and intense. The twists and turns, the secrets revealed, the continual flow of story and evolution of character… all made for one heck of a ride.

This book gave so much to me as a reader it’s really hard to write a proper review for it because a) I feel like I’m not doing it justice, and b) I can’t tell you anything without spoiling it, so let me just say that this book was everything I wanted and more, and recommend it and its 2 ½ predecessors to EVERYONE..

LITERAL ADDICTION gives Eternal Captive 5 Skulls and suggests that everyone go and pick up this book the instant it is released! If you haven’t already taken the time to read Eternal Hunger, Eternal Kiss, and Eternal Blood you have a little time before Eternal Captive hits your mailbox or eReader. I promise you won’t be disappointed.

Laura Wright continues her captivating paranormal romance series, Mark of the Vampire, with another sexy and thrilling addition in Eternal Captive!

Lucian Roman cannot escape his heritage, the heritage passed down from his father, of the Breeding Male. When the veana who fed from him, and somehow remained in his blood, finds her true mate his control is taken to its limit. Lucian is split; kill her, get her out of his system and spend the rest of his undead life in Mondrar, the vampire prison – or take her in every way and succumb to the monster inside of him. Maybe though, after her mating ceremony, the need for her will abate. A paven can hope…
Bronwyn Kettler has spent years studying the Breeding Male, hoping to escape the same fate as her sister but one weak moment has forever changed her. Now, even as she goes to her mating ceremony she can’t get the paven, Lucian, out of her head. But someone has other plans for her…
Kidnapped by the Beast, Lucian and Bronwyn are sent to the evil Cruen’s alternate reality, and the only way out is to give in to their greatest fears...

Holy smokes, I could not put this book down! Eternal Captive grabbed me right from the start and never let go. The story moves at fast pace, the conflict is intense and the characterization is ensnaring.

Lucian in the youngest of the Roman brothers and also the bad boy of the trio; arrogant, sometimes rude and sexy as hell with a penchant for talking dirty. *rawr* He has been fighting his attraction for Bronwyn since the first book, Eternal Hunger. But when he finally gives in to his desires the pages burn! *fans self* If you thought Laura Wright wove sexy tales before, well you ain’t seen nothing yet! Wright gives both Lucian and Bronwyn depth and dimension like we’ve never seen before. The ambiance in Luca and Bron’s relationship kept me on the edge of my seat hoping for something good to come out of it all. This loud paven and proper veana compliment each other perfectly.
Emotional and intense don’t even begin to describe the plot found within these pages, the story arc explodes and the side story’s of Dillon and Gray, the Beasts and Syn will both break your heart and have you begging for more. The Mark of the Vampire has become a truly addictive series. Action, suspense, twists, turns, romance, sizzling sex, snark and humor are all weaved together with Laura Wright’s entertaining voice and ingenuity makes for a must read in the paranormal romance world. My only minor complaint would be that I was hoping we’d get more into Lucian’s head, towards the end it was more focused on Bronwyn's POV, which was still fantastic and meshed well with the over-all tale but I would of loved to have more of Luca himself.

The way the little bits and pieces have come together I would suggest you read Eternal Captive in series reading order and really, why wouldn’t you? The Mark of the Vampire is a must-read series for paranormal romance fans that are looking for a unique and sexy vampire read with hot and intriguing alpha males. I said this with the second book, but it is rare for me to find a series that feature a different couple for each novel and I end up loving each and every one. Usually I can’t get into one or more of the heroines, but this series is impeccable every time! I’m keeping my fingers crossed for Eternal Beast and am looking forward to its release at the end of the summer (August 2012).

Eternal Captive is the third book in Laura Wright's Mark of the Vampire series and was made of awesome. Lucian is by far my favorite of the Roman brothers and I couldn't wait to devour his story. His snarky, I don't give a frak attitude just totally does it for me. Him being an incredibly sexy and funny vampire certainly doesn't hurt. *sinister grin*

Knowing that Lucian would turn into the Breeding Male, I was concerned how he would ultimately end up with his mate. Breeding Male's aren't supposed to have true mates so how was Laura going to work around that without it feeling like a copout? I really shouldn't have been concerned; it was written brilliantly. Eternal Captive was everything I wanted it to be and more. It was funny, super smexy and heartbreaking all at the same time. Once I was able to sit down and devote some time to the book I couldn't put it down. I got very little sleep but I didn't mind; Luca's definitely worth it. Though I didn't like her when she was first introduced, Bronwyn grew on me and I really liked her. She is the perfect fit for Lucian.

I hate Cruen but he is the perfect villain. He is a devious, power hungry bastard. Seems he won't be satisfied until he's taken over the world. Crazy frakker. I really like the direction the series is heading and the addition of the mutore. Well hello, Helo!! Big, skull-shaved, shape shifting vampire that's covered in tattoos? *swoons* I'm sooo very thrilled that Laura plans to do a book for him.

Eternal Captive set up Dillion and Grey's story, Eternal Beast, and after the surprising ending I can't wait for it. I really like Dillion and love Grey's angry impure ass. You put the two of them together and sparks fly. The chemistry between the two of them is off the charts.

Three books and a novella into the Mark of the Vampire series and I'm still incredibly impressed with the world building, character development and subplots that Laura has thrown into the mix. This series has been 5 star ratings across the board for me and that is rare. The only other vampire series I've felt this strongly about are JR Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood and Jeaniene Frost's Night Huntress. That being said, if you are a fan of super smexy PNR and/or vampires, I highly recommend this series and suggest that you run (not walk) to the nearest bookstore and pick up Eternal Hunger, the first book in the series. You will not be disappointed.

Lucian, the rebel. Lucian, the don't-have-a-care badass. Lucian, the next in line Breeding Male. He carries the gene that will likely turn him into the Breeding Male, a mindless creature that will only know and want to mate with any female and impregnate them. This guarantees he will never have a mate like his brothers. And also, the transformation shouldn't be happening yet. He should've had another century to prepare.

But Bronwyn drank from him and activated this process and now his body is slowly going through changes, feeling urges. Feeling a connection to Bronwyn. Feeling a deep want. But he can't allow himself to have her. That would seal his fate.

So when he hears that she is to be mated to another, that she bears another males' mark, he should be happy. Except he's not. And he's not at all happy when she is kidnapped by one of the Beasts and kept captive by Cruen. Only Lucian can rescue her. And by doing that he'll be sealing both their fates.

Lucian and Bronwyn worked well as a couple. Lucian is over the top, loud and arrogant. He is also one hell of a dirty talker ;) This might've been extremely helpful to virginal and unsure Bronwyn. And slowly she lost her inhibitions too. There wasn't a lot of fighting the attraction coming from this veana. And she should've had every right to fight it being that she was now facing the Breeding Male, the one creature that had ruined her sister's life and that she swore she would do anything to avoid.

Action and romance packed, with plenty of snark and some hilarious one liners. This book kept me entertained and dying to see how things could get fixed. Even though the solution at the end was pretty simple!

And speaking of the end... there's a twist at the end I wasn't expecting. This will lead into the next book and it will be most interesting. We also get to know the Beasts a little bit better. Who are they? Are they truly controlled by Cruen? And what is the Orders role in all this? We'll have to wait and see.

3.5 stars. A solid entry in the Mark of the Vampire series hampered slightly by the female character who readers have known since book 1. In this volume Lucien begins his sad descent into madness as he evolves into the 'Breeding Male'. He fights this every step of the way, aided by Bronwyn Kettler, who has been deeply attracted to Lucien ever since she tasted his blood.

Unfortunately I haven't liked Bronwyn's character much since she first appeared in book 1. In this story I found her vacillating and inconsistency annoying at times. She is a little like a Mary Sue, blundering from one bad decision to another and putting everyone around her at risk.

The continuation of the overall arc of the story is excellent, very suspenseful and surprising. New Roman brothers have been introduced and they are mutore (a beast/vampire mix) which should shake things up. There is a huge reveal in the last pages which I never saw coming and I'm greatly looking forward to Gray and Dillon's story which comes out in August.

Mark of Vampire is good series, the overall story gets better with each book, which is why it’s a 4 star rating for me. With that said, I did have issues with the content of the story. I felt there was an overuse of the words from the glossary, particularly the words veana and paven. It became a bit distracting, taking away from the story. I’m also not a fan of the C word, but I knew going into this it would be used, I just didn’t expect it to be used so much :P. It is a good story, those were my issues, overall I think PNR fans will enjoy it.

Loved this book. The third installment in this series
was almost as good as the second.Absolutely love Lucian and Bronwyn. What a great couple. I did wish that there was more of the other brothers and their mates in this book, especially Nicholas and Kate. Plan on reading their story again soon. Can't wait for the next book to be released in August!!!

4.5 stars. The best in the series yet. I loved Lucian and Bronwyn together and I think the world Laura Wright has created is original and interesting. I haven't read the novellas and I could see I was missing some things between Grey and Dillon so I need to read those before continuing with the series.

I feel like Laura Wright was reading my mind when she wrote this book.

My questions about this series were answered in this book.

Could one of the vampires fall in love or have a connection to someone who doesn't wear their mark?
The answer to that would be a resounding yes. Lucian is the breeding male and thus could not have a true mate, but his connection to Bronwyn is stronger and felt more real than the ones his brothers share with their mates.

Is there a way for a breeding male not to go into a breeding frenzy?
Yes, but you will have to read the book to see how that came to be.

Did all the brothers come from a union with their breeding male father, and a mother that didn't want them or had a horrible childhood with no love?
No, and again you'll have to read to find out the particulars.

I wasn't sure if I was going to like Lucian's story, and I was a bit mad at Bronwyn after the end of the previous book, but I'm glad that I decided to keep reading the series. This book gave the series as a whole a much boost.

So many things came to light in this story, that drew me completely back in and made me want more.

I didn't care as much for Lucian and Bronwyn. They weren't bad characters they just had baggage that seemed minor compared to what they needed to overcome in the story. This was the third story with Cruen and the vampire council as the villains. I'm getting bored by the same intrigue and wish the stories would be a bit more suspenseful. I've stuck with the series because Tavia Glibert is an excellent narrator and truly does bring the characters to life.

Lucian never makes things easy. I learned this about him the very first time I heard him speak in Eternal Hunger. He's cocky, stubborn and incredibly rude... But he's also smart, brave and loyal to his brothers. He takes a while to grow on you if you're not used to crude statements and what I call "smart-assery" but since I am and I love sarcasm, I took to Lucian right away. It took a bit to get around to reading his story, and the wait made the anticipation and expectations grow and grow. When I was finally able to begin Eternal Captive I was nervous. I began to wonder if I had built this idea in my head about the white haired, albino vampire that author Laura Wright wouldn't be able to meet.

I'm such a silly bean! Laura Wright not only met the expectations I had but surpassed them as well. It's going to be hard to top Lucian because he's been added to my list of absolute favorite alpha males ever.

Definitely a character you won't soon forget, Lucian is a tormented, ruthless, smart ass with a tender heart who is fighting his deepest fears: That his destiny is to become the mindless beast his sire was. The Breeding Male who's only instinct will be to breed with any and all females who come across him, willing or not. He can be borderline unlikeable to some people but to this reader, his prickly, asshole demeanor was what made him more interesting as a character and more deserving of a happy ending than others.

Eternal Captive also introduces readers to some new characters, Syn for example. Have I mentioned that not only am I a vampire lover but a British man makes me swoon? Yeah, it's a double whammy.

Then there are the mutore, who up until now, have just been described as abominations who are not worthy of life. Eternal Captive not only revealed more about the mutore but gave them names, histories and began to create sympathy for these misunderstood creatures. I can't wait to learn more about them.

With this book I've begun noticing a pattern with the entire series, and correct me if I'm wrong but each book is sexier and more erotic than the last and if Laura Wright keeps this up, I'm going to spontaneously combust. There's only so much a girl can take you know. Eternal Captive should have come with a warning label that read: "May cause spontaneous combustion or incoherent babbling. Author is not responsible for ice or fan shortages in your city."

That said, if you've been reading my reviews on this series but haven't gotten around to reading it, what the heck are you waiting for? A personal invitation?! Get these books ASAP and enjoy! I know I am :)

In Eternal Hunger, proper credenti female Bronwyn Kettler mistakenly thought Alexander Roman was her mate. But as she needed feeding and youngest Roman brother, Lucian, fed her. Since then and despite his efforts he's desired only Bronwyn and was unaware she craved him as well. But Luca's destiny is to become the reigning breeding male and he's powerless to stop it.

At Bronwyn's age, her parents are willing to go to the Order and offer her as a sacrifice to the breeding male if her true mate doesn't appear. Bronwyn has no desire to become a brood mare for the race and asks her childhood friend Synjon Wise to pose as her true mate to avoid that fate. Aware her choice means she'll be forever frustrated, Bronwyn thinks it's preferable to choosing Luca.

With Bronwyn's blood burning within him, Luca's choices are to claim her and hasten his destiny to populate the pureblood vampire race or kill her and go to prison for eternity. Since losing his centuries old lover, Synjon has dedicated his waking moments to his secret work for the Order but he's more than happy to help Bronwyn and maybe in time they will treat each other as mates.

Contrary to her supposed intellect, Bronwyn's flimsy plan wasn't devised very well. For my taste it helped present the tiresome heroine as unbalanced and her intelligence suspect. Luca's character didn't change and new character Synjon brought his own mystery and to tease out his intrigue. Peeks at Cruen, Dillon, the Impures and dear old dad's hidden agendas and secret plans kept them involved.

Peppered with the brother's history, the breeding male, the Order, Cruen and the Mutore along with updates on the regular characters, the outing wasn't too busy to lose sight of Luca's turn in the spotlight. This recommendable series should be read in order as it doesn't skimp on suspense, action or romance as it expands and clarifies its world and the characters while each outing improves.

I have not read the other books in this series. I actually started the first book, Eternal Hunger twice, but for some crazy reason never ended up finishing it (which I admit is ridiculous, because it was an enjoyable read. That’s neither here nor there however), and as such, I’m woefully behind on the mythology and main story arc of the series. I did end up feeling as though I’d arrived late to the party, and that there were several facts and situations that I was supposed to be familiar with before starting this one.

While I wanted to roll my eyes at the “island” scene in its entirety, and I was more annoyed than frightened by the Big Bad, I admit that I did enjoy this one. The chemistry between Bronwyn and Lucian was crackling, and while I don’t particularly care for crude sexual language in romance, even with the c-word being thrown around willy-nilly, I couldn’t deny the heat in the love scenes.

Recommended for fans of steamy paranormal romance, fated mates, and truly starcrossed lovers.

4/5 Stars.

**Goodreads description of Eternal Captive:Lucian Roman knows he must stay away from Bronwyn Kettler for sanity's sake. Since feeding her his blood, he can think of nothing else but possessing her—fighting an uncontrollable desire to kill her, if he has to, and the vampire she has sworn to wed.
Bronwyn, a brilliant vampire genealogist, can never escape her connection to Lucian. He sustained her when she was starving. He still rules her dreams. And when the nights get dark enough, she still craves him. Though is essence courses through her body, she has found a true mate in someone else.
But when a dangerous enemy threatens Bronwyn, only Lucian—bound to her forever by blood—can save her life. Even if it means sacrificing his own.

LOVED IT!
Wow! Laura Wright blew me away with Lucian's story and I have to say this book is my series favorite. Lucian is a tough and crass loner, while Bronwyn, the practical and realistic scientist trying to prevent family history from repeating itself is put to the test to try to save him. I found Eternal Captive to be an eye brow raising, exciting and edgy read well befitting Lucian Roman and his mate. It kept me on the edge of my seat and I couldn't put it down. While Eternal Captive can be read alone, I feel the background on characters I received from the first two books, helped to create an amazing and exciting reading experience with Eternal Captive. I can't wait to see where Ms. Wright takes this series from here.

So 21% in Luca's story and wow, just wow! I've been anticipating this book since Eternal Kiss.

Lucian is everything I like in a male: sarcastic, snarky and straight up-asshole!! For those starting in on Laura's Mark of the Vampire, I really recommend they start from book one.

Luca's personality is outlined from the getgo, when we were first introduced to him. Bronwyn too is introduced in the first book - where we get insight on her personality and person. The tension between the two start there and continue somewhat in book two and leads us to their story.

We are introduced to some new players...which really have me chomping the bit in excitement.

Favored line so far: If the princess won't come to the asshole, then the asshole will have to come to the princess.

81% in - Really do not want to put this book down. Seriously. I stayed up till 3 am reading, needing to read that next page, that next chapter.

Some cool new players are introduced and put into play. I was happy when Laura mentioned one would get a book. I really hope the other interesting male gets a book too unless his is a side romance.

WARNING: near the end is several sniffle scenes. One scene nearly broke my heart! Though, that was quite a twist about an existing character that we already knew and love!

This book absolutely does NOT disappoint! Already anticipating the next book!

I liked this book much better than I did the second in the series, however, I was so annoyed by how utterly useless was "the Order", and all the vampires' supposed powers that I couldn't fully enjoy the book.

I mean, state of the art security, such as needing to bleed on the gate to gain entrance... oh please, how easily faked is that! And all this 'flashing' here, and flashing their. Found that pretty fucking stupid too.

I also found the heroine a little frustratingly dense as well.

I don't know, I really like the writing style, I like the characters, and I like the basic plot, but I just don't like these books. They're all bark, and no bite. They talk about how powerful and hard to kill these guys are, and yet the simple act of being beaten to a pulp can kill them, bleeding out kills them. So, how are these guys so hard to kill? Even a bullet to the head supposedly killed the breeding female. That's not so impressive!

I think I will stop reading this series as I find them more disappointing than amusing.

Oh, and if I had to read ONE MORE TIME about their undead hearts, their unbeating hearts, or about where their hearts should be, I would scream!

If I could give this book a 10 star rating I most definitely would!

What can I say... This book pulled me in so many emotional directions that I was left frazzled, in a good way. Luca just broke my heart, but he also made me smile, laugh and want somebody to clone him and his delishious tongue all for myself. I'm not ashamed to admit that I shed tears and then some by out right snot sobbing... It wasn't pretty!

Bron... I'm also not ashamed to admit I have a huge Girly crush on her. She's fiercely strong and IMO wants nothing more than to protect Luca right from the get go. Even if she's afraid to amit it to herself.

They both keep each other on their toes and make each other strive to be better people. At the beginning and right up to the middle of book Luca was so angry. Angry at himself and everyone around him. But I think that anger comes with such hatred for himself and what he's destined to become. Bron makes him realise that really, he's more than his destiny.

So far my favourite out of the series and can I just ask.... Is it August yet??

I loved this book for a couple of reasons.

Luca - I was so intrigued by Luca in Alex's book - I love a bad boy vamp especially when they have a sarcastic tongue. In Nicky's book we got little glimpses of him but not enough to satisfy my curiosity but by the end of this Luca is firmly cemented as my favourite Roman brother. I really felt for him on his journey, Bronwyn was a good fit for him. I'm glad she made him work for it though :)

Laura asked me yesterday who I would choose as a Mate & I told her to ask me again when I was finished. Well now, without a doubt - I'd choose Luca.

The secondary stories in this book have finally allowed the series to become it's own. I'm really looking forward to Eternal Beast to see how the occurences in this book will affect the rest of the series, so many avenues have been opened now and I can see a bright future.

Well, this started out great guns...really got into the Bron/Lucian tryst and the angst of the Breeding Male vs the good girl. But it got pretty redundant, the plot sorta loosened up, and I got less and less enthused. There is just something off-putting about using gutter language to speak to your beloved. I mean, it's not romantic music to my ears to be told how beautiful I am (which I'm not), how much I'm beloved and cherished and then hear "I can't wait to lick your c*nt". Dirty talking has a great edge when it's cool dirty talking but the words this author uses during intensely romantic moments are usually words used to denigrate (e.g., the c word, p*ssy, and prick).

I will continue to read this series as I have grown to like the characters and want to see how each of them evolve...but it does not rank among my faves.

Alright once again Ms Wright has blown me away with the Roman Brothers. Especially my baby Lucian aka Luca ;)

But I fear I must give this one just the 4 stars because although this is another suspenseful, sexy, erotic, heartfelt read, I felt the ending of this one came too quickly. Certain things were summed up way too fast for me concerning Lucian & Bronwyn.. But I love these two together. I love this series. And of course Lucian does not disappoint with his snotty, hilarious remarks. And there is a heck of a cliff hanger for you in this one as well. I can't wait for the next installment!

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU READ THIS SERIES AND START FROM THE BEGINNING.

WOW!!!..Learn more about the breeding Male....this is Lucien's story and it is a must read!!! Again, we have several subplots that all fit together like a puzzle with Lucien's being the main one..but as the plot twists and turns we are seeing connections to previous books that we didn't know about earlier in the series. This book reveals a great deal more of the backstory of the race and more of how the brothers connected. We have some surprise discoveries and the furthering of some of the stories we have already read. I love this series because each couple from each book grow as we keep reading their stories. A definite 5 star read.

My reading mood effected how I felt about this one so it is hard to say how good or bad this one was. I was in a poor mood, but despite that this book pulled me in and kept me reading.

This was so freaking good! OMG I love Lucian! Damn that vampire is hot!! It took me a couple of chapter to remember everything from the previous books, but once I did things flowed so much better and I could not put this book down. This was the best of the 3 books by far. This series is getting better and better. And the ending? Wow, that was great. Cant wait to read the next one.

The long awaited tale of Luca, the Breeding Male. All I can say is wow. I started this book and couldn't stop reading until the end. Ms. Wright succeeds once again in grabbing you and not letting go. Poor Luca is tormented knowing his fate as a Breeding Male. The characters are not perfect by any means. This a one of my keeper series and I can't wait to the next story in the series.
